A friend and myself saw a ghost in his home 45 years ago. We were teens, and we were sitting in his room just talking about some music or other, when out of the corner of my eye I saw something move. By reflex, I turned to look, and there, peeking around the corner into his room, was a little girl with glasses and pigtails looking at us! My friend saw it too! He was stunned as I was. Thinking we had an intruder in the house, we took off after it. The front and back doors were dead locked, so no getting in or out. We searched his house high and low, but there was only us two in the house. Never forgot that day, we too saw a ghost!
Had experiences like this in my childhood home, except she looked like a dark entity and never showed her face. The house I lived in was newly built so no one lived in it before us. What the little girl spirit would do is stand outside my bedroom door with her hand grabbing onto the doorknob. This was routine btw. Always the same thing in that hallway. We also never left the lights on in that hall during the daytime so the only light source are from the open doors coming from the windows. As I go to my room, she's there, hand on doorknob, and swiftly turns her head to me as if I caught her red handed. Then she would run inside my bedroom, slam the door, and lock me out. I was 6 years old and my only thought is, when did my mom have guests over? It was just strange, like the girl was playing a trick on me. Here I am, struggling to open my locked door, knocking and banging on it. She would let me struggle for a few seconds and finally unlocks it. When I go inside, she's nowhere to be found. Not a single hiding spot. Under the bed, in the closet, behind the curtains....Nowhere. Another thing she would do is run up and down the hallway that all of our bedrooms are in. She would only do it in the middle of the night and her stomps and laughter would wake us right up. Sometimes we would even hear a ball bouncing.
It Christmas Eve 1980 and My Kids where three and four years old. I was wrapping up the last of the Christmas presents in the living room. We had two coal fires. We would live in the kitchen during the week and would only light both fires at the weekend so the fire hadn't been lit for a few days. We were not at all well off at the time. Money was very tight. I was feeling a bit upset because there didn't seem to be many presents for the Kids but it was all we could afford. A mist suddenly came out of the unlit fire and swirled out and ended up near the sideboard about two feet away from the fire. It took the shape of someone with a sheet over their head. It stayed about ten seconds then there was a slurping sound and it swirled up the wall and disappeared through the ceiling. A calmness came over me and I knew we would have a lovely Christmas. I wish I could have taken a photo. I always think about this at Christmas time. It is as clear as if it had happened yesterday.
I saw a ghost of our neighbour, he was taken into hospital one day but later on I saw him looking out of his front room window. So I told my dad, my dad said he would pop to see him after tea. But then the old man's son called round to tell us that the old man had died in hospital that afternoon.
I saw a ghost twice. I was 14 years old...im 65 now...my dad was obsessed with old churches, as teenager i hated it😅 i started doing brass rubbings. I was outside the 12th century church wit the dog Honey. Mum and dad inside. Honeys hackles went up and she growled pulling at the lead. I saw clear as a bell in broad daylight a woman in grey hazey clothes...large poke bonnet and hazy face but something told me she was running for help..just did....to the church..i only saw her from about knee length up. Wasnt scared at all but shocked. She ran through door. I ran to the church and shouted my mum who came out accompanied by dad and Churchwarden. I told them and the Churchwarden said "oh dont worry thats the lady, everyones seen her over the years, nobody has ever worked out who she is..."..i saw her so clearly. I told them i only saw her from about knee length...and was told by the CW thats because the path was alot lower down even 100 years ago......😮 The next sighting was the German Military Hospital on Jersey. I was 16, walking round a corner I saw a man sitting in a small room, music playing on a record player ...he was smoking a cigarette and there was a small fire...he was clear as bell, very short black hair, white shirt and grey trousers with socks no shoes and legs stretched out ..was completely oblivious to me staring..i could smell something cooking like toast. My mum souted i ran back and said theres a man in there playing music and making toast.....she looked at me and said dont be silly. We carried on down to find a cold empty room rather dank space.... the room of a Senior Officer. My parents were rathr dismissive....until we went back to the museum display and looked at the pictures... Officers quarters for those on night watch...the room...identical to my description. The thing that did unsettle me was that i could smell toast and feel the warmth. Not seen anything since but they didnt frighten me. . we should be frightened of the living not the dead. Im sure if either had seen me id be scared to death....but i believe iwas viewing the past. Demons...etc...nope scary mary time.😅 Stone tape theory makes sense to me. Love your stuff Richard
That grey human shape, like its made of smoke but as you said Richard, you couldnt see through it. Gorgeous summers day in Germany, talking to a neighbour over two fences and this grey figure runs through the gardens then dissipated like smoke. All i can say is where it slowly vanished was a monument to German soldiers who died at a nearby battle in '45. The fact it was in broad daylight seen by myself and others, grateful to see whoever it was.
@@RichardFelixChannel Thanks Richard 👍🏻 The one myself and colleagues saw near Castlemartin training area was way more impressive but not smoke appearing, appeared like an animated solid black cutout of a figure in a trench coat and helmet which kept "phasing" in and out of view like an old TV signal. Even more strangely we heard the metal tacks on road surface. We asked at a local restaurant bar about local legends, Lass serving us didn't miss a beat. Asked where we had been then described what we probably saw. Unless she had bugged our table there is no way she could have heard us.
This has to be one of the most clear cut accounts of a genuine ghost sighting I've heard of! No corner of the eye stuff or half asleep images during the middle of the night. Fascinating account Richard!
I've seen ghosts since I was 2 and a half,before I knew such a thing existed. I thought it was a lady we knew who lived up the road because she had similar shoes. Up until I was about 15 I found them scary,but then my curiosity took over. Now I just take it as one of those things that I see them fairly regularly. None of them has ever behaved in a threatening way,though when I was little they used to prod me through the blankets. My guess is they were roughly the same age as me and didnt quite know how to get my attention! Mum said it was my sister playing pranks,but she was getting the same thing though I didnt know it at the time. Mum would wait til I was home from school before making the beds because she felt she was being stared at from the doorway. If we had only all talked to each other as a family about it we would have all realised we were experiencing the same thing!
I saw what I believe to be the ghost of my Mum, a couple of weeks after her funeral. I woke up suddenly in the night (I almost never wake once I am asleep, until morning, unless I am ill) - my heart was pounding and I could not understand why I had woken up, and at the same time, looking towards the hall door (I was sleeping on the sofa in the living room) I saw this orange glow. At first I did not realise what it was and then I looked towards the kitchen and saw it again. It was unnerving, and why it appeared as an orange glow, I just don't know, but I know it was my Mum - perhaps the day before or a couple of days earlier, I said out loud:- "Give me a sign you are here, Mum, but don't scare me." And she did give me a sign. I did not believe in ghosts until that experience, I also did not believe in life after death but I do now. I also think I saw the same thing, the orange glow, after that as well. It comforted me but also creeped me out a bit, but I asked for it - literally.
Richard, I suffer from CPTSD and depression, and you bring me so much comfort. From your earlier videos to these new ones, I'm glad I found your channel. I'm not a massive ghost geek, but have ALWAYS found them curious, interesting, spooky and mystical. He maybe doesn’t fully realise just how much people love hearing him talk. He may do though. Its like all your worries go away as much as they can while listening to him. I could spend hours in his company.
I have seen part of a ghost .... a ladies hand coming out of a wall by the stairs in the Red Lion pub in Avebury .... Wiltshire .... only a few seconds i saw it and she was wearing a big ring too .... not scary but fascinating !
I find it annoying when people clear ghosts from castles and old haunted places when they aren't doing any harm by owners who are scared of ghosts. They have a right to be where they want and onced lived.
I agree. I can fairly much understand someone being afraid of the ghost in their home and wishing it would go away, but ghost hunters who visit random places and declare they've moved the ghost on...I wish the ghost would just clout them round the ear hole and refuse to move
They don’t clear them, they just heal them. Then the ghost is free to come back in visitation and not be bound. If they have reincarnated, they may experience the healing in their current life.
I used to volunteer at Avebury Manor and on this particular day i was on the main door as a greeter. Cold wintery day so the door was closed. I heard footsteps on the path outside so i opened the door to welcome the people in, there was no one there but i got this feeling of someone rushing past me. Very strange.
Richard explains things really well, I love his videos. I believe in ghosts because me and my daughter saw one a few years ago, I’m convinced it was michael Morey who was hanged in 1737 for killing his grandson in Newport on the Isle of Wight, we were on our way back from where he used to live and just a few feet ahead we saw a figure walking across our path, but what was strange it had like a heat shimmer round it’s body, I asked my daughter who was about 14 at the time to describe what she saw , and she described him as how michael morey would of dressed like.
I've not actually seen a ghost, but i have heard one. I was just out one night in my garden having a smoke. It was night time and pitch black. Quite unusually quiet and still too. This might sound not so interesting but i heard the voice of a man whisper "Oi" into my left ear. I could even feel the breath on my ear. I replied with a simple hello, finished my smoke and went back inside. Put the hairs standing on their ends. Very unusual. Where i use to live was quite wooded many centuries ago, and is quite close to Billinge. I could imagine that many people have walked through the woods in the past.
That happened to me once when I was stood in my back garden around 3 in the morning having a cigarette. It was deathly quiet and pitch black apart from the light coming from my back door when someone said right in my ear "hello!" I looked all around and seen no one but felt a really strange feeling of electricity in the air around me. It was soooo weird. Only ever happened the once.
I too have seen , felt , smelt and heard spirits. 1 old lady in my bedroom plus 3 older type of soldiers . Before i saw the lady who was bearing her teeth and looking quite angry that i was in that bedroom , i felt the opposite side of my bed dip as though aomeone had climbed in , then a type of noise in my right ear as if a bee or wasp was buzzing but it wasnt , she only lasted a minute if that , then at the foot of my bed the 3 soldiers appeared , they werent dressed like my father when he was in ww2 , but older like roman or such like. A couple if minutes after my son who was 9yrs old at the time , screamed from his bedroom , i went running in thinking he had hurt himself , said hw had just seen an old woman making scary faces at him , i knew then i wasnt going crazy ...... Im quite sceptical but i do believe . Its a subject ive always been fascinated in .
Feel sorry for the ghost. They’re stuck here with us instead of in the light where they have peace and the freedom to travel freely. Their souls are troubled, they are unhappy.
I absolutely believe you. I had a ghost in my house. I accidentally opened a portal where he entered, and I saw him enter. He entered it as a dark gray, wisp of smoke floating by me. Well, then he started moving my robot vacuums throwing things at me, he then messed up my my blinds at the front door. I had gone to a concert and came home to find them. Most of them completely off their mount where they hung I had to reattach those. I got mad at him and said you need to come over here and fix this he did sort of. The last time when I decided to call Shaman and he walked right by me in my bedroom, he had a fiddler hat on, but it was all gray. I couldn’t see the walls. He’s just a dark colored Gray. Now I have been told if I left him here or if I didn’t get a Shaman that he would’ve become nasty, and I don’t think so. I certainly wasn’t scared of him but I got mad at him a couple times, but I just didn’t wanna live in a house that had to go so he must’ve heard me talking to Shaman and he left and Shaman came over we did the Shaman thing and I never saw them again I moved. No sign of him at my new house.
Thanks for that Richard. Nothing quite beats that feeling of your first encounter with a ghost. My first time happened when I was still a kid (say about 5). I was playing on the staircase at my mum's old house with my toys while my mum was vacuuming downstairs. Anyway I suddenly looked up from what I was doing to see an old gentleman at the top landing starting to come down the stairs, I'd describe him as being in his 70's wearing a possibly white shirt, dark trousers and braces, he had a balding head and looked annoyed. Now I didn't know him and I thought it was just me and mum at home that day, that and the fact I could see the wall through this gentleman. I screamed out in shock and confusion and bolted downstairs to my mother and told her what I'd saw, when she went to look there was nobody there, nor was there any intruder in the house. It was that afternoon I believe I had my first encounter with what we call a ghost.
A famous Theologian who was a Franciscan Priest, OFM conv.( Greyfriar) , Fr.Eric Doyle OFM Conv(RIP), related to us (@ East Bergholt Friary , in early ',70's, ( + he had no reason to contrive this,) that a brother friar died one day @ another friary, but at the exact time of his death, another friar saw him walking around the garden saying his office. Amen
How does a 5 Yr old work out the age of some old person? If you are remembering from the age 5 you weren't intelligent enough to work it out . When I was 5 I had a pretend Friend called Bob who was a massive sausage . Eye witness of a 5yr old 😅
Nice one Richard. I have two friends who saw apparitions, they swore to me they were solid, the one guy said, he actually spoke to a little girl and she answered him.
Back in the early 2000s myself and my stepdad had a close encounter with three blue UFOs. This seemed to kick start all sorts of strange happenings. I was lucky enough to capture some of these phenomena on video. I’ve uploaded it here on my channel for anyone interested. There is another reality that surrounds us. ❤

