    I do love how all league players collectively agree that not playing league is the best decision.

    one thing that's important to remember, the best players don't always make the best coaches, just like the best employees don't always make the best managers, they're two different skill sets and put together properly makes for wonderful teamwork.

      yeah it's time League or esports in general got recognized as sports.

    • @loldoctor
      @loldoctor Před 7 měsíci

      @@StarAZ People have been saying this since SCBW days. Back then, a lot of it came from wanting respect and recognition, not just being laughed at for taking video games seriously. Nowadays, the idea of taking video games seriously is way more acceptable, and is only becoming more accepted as times goes by. Competitive BW is older than the target demographic for esports itself. I don't think it will ever be considered "a sport" in the way that basketball is "a sport," but I do think that level of respect that people are looking for will eventually be attributed to esports and players.

    • @StarAZ
      @StarAZ Před 7 měsíci

      @@loldoctor Haha BW was a bit ahead of my time. I was a kid in China when it was big and I don't think BW ever got an official Chinese release.
      I'll settle for similar recognition as chess.

      It shows how developed the ego of the average player is. In their mind the player HAS to be above them in order to coach them like some sort of hierarchy of power, also serving as the main motivation for their ranked experience to be that they must “prove” that they are better than their peers to exert pressure.
      This is in contrast with improvement for improvement’s sake which is where you actually get high level… well anything really. They have nothing to prove, simply something to gain from each experience, to learn.
      If the common league player’s ego were half of what it was, honestly the playerbase would be totally cracked.

    I remember back in university my roommate basically just kept yelling at me to build more pylons before I got supply blocked in SC2 and that brought me from bronze to silver lol. Some coaches are better than others but they all help.

    Just wanted to add to the first part of the video:
    VOD/match reviews take ages. Even if the person watching the VOD can't perform what they were watching, having someone experienced watch those VODs and give feedback is EXTREMELY time valuable

    on the subject of coaching; its like saying 'a director should be a better actor or atleast as good an actor like the actor hes directing'. It makes no sense; theres the talent of incorporating directions and making them work, and theres a separate talent of analyzing behaviour and putting it into words of how it can be improved upon. The one cant live without the other and both get better with mutual understanding. Its like this in sports, as it is in the arts (where im from). just imo, and you put it well i think

    • @DjVerox
      @DjVerox Před 7 měsíci +1

      there has to be a basic understanding of the game, and ofcourse if faker is your coach for example, theres other psychological factors. but there have been cases where the coach hasnt ever even played the game himself and produced world champiions (was going to type examples here, but its in almost every sport lol)

  • @Wh0zManz
    @Wh0zManz Před 7 měsíci

    That perspective that he’s mentioning is “objectivity”. You can go back and watch your own replays but you’re subject to your own personal biases every second that you’re reviewing footage. There are plays you never analyze because you just think they’re good plays but a coach can say “every time you go for this dive and it fails you’re win rate drops 20%. It’s probably not worth the risk”. Remaining objective is difficult for any professional in any field and the ones who can remain objective the best are usually top performers/visibly improving compared to others. Such a great topic 👍🏽 to be expected from Broxah

    It shouldn't be that hard to figure out that coaches can bring a level of theoretical and intellectual contribution to a team even if they aren't physically as good at the game as the current pro

  • @HolyKnights1

    Poppy is one of the best champions in the current meta in my opinion because we have some many champions with jumps and she counters all of them which makes her insanely good in almost every game. I love to play with Poppy in the jungle and to be honest she indeed makes Lee Sin cry because he can't do anything vs her. But many other champions are the same way since she counters so many spells with her W, E and even with her ult. She is insane pick so I wonder why she is not picked that much but I strongly recommend her!
    Btw great video man and love your work. Big fan. 😊

      It's called Porofessor and yes it's allowed by Riot.

    • @coolpapabell22
      @coolpapabell22 Před 7 měsíci

      P. sure that's Porofessor. I don't fully know what Riot rules are on plugins, but I'm sure you could make a tool that does that totally legally. It can calculate how much effective gold each opponent has by adding up the value of all their items (viewable in game), or track their gold from kills, CS etc. as the game goes on....as long as it uses info coming through your client, it's totally fine. Maphacks and such would be somehow reading server info, and that would be a big no-no.

    a coach even if not smarter. Is someone thats looking with a fresh set of unbias eyes and will catch things that you don't. You're consistently making certain mistakes because you don't realise you make them anyway. That's not on you. It's just how the human brain works. If you realised every mistake you or your team made no game or sport would need teachers
