      Pub stops are great! Pick a good pub, try not to go when too busy (wedding etc) relax enjoy. Its a win win for campers and the pub x

    Roxy certainly enjoyed herself. Lovely to see. I love German food. So the pub would get a yes from us. Some stunning walks there too. Good to support the pubs. We need them to stay open. Having a tough time at the moment. Thanks for sharing. 😊👍

    Hi David and Rachel a great video as ever and what a stunning location looked so peaceful and ideal to relax and also I can see how no phone signal would be an added bonus! Looks like you all had a wonderful time all

      Thank you Daniel. It really was beautiful and a very different pub menu.
      We really enjoy it when there is no phone signal - but just not for too long 😂

    Great pub stop, definitely good when they refund if you eat, too many people sneak in late and leave early! Pubs need our help 👍

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, some are really struggling and can made a big difference. Was a nice evening away and everyone is a winner all be it was very quiet which I’m personally not complaining about but was a shame for the pub as the food was great and price reasonable and lovely area. If you watched the weather forecast for the area you would have expected to be snowed in for the week. That didn’t work out so back to work tomorrow…. You win some, you lose some. Have a great week - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

    What a lovely pub, a German twist, sounds interesting, food did look very nice, no mobile signal but at least the tv reception will be excellent 🙂 nicely presented vlog, Trev Debz and Tyler

      Thank you - it’s worth checking out if you don’t mind the lack of phone signal - nice large car park and lovely views around the area along with tasty grub! Catch you soon - All the very best, David & Rachel 👍

    When you said no Internet or phone signal, I thought it would be good to know what the TV signal was like then you mentioned it was good, I thought it would be. I enjoy the TV in the van when we have no Internet. 😁 Beautiful location, I’ve spent a lot of time in Stokesley and Great Ayton over the last couple of years as my sister was looking for a house there but she eventually bought a property in Jesmond. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.

      It was so funny - not a jot of phone signal but the tv was Bob on!
      Great location & very different menu.
      We enjoyed it xx

    Hi David & Rachel, always been known locally as Chop Yat, no idea why though. We love pub stops but never used the Buck, will give it a try this year.

      Thank you - well worth checking out! I think it’s from an old Norse name is where Gate became Yat. I did read that folks were just calling it Gate nowadays hence the question. My Dad always called it Chop Yat. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍

      It is definitely worth a visit - very different menu to normal - there were items on the menu I hadn’t heard of but the chef kindly sent us a sample to try - can’t ask for more than that!

    I used to fly down to Helmsley from Stokesley on my motorbike back in the day , its a very popular route for the bikers....i always called it Chop (YAT) . Been down that road many time on the way to Flamingoland

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Před 5 měsíci

      There were no bikers out on Sat as it was very wet but I can imagine it would be different on Sunday with the sun making a rare appearance.
      I didn’t know that’s the way to Flamingoland! Ehhhh it’s years since I went there!

    I remember my dad calling it it Chop Yat each time we passed through it on day out in the car. I've always presumed it was just a Yorkshire pronunciation.

    Hi both, nice video 👍
    How do you find out what pubs accommodate motor homes is there any specific apps Thanks Bri

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Bri thank you for your kind feedback / comment. We use a range of Apps including Brit Stops, Pitch Up and we are also a bit cheeky and have been known to ring a pub / hotel and ask if it’s ok (we did this with the George @ Piercebridge) worst case they say no.
      We make sure that we give back by eating / drinking at the pub as so many are struggling so much at the minute which is sad.
      Hope that helps
      Rachel & David 💕

    Are there toilet and shower facilities you can use

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I believe there is normally - in the green building however when we booked we were told that the pipes had frozen so the facilities weren’t working on this visit, but presume they will be operational once the weather improves.
      There are toilets at the village hall that David went to.
      The food was very different to a standard pub but very nice and warm & welcoming x

    Not sure about “ Chop Gate” but it’s definitely the North York moors and not North Yorkshire Moors.