I’ve seen a ghost in my house too. It took me a good 30 minutes to process in my head what I saw and it’s still hard to describe accurately. I’ve only seen it once and like you, I was looking directly at it. I wasn’t scared, just confused at what I was looking at.
@@thegeniusofthecrowd354 I’m not sure who or what it was. All I could see was the outline of someone’s head and part of their shoulder. The only way I can describe it is if you traced someone with a clear gel pen. I could see the hair strands (short hair) and shape of the shoulder. It moved across my hallway and stopped outside my kitchen door, stopped there for 20/30 seconds or so, then moved into the kitchen. It was the movement across the hallway that caught my eye. My dog looked up at it too.
I've seen curious spirits on occasion look at me, and my deceased Grandmother used to have conversations with them. They'd visit her like they were friends. I was really young then. *For clarification, I couldn't see them until much later. And we are not crazy either. Good day.
I have seen one or two ghosts, both at night and during the day. One was corroborated by another person and was in my home when I had friends round! They were grey as you describe and were clear human shapes. Nothing was scary, no moaning or clanking of chains, just the brief appearance of modern day people, one of whom was a friend.
Thank Richard for telling about this sighting again ,ive never heard it before . My sighting was also in the daytime at a flat my son was moving out of.I was packing things away in the front room ,facing my son in his bedroom with a hall between us , just chatting away. It was a swirling grey mass that covered the top of the doorframe down to the floor ,i couldn't see through it and it went passed us in about 5 seconds. It wasnt scary ,just shocking because i wasn't expecting it ,no other explanation,no steam,no windows ,nothing .It was going so fast , frantic swirling and solid ,not shaped like a human .Thank you,new sub.
I'd happily listen to you for hours Richard and so would my sister. I loved hearing your ghost account especially the ghost form description and how you had your wife kept on the phone 🤣 Many years ago I used to do investigations and I was touched on my arm. I felt a hand form press on my waterproof coat (that got my attention) and then a firm hand pressure hold and press down on my actual arm. It was frightening but later fascinating. I knew exactly what it was and I'd stupidity and randomly said earlier "I wonder if I'll get touched" saying that was totally out of character. I guess I asked for it 🤣🤣Thank you for sharing.
That sent shivers down my back 😮 I believe I've seen two ghosts, one a dog and one a man both outside in the daytime. I've tried and tried to come up with a normal explanation for it but i just can't
Richard, I spent the night at your Derby Goal years ago with a group of work colleagues for charity. I can attest that it definitely is haunted. We all settled in one of the cells for the night in sleeping bags, everyone was back to feet across the cell (they are quite narrow if I recall) and I decided to sit at the head of everyone on a chair at the far end of the cell, calling out for responses. For a long while nothing happened and then I got a loud moan in my ear that I KNOW was a spirit voice. Needless to say panic set in and I literally dropped and crawled across the colleagues legs to get out of the cell. I wish I'd have had the guts to stay and continue the communication, but the subject from then on became (and I was not a small woman at the time) how I crushed the legs of my colleagues. So, fear and fun that night.
I totally understand your need to have a person on the phone with you. I have only seen one ghost- a friendly one. I usually sense them, hear them and sometimes smell them. Usually they are just there, not particularly scary apart from one at Plas Mawr in Conwy and one at Berry Pomeroy Castle- a brooding atmosphere. All interesting stuff. I’ve believed/ known ghosts exist since I was a child.
Richard, you could tell me that account 200 times over and I still wouldn’t get bored of it. A fascinating account of what you saw………..I KIND of wish I could see one myself. ive also seen a ghost,, first reactions are ,, shock,, but once you have seen one ,, you see many more , my one was a little girl standing at the bottom of my bed looking at me ,, i could see her ,, but i could see through her ,, she was rife with playing with door handles during the night ,, i got used to her ,, accepted her into my home
I've had a couple of paranormal experiences, but one that really left me in shock was when i woke up to a woman yelling very close to me in a language I have never heard. The other happened recently at my workplace. I saw a little boy around 7-8 years old who seemed to be looking at me, although i could not see his face. It was so strange. I could tell you what he was wearing and how he parted his hair but not what he looked like.
Richard , you are “ the man” I’ve met you at a book signing that you did in Meadowhall Sheffield, I have most of, if not all your videos from haunted places around the country ( in one, it would actually seem as if “ something “ was following you around and swirling the leaves about as you walked. I also took my daughter to “ Derby gaol” for her 18th birthday and what an evening we had, the ghost tour round Derby was brilliant, the gaol was soo creepy but interesting also and to top it off we had a jkt spud with cheese and beans for supper, sadly we did not see anything but that did nothing to lessen the atmosphere however one strange thing did happen on the table next to us having supper a young lady had put her camera beside her plate, she swears it was switched off but it still manage somehow to take two pictures, we all saw it flash twice !!!!! You sir are also in my belief one of the most credible people in the paranormal world, keep doing what your doing because I for one will always watch and listen, much ❤️ Granny Linda

