Spot on brother, got 1 for my VDUB, obviously not a Ford Performance sunstrip lol
Mines a blank matt black 1.
But sweet little tutorial bro👍
I kind of like the idea, but I live in New England, which means lots of snow and ice in the winter, which means cleaning the car off would likely destroy these. I think I'm going to have to try an interior solution since for me it's just to block the sun. Like maybe the window cling shade things whatever they're called, cut to size, or even just in carefully cut strips.
Yeah the interior solution is just as good. And to be fair it will last a lot longer than the exterior ones.
@@2pokeryan For me it's just about blocking the sun when it hits that spot around 5pm or so,. The visors don't really help, neither do sunglasses, but a strip right there would. I have some of that window shade cling for inside windows at the apartment I may cut a strip of to use for that. Even if I have to use some clear tape to hold it in place it'll likely make driving less of an issue when the sun is at that spot.
I like the idea that you put it on the outside of the car for fast removal if have to be
It’s a lot easier to install having it on the out side. And hides the mirror in the middle of the window to.
Cheers Ryan
Man, that loud intro made my jump off my chair XD.
Sorry mate, I have since changed and sorted out all the audio in my later videos.
Isn’t meant to install from inside after you prep the vinyl?
Thx man
From the front view why does the sides of the sun strip look curved down a little? Is it just because of the window and how it's curved?
Nice
What should we do if bubbles form? Even when pushing them outwards it causes wrinkles. Thanks
If you cant manage to push them out, you can take a thin needle and pop them. Result might not be a 100% perfect, but it will look a ton better than having bubbles
Would using a hair dryer on high heat be as effective as the heat gun? Guessing it's gonna work the same
Yess it would mate. If anything will be better as you will find it harder to burn the sunstrip
sick bro just need a tickle in the corners
Mint. How do i stop it arching in the middle mate? Cut a straight line when its on? Cheers
If you Sunstrip is pre cut I wouldn’t worry it shouldn’t arch in the middle.
@@2pokeryan its just a parallel edge strip but the screen makes it arch for some reason. bought another ill rip the old one off and try again. cheers again.
@@esseel7896 you didn’t stretch it by any chance when putting it on ? Only way I can think it did this.
@@2pokeryan no mate it just seems to want to lie naturally in an arc. ill give it another go . determine to get it straight.
Pepformance? Is that a typo?
alrighthenducks haha I have only just noticed that 😂 messaging the guy now saying that it got a p instead of an r well spotted sir
@@2pokeryan I tried to fit one on my corsa yesterday, ballsed it right up. They are quite difficult on mine because the glass is quite curved and there is a rain sensor 5 inches down.
alrighthenducks yeah on my old car I messed the first one up. but placing water under it helps a lot. But with an extra set of hand would so much easier 😂 . And that the thing you have to watch out for is the rain sensor as if that’s cover your wiper blades will keep going off
Ford pepformance ?
Does it not get rubbed away by the wipers ?
Lot of MOT places will fail it nowadays if wipers touch sunstrip, best to position it out of the way of wipers
i typed "how to install a sunstrip" into youtube and a video with the exact same car as mine came up with a guy installing the exact same banner im trying to install came up, im scared
That is a bit wired. But that perfect for you. As you can see how it looks on the car.
Wtf kinda tint is that? Tint goes on the inside of the car lol
Is the same tint they use for the rear windows. Most window tinting places do it.
@@2pokeryan nah bro... U are supposed to install it on the inside my guy. Cant believe u did a whole video on this lol. All good pimps fuk up too.
Curving down at the sides looks sad. Literally. If you cut it correctly, It does not come out that way. Also it is supposed to be applied to the inside. Change title to "How not to install..."
think youll find sun strips can be on the inside but also the outside there are a billion videos doing this exact thing and thousands of forums discussing this
I love that I searched for “sun strip install” for my ST and this was the first one. Cookies or no cookies, that was a nice coincidence.
CZcams doing it thing 😆
LITERALLY SAME
