i have one as well i owned the original back in 1980 after kawasaki australia sold it , it was destroyed in two bad accidents and i have now built a good replica based on my getting old memory haha
Really ought to be re-painted as a Bubba Zanetti or TOE-CUTTER replica, better yet. Picture it with a Bubba replica Bell helmet, or better yet a Toe-Cutter helmet with a huge grey women's powder-WIG stuck up under the brim! How cool would THAT be?
Jim Goose had some very interesting REAR-SETS, using the OEM pegs & hangers, even the OEM brake pedal & return spring, all relocated via some sort of bolt-up bracket. THAT'S the place to start on a Jim-Goose replica. Also, he had the "Tuck & Roll" DIY seat-cover, and the seat itself had the flip-up pivots on the right-hand-side, with little silver cotter-pins. Plus, his seat-cowl had the curved front edge, with the "bum-stop" painted black or wrapped with vinyl & foam?He also seemed to have a mirror mounted down low on the RHS of the fairing just below his knee - & his shocks had the chrome dust covers. Probably the trickiest bits to get would be the mag wheels with the bolt-up cush-drive, and the disc-brake which was fitted to the Morris wheel - Not to mention the CB-radio!
Conical KZ1000A/KZ750B rear disc hub would've made the perfect BUBBA ZANETTI replica! Goose had the Morris 7-spoke mag wheels - Bubba was waaaay more cool. What a lost opportunity!
These are guys that always wanted to be a police and for some reason couldn't be. This is the closest thing they're going to get to it I see it all the time on the freeway
This is the best sounding 4 cylinder engine ever!
-kinda late to the party, but I just got here myself. MFP
Very cool!
I just bought a KZ1000 today! It needs a lot of love but itll be just like Goose's bike eventually