I have seen same thing when l was 17 it walked along back wall and disappeared where door was. Since then l have seen lots of things. I not making this up l have no need
I saw a ghost in Regents Park london at 11pm. It was a hot night back in the early 70's. I saw a man that looked like somebody from the Victorian times, and by his side was a little white dog. I was not alone. My friend saw him too....

I've experienced a few paranormal things in life but the one which always sticks in my mind is the ghost car on a deserted A11 near Thetford at about midnight. I was (VERY foolishly) trying to roll a cigarette while driving (I know...) and I suddenly became aware of a small white Peugeot behind me, clear as day, very close with lights blaring. It was as real as any car. I glanced down for a second to and then the car had vanished. This was a dual carriageway and the car has half a second to disappear. In that half second I'd decided to stop further on to roll a cigarette. As you said Richard, the very fact that we do not know what these things are or how they work is the most scary thing - I remain petrified xD
My dad had a brush with the supernatural in the 1950s. Our family was living in Germany where Dad was stationed with the RCAF. Our family was travelling by car in northern France on holiday, I forget what town was our destination for the night. Dad stopped the car to "answer a call of nature" in a nearby field. It was dark, but he was not thinking of spooks or being near WW1 battlefields--he was worrying that we wouldn't be able to find a hotel room so late. Suddenly, he had a feeling of being surrounded by a large group of men. He compared the feeling to taking a break on a route march when everyone could relax, have a smoke and a chat for a few minutes. A warm friendly feeling. He wasn't frightened.
Boy your lucky to see a ghost right place right time,poor terrified Richard,😮you was very fortunate ,think that ghost liked you ,Iam sure you got company ,but you will be fine ,have a little tipple to settle nerves ,the ghost will understand ,they were human beings once and are now entities.😮that’s an awfully nice jersey you have on there!you look well and very happy recounting this fantastic event 😮in the afternoon sighting thank goodness in daytime and on the phone.
I had an experience at Derby jail when I brought my daughter Molly on a surprise birthday present. We entered one of the rooms there that would have held a prisoner and Richard closed the door to give us a feel of being alone in the dark. I went in first with my daughter and there was movement next to me. Everyone screamed and at the same time I heard chains and something heavy roll across my foot. We all ran out but later on after the tour had finished I asked Richard if I could look in there with the lights on and to my amazement there was a heavy ball and chain that was too heavy to move.

Parents had a pub, knocked down nowadays, Brimington Chesterfield called the Prince of Wales. Lived there as a teenager 2 years back in 1996 never saw an apparition thank God but boy did things move around on their own in there you name it, paper bin tops spinning, thuds in the attic and I mean thuds...we called it The General because it sounded as if it has heavy boots on

I've seen ghosts in my life, too. They surprise me more than frighten me. I think we all see them at one time or another; we just don't trust our instincts. I think these spirits make themselves known for a reason. Maybe they have questions! They may not know they have passed. If they determine that you CAN see them, they may continue to be seen or heard. You are 'receptive', so, they want to be around you even more to get answers.
I have. It's no joke either. It's more frightening than you can imagine. Around 2am, 28th December 2019. Turner over in bed to be faced with a spectral apparition. It didn't suddenly appear, it came into my line of sight as I turned over. It was a metre away from the bed at head height. Around a metre high, 1.5m long, like a lions mane, shimmering golds, reds, orange and crimson, with a pale grey face that looked contorted. It stayed there perhaps 30 seconds and dissipated head first over around 5 seconds. We've had a lot of activity here over the years. Mostly poltergeist, mugs swinging on hooks, the kettle switching on and off in rapid succession. Every kettle we've had here does the same. Shadows, repeated knocks, cold spots, whisps of vapours crossing rooms, and a heavy, bloody depressing atmosphere.
Great encounter, Richard. Im 38 Ive had a fair few encounters. From being stared at by an older lady in my house , a scary man that terrified me!... to knocking wherever I go, my pregnant belly being touched in a Scottish castle, flashes of bright lights, whispers in my ears, the list goes on and on...sometimes people are to witness these encounters. Im like a magnet. I dont know if it properly works but I asked (god, the universe , whatever you believe) ..to be closed down and not keep seeing things. It works for me. I still sense things. It just got too much. I dont tell many people this stuff because Im not trying to convince anybody or change their mind. Untill you witness something its hard to believe.
From what I've learned, it's actually our spirit guides who orchestrate things for us 'spiritually', on behalf of God or whatever, and they want us to interact with them and it's like their duty to help and assist us in anyway possible, so we should call upon them as often as we can to help us out. That's actually the opposite of what I've thought my entire 60 years of life, because I didn't want to be a 'God-botherer', type of thing, unless it was something really important I needed to ask him to help me with, like a fatal illness of a loved one, etc. I've learned through psychic mediums though, that it's basically their assignment to connect with us and forge a strong, interactive relationship with us, where helping me actually spiritually benefits THEM...who bloody knew...?? So now I try to remember to bother them all day long, and get used to bugging them for every little thing...like we're besties...which we actually are! Another freaky thing...we don't just have one or two spirit guides...we have MANY...like DOZENS!!? I KNOW...totally freaky!! This is coming from mediums whom I trust [and that's a short list] and straight out of the mouths of THEIR spirit guides. It's actually comforting, like I have an entire team of good guys looking out for me...as do us all...but I do feel a bit sorry for them to be stuck with such an ordinary, boring human being, lol. Maybe that'll be my duty, or penance...to do the same for an individual of the next generation.
Yes, I thand them every night before I sleep. I'm not religious but have always had a strong belief since a small child. I just try and put out to the universe, gratitude and ask for help when I need. Which is often lol
Hi Richard a similar experiance happened to me at the British hotel,Valletta,Malta.Sat with my wife and amember of staff late on when a shadowy figure walked up the stairs and dissapeared.Only I saw it and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.Never mentioned it to my wife as not to scare her and we stayed for a week and it never occured again.We later found out the hotel was built on some catacombs.

When I was around 9 or so , an apparition appeared kneeling by the side of my bed. Elderly chap, mid 60’s. Wearing a striped shirt,collarless with a stud. Braces,very wrinkled face,short cropped white hair. Just stared at me. Closed my eyes then opened them again, he’d gone. We lived in what was the old station master’s house and I believe it was him. That was in Chester-le_Street, Co.Durham around 1970
I brought a my first house & started to do it up. Long story short, I experienced something that to this day still shakes me to my core. One night laying in bed my bedroom door handle moved down & the door opened. No one there. As I lay there frozen in terror I could feel hands moving across the duvet. The next day I carry on working on the house & I rounded a corner & stood in the corner of the room I just entered was an old lady looking straight at me. She was solid & looked very confused & angry at me. I admit I screamed & before my eyes she evaporated. Turns out the lady had passed away in the home & was confused why I was changing things in her home. It was explained to me she didn’t know she had died & was still in her home. I had the house blessed as I felt she needed help to let go. After that the atmosphere of the home being lighter & much warmer. Before that I was a complete skeptic but now I know it’s real as I’ve experienced it first hand
When I was five years old I was looking out of the dining room window of our house at my father and two brothers playing in the garden, when I felt a hand on my left shoulder. I quickly turned around to see who was there, but the room was completely empty. I thought it might be one of my brothers playing a trick on me, but when I looked back out of the window, they were still in the garden with my father. At that moment I got scared and ran into the kitchen, where my mother was standing at the sink doing the washing up and there was no one else in the house. My grandmother had died only a few days earlier and looking back now, I wonder if it was her coming back for a final goodbye.
That's quite fascinating Chris and I'm certainly glad you posted your experience. It so closely matches mine that I NOW believe what I've been trying to dismiss as nonsense (for the past 59 years), was real. I too was 5 years old and the night that my Dad's Mother "Grandma" died, something happened that has never happened again since. It was about 10:30 PM. My bed time was always 9:00 P.M. I had been sleeping fitfully for the past hour and a half, whereas I normally dropped off quickly. I turned over on my stomach, just lying there listening to the faint distant sound of the television that my parents were watching in the living room. I faintly heard my parents talking to one another. Suddenly, I felt a hand (quite distinctly and flat palmed) begin to rub my back. Slowly from side to side then up and down. I knew that I had just heard my parents voices emmenate down the hallway only a moment ago so it couldn't be them. I just layed there tense with my eyes closed tight trying not to believe what I was thinking. The motion of the hand on my back just continued. I was too scared to move, so I decided to start making "moaning noises" as though I was waking up because of being distributed. As I did... the sensation of the hand disappeared at once. The worst for me was seeing a young boy looked spitting image of Young Damien from the omen films…. I Literally was looking at a young boy standing in my dining room …scared the 💩outta me ! Just like looking at a normal human being ,just standing smirking sinisterly at me
I've experienced poltergeist activity and have even seen a road ghost, who I honestly thought I would run over before it/she blinked out of existence, in front of my vehicle. I was with a witness who can corroborate my story exactly.
On November 9th 2002 I bought a group of friends for the night at your Derby Gaol. Three of us spent some time in the far cell, one with a video camera and the other two of us at the other end of the cell. It was pitch black and all we could see wat the red light on the night vision camcorder. There was two of us near the closed door and out of nowhere, a dirty cream coloured self illuminating 'shadow' came down the wall from one end of the cell towards us. Both my friend and I voiced our surprise of seeing it. It was over within 2 seconds but we both saw it. Imagine old dirty cream cloth cotton in the dark, slightly lit coming at you. There was no sound and gone before we could say 'oh wow, didja see that' ? I love your story. Keep it up mate.
I saw one one in uttoxeter in my old Georgian house I ran down the stairs and jumped Ito one of the bedrooms like you would as a child being silly ..a small dark shape ran round a chair no mistake like a black dust cloud but small like a dog as if I’d startled it the hairs went up on the back of my neck
I think of poor ghosts up in an attic or in a wardrobe or closet, just trying to hang out peaceably, being battered and harrassed by a group of hunters waving an armful of metal electronic instruments, all talking at once: "Are you here? Can you say something, move something, hit something, talk into this? Perform for us, please!". Oh, I think we are alone -- why did they leave?!
I've lived in several haunted places but never encountered an apparition; I worked for several years in a famously haunted building in a major city and it was a daily dread. There are times when there's nothing human or person about them: disturbing sounds, drops in temp and quickly moving shadow people. Everyone who worked there had to deal with it, including, for example, getting permission to leave the building before the sun went down. Not vampires, but the activity ramped up at certain times. The history of the building is well known and it's quite old but no one has ever identified a person or specific incident.
Yes I agree we shouldn’t be scared of ghosts whether they’re residual or interactive Ive had a couple of experiences and I didn’t realise they were ghostly till afterwards! I spoke to one who appeared quite solid and just like a person until she disappeared!

My husband and I were staying in the "haunted room," over a Halloween weekend and the room was haunted by the previous owner's wife.
I know exactly what you mean! I’ve seen the full bodied apparition of a monk! I felt him, and let me tell you he wasn’t good! I later found out that monks once used the land for grazing livestock and I’ve heard of someone else who has claimed that a monk haunts kings road! That’s where I saw him!

Seen a 'Stone tape theory' type of apparition twice... Plus I've seen a shadow person (Pitch Black) entity that was throwing things about & banging things around... 😮
A friend and myself saw a ghost in his home 45 years ago. We were teens, and we were sitting in his room just talking about some music or other, when out of the corner of my eye I saw something move. By reflex, I turned to look, and there, peeking around the corner into his room, was a little girl with glasses and pigtails looking at us! My friend saw it too! He was stunned as I was. Thinking we had an intruder in the house, we took off after it. The front and back doors were dead locked, so no getting in or out. We searched his house high and low, but there was only us two in the house. Never forgot that day, we too saw a ghost!

Had experiences like this in my childhood home, except she looked like a dark entity and never showed her face. The house I lived in was newly built so no one lived in it before us. What the little girl spirit would do is stand outside my bedroom door with her hand grabbing onto the doorknob. This was routine btw. Always the same thing in that hallway. We also never left the lights on in that hall during the daytime so the only light source are from the open doors coming from the windows. As I go to my room, she's there, hand on doorknob, and swiftly turns her head to me as if I caught her red handed. Then she would run inside my bedroom, slam the door, and lock me out. I was 6 years old and my only thought is, when did my mom have guests over? It was just strange, like the girl was playing a trick on me. Here I am, struggling to open my locked door, knocking and banging on it. She would let me struggle for a few seconds and finally unlocks it. When I go inside, she's nowhere to be found. Not a single hiding spot. Under the bed, in the closet, behind the curtains....Nowhere. Another thing she would do is run up and down the hallway that all of our bedrooms are in. She would only do it in the middle of the night and her stomps and laughter would wake us right up. Sometimes we would even hear a ball bouncing.
It Christmas Eve 1980 and My Kids where three and four years old. I was wrapping up the last of the Christmas presents in the living room. We had two coal fires. We would live in the kitchen during the week and would only light both fires at the weekend so the fire hadn't been lit for a few days. We were not at all well off at the time. Money was very tight. I was feeling a bit upset because there didn't seem to be many presents for the Kids but it was all we could afford. A mist suddenly came out of the unlit fire and swirled out and ended up near the sideboard about two feet away from the fire. It took the shape of someone with a sheet over their head. It stayed about ten seconds then there was a slurping sound and it swirled up the wall and disappeared through the ceiling. A calmness came over me and I knew we would have a lovely Christmas. I wish I could have taken a photo. I always think about this at Christmas time. It is as clear as if it had happened yesterday.

I saw a ghost of our neighbour, he was taken into hospital one day but later on I saw him looking out of his front room window. So I told my dad, my dad said he would pop to see him after tea. But then the old man's son called round to tell us that the old man had died in hospital that afternoon.
I saw a ghost twice. I was 14 years old...im 65 now...my dad was obsessed with old churches, as teenager i hated it😅 i started doing brass rubbings. I was outside the 12th century church wit the dog Honey. Mum and dad inside. Honeys hackles went up and she growled pulling at the lead. I saw clear as a bell in broad daylight a woman in grey hazey clothes...large poke bonnet and hazy face but something told me she was running for help..just did....to the church..i only saw her from about knee length up. Wasnt scared at all but shocked. She ran through door. I ran to the church and shouted my mum who came out accompanied by dad and Churchwarden. I told them and the Churchwarden said "oh dont worry thats the lady, everyones seen her over the years, nobody has ever worked out who she is..."..i saw her so clearly. I told them i only saw her from about knee length...and was told by the CW thats because the path was alot lower down even 100 years ago......😮
The next sighting was the German Military Hospital on Jersey. I was 16, walking round a corner I saw a man sitting in a small room, music playing on a record player ...he was smoking a cigarette and there was a small fire...he was clear as bell, very short black hair, white shirt and grey trousers with socks no shoes and legs stretched out ..was completely oblivious to me staring..i could smell something cooking like toast.
My mum souted i ran back and said theres a man in there playing music and making toast.....she looked at me and said dont be silly. We carried on down to find a cold empty room rather dank space.... the room of a Senior Officer.
My parents were rathr dismissive....until we went back to the museum display and looked at the pictures... Officers quarters for those on night watch...the room...identical to my description. The thing that did unsettle me was that i could smell toast and feel the warmth.
Not seen anything since but they didnt frighten me. . we should be frightened of the living not the dead.
Im sure if either had seen me id be scared to death....but i believe iwas viewing the past.
Demons...etc...nope scary mary time.😅

That grey human shape, like its made of smoke but as you said Richard, you couldnt see through it. Gorgeous summers day in Germany, talking to a neighbour over two fences and this grey figure runs through the gardens then dissipated like smoke. All i can say is where it slowly vanished was a monument to German soldiers who died at a nearby battle in '45. The fact it was in broad daylight seen by myself and others, grateful to see whoever it was.

@@RichardFelixChannel Thanks Richard 👍🏻 The one myself and colleagues saw near Castlemartin training area was way more impressive but not smoke appearing, appeared like an animated solid black cutout of a figure in a trench coat and helmet which kept "phasing" in and out of view like an old TV signal. Even more strangely we heard the metal tacks on road surface. We asked at a local restaurant bar about local legends, Lass serving us didn't miss a beat. Asked where we had been then described what we probably saw. Unless she had bugged our table there is no way she could have heard us.
This has to be one of the most clear cut accounts of a genuine ghost sighting I've heard of! No corner of the eye stuff or half asleep images during the middle of the night. Fascinating account Richard!
I've seen ghosts since I was 2 and a half,before I knew such a thing existed. I thought it was a lady we knew who lived up the road because she had similar shoes. Up until I was about 15 I found them scary,but then my curiosity took over. Now I just take it as one of those things that I see them fairly regularly. None of them has ever behaved in a threatening way,though when I was little they used to prod me through the blankets. My guess is they were roughly the same age as me and didnt quite know how to get my attention! Mum said it was my sister playing pranks,but she was getting the same thing though I didnt know it at the time. Mum would wait til I was home from school before making the beds because she felt she was being stared at from the doorway. If we had only all talked to each other as a family about it we would have all realised we were experiencing the same thing!
I saw what I believe to be the ghost of my Mum, a couple of weeks after her funeral. I woke up suddenly in the night (I almost never wake once I am asleep, until morning, unless I am ill) - my heart was pounding and I could not understand why I had woken up, and at the same time, looking towards the hall door (I was sleeping on the sofa in the living room) I saw this orange glow. At first I did not realise what it was and then I looked towards the kitchen and saw it again. It was unnerving, and why it appeared as an orange glow, I just don't know, but I know it was my Mum - perhaps the day before or a couple of days earlier, I said out loud:- "Give me a sign you are here, Mum, but don't scare me." And she did give me a sign. I did not believe in ghosts until that experience, I also did not believe in life after death but I do now. I also think I saw the same thing, the orange glow, after that as well. It comforted me but also creeped me out a bit, but I asked for it - literally.

I saw a ghost at Berry Pomeroy Castle in 2020 of the White Lady at precisely 1.45am on the driveway for a few seconds.
I have seen part of a ghost .... a ladies hand coming out of a wall by the stairs in the Red Lion pub in Avebury .... Wiltshire .... only a few seconds i saw it and she was wearing a big ring too .... not scary but fascinating !
I find it annoying when people clear ghosts from castles and old haunted places when they aren't doing any harm by owners who are scared of ghosts. They have a right to be where they want and onced lived.
Maybe their idea is to free them from restraint so that they might progress to where they should be? I know what you mean though.

I agree. I can fairly much understand someone being afraid of the ghost in their home and wishing it would go away, but ghost hunters who visit random places and declare they've moved the ghost on...I wish the ghost would just clout them round the ear hole and refuse to move
They don’t clear them, they just heal them. Then the ghost is free to come back in visitation and not be bound. If they have reincarnated, they may experience the healing in their current life.

I used to volunteer at Avebury Manor and on this particular day i was on the main door as a greeter. Cold wintery day so the door was closed. I heard footsteps on the path outside so i opened the door to welcome the people in, there was no one there but i got this feeling of someone rushing past me. Very strange.

Richard explains things really well, I love his videos. I believe in ghosts because me and my daughter saw one a few years ago, I’m convinced it was michael Morey who was hanged in 1737 for killing his grandson in Newport on the Isle of Wight, we were on our way back from where he used to live and just a few feet ahead we saw a figure walking across our path, but what was strange it had like a heat shimmer round it’s body, I asked my daughter who was about 14 at the time to describe what she saw , and she described him as how michael morey would of dressed like.
I've not actually seen a ghost, but i have heard one. I was just out one night in my garden having a smoke. It was night time and pitch black. Quite unusually quiet and still too. This might sound not so interesting but i heard the voice of a man whisper "Oi" into my left ear. I could even feel the breath on my ear. I replied with a simple hello, finished my smoke and went back inside. Put the hairs standing on their ends. Very unusual.
Where i use to live was quite wooded many centuries ago, and is quite close to Billinge. I could imagine that many people have walked through the woods in the past.
I thought that was funny when he said ‘I’m alone with what’s just come in!’😅
That happened to me once when I was stood in my back garden around 3 in the morning having a cigarette. It was deathly quiet and pitch black apart from the light coming from my back door when someone said right in my ear "hello!" I looked all around and seen no one but felt a really strange feeling of electricity in the air around me. It was soooo weird. Only ever happened the once.

I too have seen , felt , smelt and heard spirits. 1 old lady in my bedroom plus 3 older type of soldiers . Before i saw the lady who was bearing her teeth and looking quite angry that i was in that bedroom , i felt the opposite side of my bed dip as though aomeone had climbed in , then a type of noise in my right ear as if a bee or wasp was buzzing but it wasnt , she only lasted a minute if that , then at the foot of my bed the 3 soldiers appeared , they werent dressed like my father when he was in ww2 , but older like roman or such like. A couple if minutes after my son who was 9yrs old at the time , screamed from his bedroom , i went running in thinking he had hurt himself , said hw had just seen an old woman making scary faces at him , i knew then i wasnt going crazy ...... Im quite sceptical but i do believe . Its a subject ive always been fascinated in .

I absolutely believe you. I had a ghost in my house. I accidentally opened a portal where he entered, and I saw him enter. He entered it as a dark gray, wisp of smoke floating by me. Well, then he started moving my robot vacuums throwing things at me, he then messed up my my blinds at the front door. I had gone to a concert and came home to find them. Most of them completely off their mount where they hung I had to reattach those. I got mad at him and said you need to come over here and fix this he did sort of. The last time when I decided to call Shaman and he walked right by me in my bedroom, he had a fiddler hat on, but it was all gray. I couldn’t see the walls. He’s just a dark colored Gray. Now I have been told if I left him here or if I didn’t get a Shaman that he would’ve become nasty, and I don’t think so. I certainly wasn’t scared of him but I got mad at him a couple times, but I just didn’t wanna live in a house that had to go so he must’ve heard me talking to Shaman and he left and Shaman came over we did the Shaman thing and I never saw them again I moved. No sign of him at my new house.
Thanks for that Richard. Nothing quite beats that feeling of your first encounter with a ghost. My first time happened when I was still a kid (say about 5). I was playing on the staircase at my mum's old house with my toys while my mum was vacuuming downstairs. Anyway I suddenly looked up from what I was doing to see an old gentleman at the top landing starting to come down the stairs, I'd describe him as being in his 70's wearing a possibly white shirt, dark trousers and braces, he had a balding head and looked annoyed. Now I didn't know him and I thought it was just me and mum at home that day, that and the fact I could see the wall through this gentleman. I screamed out in shock and confusion and bolted downstairs to my mother and told her what I'd saw, when she went to look there was nobody there, nor was there any intruder in the house. It was that afternoon I believe I had my first encounter with what we call a ghost.
A famous Theologian who was a Franciscan Priest, OFM conv.( Greyfriar) , Fr.Eric Doyle OFM Conv(RIP), related to us (@ East Bergholt Friary , in early ',70's, ( + he had no reason to contrive this,) that a brother friar died one day @ another friary, but at the exact time of his death, another friar saw him walking around the garden saying his office. Amen
How does a 5 Yr old work out the age of some old person? If you are remembering from the age 5 you weren't intelligent enough to work it out . When I was 5 I had a pretend Friend called Bob who was a massive sausage . Eye witness of a 5yr old 😅

Nice one Richard. I have two friends who saw apparitions, they swore to me they were solid, the one guy said, he actually spoke to a little girl and she answered him.
Back in the early 2000s myself and my stepdad had a close encounter with three blue UFOs. This seemed to kick start all sorts of strange happenings. I was lucky enough to capture some of these phenomena on video. I’ve uploaded it here on my channel for anyone interested. There is another reality that surrounds us. ❤

I’ve seen a ghost in my house too. It took me a good 30 minutes to process in my head what I saw and it’s still hard to describe accurately. I’ve only seen it once and like you, I was looking directly at it. I wasn’t scared, just confused at what I was looking at.

@@thegeniusofthecrowd354 I’m not sure who or what it was. All I could see was the outline of someone’s head and part of their shoulder. The only way I can describe it is if you traced someone with a clear gel pen. I could see the hair strands (short hair) and shape of the shoulder. It moved across my hallway and stopped outside my kitchen door, stopped there for 20/30 seconds or so, then moved into the kitchen. It was the movement across the hallway that caught my eye. My dog looked up at it too.

I have seen a ghost on two occasions and I believe a ghost also walked through me although I did not see it but certainly felt it.

I've seen curious spirits on occasion look at me, and my deceased Grandmother used to have conversations with them.
They'd visit her like they were friends.

I have seen one or two ghosts, both at night and during the day. One was corroborated by another person and was in my home when I had friends round! They were grey as you describe and were clear human shapes. Nothing was scary, no moaning or clanking of chains, just the brief appearance of modern day people, one of whom was a friend.
Thank Richard for telling about this sighting again ,ive never heard it before . My sighting was also in the daytime at a flat my son was moving out of.I was packing things away in the front room ,facing my son in his bedroom with a hall between us , just chatting away. It was a swirling grey mass that covered the top of the doorframe down to the floor ,i couldn't see through it and it went passed us in about 5 seconds. It wasnt scary ,just shocking because i wasn't expecting it ,no other explanation,no steam,no windows ,nothing .It was going so fast , frantic swirling and solid ,not shaped like a human .Thank you,new sub.

I'd happily listen to you for hours Richard and so would my sister. I loved hearing your ghost account especially the ghost form description and how you had your wife kept on the phone 🤣 Many years ago I used to do investigations and I was touched on my arm. I felt a hand form press on my waterproof coat (that got my attention) and then a firm hand pressure hold and press down on my actual arm. It was frightening but later fascinating. I knew exactly what it was and I'd stupidity and randomly said earlier "I wonder if I'll get touched" saying that was totally out of character. I guess I asked for it 🤣🤣Thank you for sharing.

Richard, I spent the night at your Derby Goal years ago with a group of work colleagues for charity. I can attest that it definitely is haunted. We all settled in one of the cells for the night in sleeping bags, everyone was back to feet across the cell (they are quite narrow if I recall) and I decided to sit at the head of everyone on a chair at the far end of the cell, calling out for responses. For a long while nothing happened and then I got a loud moan in my ear that I KNOW was a spirit voice. Needless to say panic set in and I literally dropped and crawled across the colleagues legs to get out of the cell. I wish I'd have had the guts to stay and continue the communication, but the subject from then on became (and I was not a small woman at the time) how I crushed the legs of my colleagues. So, fear and fun that night.
I totally understand your need to have a person on the phone with you. I have only seen one ghost- a friendly one. I usually sense them, hear them and sometimes smell them. Usually they are just there, not particularly scary apart from one at Plas Mawr in Conwy and one at Berry Pomeroy Castle- a brooding atmosphere. All interesting stuff. I’ve believed/ known ghosts exist since I was a child.
Richard, you could tell me that account 200 times over and I still wouldn’t get bored of it. A fascinating account of what you saw………..I KIND of wish I could see one myself.
I’ve encountered many other phenomena, but never a full apparition.

I came to the gaol a few weeks ago, you signed a book and I really enjoyed the talk you gave. I was sitting against the back wall and I could feel that something was being tightened around my ankle. I could listen to you for hours talking about old derby. Thank you for all you do ❤

ive also seen a ghost,, first reactions are ,, shock,, but once you have seen one ,, you see many more , my one was a little girl standing at the bottom of my bed looking at me ,, i could see her ,, but i could see through her ,, she was rife with playing with door handles during the night ,, i got used to her ,, accepted her into my home
I've had a couple of paranormal experiences, but one that really left me in shock was when i woke up to a woman yelling very close to me in a language I have never heard. The other happened recently at my workplace. I saw a little boy around 7-8 years old who seemed to be looking at me, although i could not see his face. It was so strange. I could tell you what he was wearing and how he parted his hair but not what he looked like.

Richard , you are “ the man” I’ve met you at a book signing that you did in Meadowhall Sheffield, I have most of, if not all your videos from haunted places around the country ( in one, it would actually seem as if “ something “ was following you around and swirling the leaves about as you walked. I also took my daughter to “ Derby gaol” for her 18th birthday and what an evening we had, the ghost tour round Derby was brilliant, the gaol was soo creepy but interesting also and to top it off we had a jkt spud with cheese and beans for supper, sadly we did not see anything but that did nothing to lessen the atmosphere however one strange thing did happen on the table next to us having supper a young lady had put her camera beside her plate, she swears it was switched off but it still manage somehow to take two pictures, we all saw it flash twice !!!!! You sir are also in my belief one of the most credible people in the paranormal world, keep doing what your doing because I for one will always watch and listen, much ❤️ Granny Linda

Thank you for this amazing video, Richard. I have my own ghost stories to tell, but mine took place in Egypt when I was a child. My dad was in the army before we eventually moved to NYC when I was about 10 years old.
I have seen same thing when l was 17 it walked along back wall and disappeared where door was. Since then l have seen lots of things. I not making this up l have no need

I saw a ghost in Regents Park london at 11pm. It was a hot night back in the early 70's. I saw a man that looked like somebody from the Victorian times, and by his side was a little white dog. I was not alone. My friend saw him too....

Love your work Richard, I have a lot of respect for your opinions on this phenomenon, so thanks for sharing your catalogue with us, fascinating. I've experienced a few paranormal things in life but the one which always sticks in my mind is the ghost car on a deserted A11 near Thetford at about midnight. I was (VERY foolishly) trying to roll a cigarette while driving (I know...) and I suddenly became aware of a small white Peugeot behind me, clear as day, very close with lights blaring. It was as real as any car. I glanced down for a second to and then the car had vanished. This was a dual carriageway and the car has half a second to disappear. In that half second I'd decided to stop further on to roll a cigarette. As you said Richard, the very fact that we do not know what these things are or how they work is the most scary thing - I remain petrified xD

I have seen more than one not scared. They were just like us. I have experienced a poltergeists that i couldnt see it was scary.

My dad had a brush with the supernatural in the 1950s. Our family was living in Germany where Dad was stationed with the RCAF. Our family was travelling by car in northern France on holiday, I forget what town was our destination for the night. Dad stopped the car to "answer a call of nature" in a nearby field. It was dark, but he was not thinking of spooks or being near WW1 battlefields--he was worrying that we wouldn't be able to find a hotel room so late. Suddenly, he had a feeling of being surrounded by a large group of men. He compared the feeling to taking a break on a route march when everyone could relax, have a smoke and a chat for a few minutes. A warm friendly feeling. He wasn't frightened.

Boy your lucky to see a ghost right place right time,poor terrified Richard,😮you was very fortunate ,think that ghost liked you ,Iam sure you got company ,but you will be fine ,have a little tipple to settle nerves ,the ghost will understand ,they were human beings once and are now entities.😮that’s an awfully nice jersey you have on there!you look well and very happy recounting this fantastic event 😮in the afternoon sighting thank goodness in daytime and on the phone.

I had an experience at Derby jail when I brought my daughter Molly on a surprise birthday present.
We entered one of the rooms there that would have held a prisoner and Richard closed the door to give us a feel of being alone in the dark.
I went in first with my daughter and there was movement next to me. Everyone screamed and at the same time I heard chains and something heavy roll across my foot.
We all ran out but later on after the tour had finished I asked Richard if I could look in there with the lights on and to my amazement there was a heavy ball and chain that was too heavy to move.
I saw the ghost of a young girl, in a tent, believe it or not. I was just settling down in my sleeping bag and there she was. Freaked me out!

Parents had a pub, knocked down nowadays, Brimington Chesterfield called the Prince of Wales. Lived there as a teenager 2 years back in 1996 never saw an apparition thank God but boy did things move around on their own in there you name it, paper bin tops spinning, thuds in the attic and I mean thuds...we called it The General because it sounded as if it has heavy boots on

I've seen ghosts in my life, too. They surprise me more than frighten me.
I think we all see them at one time or another; we just don't trust our instincts.
I think these spirits make themselves known for a reason. Maybe they have questions! They may not know they have passed. If they determine that you CAN see them, they may continue to be seen or heard. You are 'receptive', so, they want to be around you even more to get answers.
I have. It's no joke either. It's more frightening than you can imagine.
Around 2am, 28th December 2019.
Turner over in bed to be faced with a spectral apparition.
It didn't suddenly appear, it came into my line of sight as I turned over. It was a metre away from the bed at head height.
Around a metre high, 1.5m long, like a lions mane, shimmering golds, reds, orange and crimson, with a pale grey face that looked contorted.
It stayed there perhaps 30 seconds and dissipated head first over around 5 seconds.
We've had a lot of activity here over the years. Mostly poltergeist, mugs swinging on hooks, the kettle switching on and off in rapid succession. Every kettle we've had here does the same.
Shadows, repeated knocks, cold spots, whisps of vapours crossing rooms, and a heavy, bloody depressing atmosphere.
I just ask the ghost to not scare me and usually we happily co exist xxx

Great encounter, Richard. Im 38 Ive had a fair few encounters. From being stared at by an older lady in my house , a scary man that terrified me!... to knocking wherever I go, my pregnant belly being touched in a Scottish castle, flashes of bright lights, whispers in my ears, the list goes on and on...sometimes people are to witness these encounters. Im like a magnet. I dont know if it properly works but I asked (god, the universe , whatever you believe) ..to be closed down and not keep seeing things. It works for me. I still sense things. It just got too much. I dont tell many people this stuff because Im not trying to convince anybody or change their mind. Untill you witness something its hard to believe.
From what I've learned, it's actually our spirit guides who orchestrate things for us 'spiritually', on behalf of God or whatever, and they want us to interact with them and it's like their duty to help and assist us in anyway possible, so we should call upon them as often as we can to help us out. That's actually the opposite of what I've thought my entire 60 years of life, because I didn't want to be a 'God-botherer', type of thing, unless it was something really important I needed to ask him to help me with, like a fatal illness of a loved one, etc. I've learned through psychic mediums though, that it's basically their assignment to connect with us and forge a strong, interactive relationship with us, where helping me actually spiritually benefits THEM...who bloody knew...?? So now I try to remember to bother them all day long, and get used to bugging them for every little thing...like we're besties...which we actually are! Another freaky thing...we don't just have one or two spirit guides...we have MANY...like DOZENS!!? I KNOW...totally freaky!! This is coming from mediums whom I trust [and that's a short list] and straight out of the mouths of THEIR spirit guides.
It's actually comforting, like I have an entire team of good guys looking out for me...as do us all...but I do feel a bit sorry for them to be stuck with such an ordinary, boring human being, lol.
Maybe that'll be my duty, or penance...to do the same for an individual of the next generation.
Yes, I thand them every night before I sleep. I'm not religious but have always had a strong belief since a small child. I just try and put out to the universe, gratitude and ask for help when I need. Which is often lol

Hi Richard a similar experiance happened to me at the British hotel,Valletta,Malta.Sat with my wife and amember of staff late on when a shadowy figure walked up the stairs and dissapeared.Only I saw it and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.Never mentioned it to my wife as not to scare her and we stayed for a week and it never occured again.We later found out the hotel was built on some catacombs.

When I was around 9 or so , an apparition appeared kneeling by the side of my bed. Elderly chap, mid 60’s. Wearing a striped shirt,collarless with a stud. Braces,very wrinkled face,short cropped white hair. Just stared at me. Closed my eyes then opened them again, he’d gone. We lived in what was the old station master’s house and I believe it was him. That was in Chester-le_Street, Co.Durham around 1970
I brought a my first house & started to do it up. Long story short, I experienced something that to this day still shakes me to my core. One night laying in bed my bedroom door handle moved down & the door opened. No one there. As I lay there frozen in terror I could feel hands moving across the duvet. The next day I carry on working on the house & I rounded a corner & stood in the corner of the room I just entered was an old lady looking straight at me. She was solid & looked very confused & angry at me. I admit I screamed & before my eyes she evaporated. Turns out the lady had passed away in the home & was confused why I was changing things in her home. It was explained to me she didn’t know she had died & was still in her home. I had the house blessed as I felt she needed help to let go. After that the atmosphere of the home being lighter & much warmer. Before that I was a complete skeptic but now I know it’s real as I’ve experienced it first hand
When I was five years old I was looking out of the dining room window of our house at my father and two brothers playing in the garden, when I felt a hand on my left shoulder. I quickly turned around to see who was there, but the room was completely empty. I thought it might be one of my brothers playing a trick on me, but when I looked back out of the window, they were still in the garden with my father. At that moment I got scared and ran into the kitchen, where my mother was standing at the sink doing the washing up and there was no one else in the house. My grandmother had died only a few days earlier and looking back now, I wonder if it was her coming back for a final goodbye.
That's quite fascinating Chris and I'm certainly glad you posted your experience. It so closely matches mine that I NOW believe what I've been trying to dismiss as nonsense (for the past 59 years), was real. I too was 5 years old and the night that my Dad's Mother "Grandma" died, something happened that has never happened again since. It was about 10:30 PM. My bed time was always 9:00 P.M. I had been sleeping fitfully for the past hour and a half, whereas I normally dropped off quickly. I turned over on my stomach, just lying there listening to the faint distant sound of the television that my parents were watching in the living room. I faintly heard my parents talking to one another. Suddenly, I felt a hand (quite distinctly and flat palmed) begin to rub my back. Slowly from side to side then up and down. I knew that I had just heard my parents voices emmenate down the hallway only a moment ago so it couldn't be them. I just layed there tense with my eyes closed tight trying not to believe what I was thinking. The motion of the hand on my back just continued. I was too scared to move, so I decided to start making "moaning noises" as though I was waking up because of being distributed. As I did... the sensation of the hand disappeared at once. I've experienced poltergeist activity and have even seen a road ghost, who I honestly thought I would run over before it/she blinked out of existence, in front of my vehicle. I was with a witness who can corroborate my story exactly.
On November 9th 2002 I bought a group of friends for the night at your Derby Gaol. Three of us spent some time in the far cell, one with a video camera and the other two of us at the other end of the cell. It was pitch black and all we could see wat the red light on the night vision camcorder. There was two of us near the closed door and out of nowhere, a dirty cream coloured self illuminating 'shadow' came down the wall from one end of the cell towards us. Both my friend and I voiced our surprise of seeing it. It was over within 2 seconds but we both saw it. Imagine old dirty cream cloth cotton in the dark, slightly lit coming at you. There was no sound and gone before we could say 'oh wow, didja see that' ? I love your story. Keep it up mate.
Witnessing a ghost (stone tape memory?) and a shadow entity (Demon) must be quite different in level of fright/unsettledness.
His ghost was conscious same as the ones i have seen.

I saw one one in uttoxeter in my old Georgian house I ran down the stairs and jumped Ito one of the bedrooms like you would as a child being silly ..a small dark shape ran round a chair no mistake like a black dust cloud but small like a dog as if I’d startled it the hairs went up on the back of my neck

I think of poor ghosts up in an attic or in a wardrobe or closet, just trying to hang out peaceably, being battered and harrassed by a group of hunters waving an armful of metal electronic instruments, all talking at once: "Are you here? Can you say something, move something, hit something, talk into this? Perform for us, please!". Oh, I think we are alone -- why did they leave?!

I've lived in several haunted places but never encountered an apparition; I worked for several years in a famously haunted building in a major city and it was a daily dread. There are times when there's nothing human or person about them: disturbing sounds, drops in temp and quickly moving shadow people. Everyone who worked there had to deal with it, including, for example, getting permission to leave the building before the sun went down. Not vampires, but the activity ramped up at certain times. The history of the building is well known and it's quite old but no one has ever identified a person or specific incident.

Yes I agree we shouldn’t be scared of ghosts whether they’re residual or interactive Ive had a couple of experiences and I didn’t realise they were ghostly till afterwards! I spoke to one who appeared quite solid and just like a person until she disappeared!

I experienced a ghost who was rattling a closet door in our room at an old hotel. My husband and I were staying in the "haunted room," over a Halloween weekend and the room was haunted by the previous owner's wife.

I know exactly what you mean! I’ve seen the full bodied apparition of a monk! I felt him, and let me tell you he wasn’t good! I later found out that monks once used the land for grazing livestock and I’ve heard of someone else who has claimed that a monk haunts kings road! That’s where I saw him!

Seen a 'Stone tape theory' type of apparition twice... Plus I've seen a shadow person (Pitch Black) entity that was throwing things about & banging things around... 😮
I once saw a ghost or shadow person during night, and yes, I saw a black shape and I couldn't see through it, as if it was very thick or opaque.
