The easiest way to get the molds to release even the most delicate filigree molds is to put paper clay in mold then pop in freezer for 10-15 mins then they pop right out! Wahlah! Perfection

Hey, Pork Chop! Excellent helpful idea. Even after an hour or two, the mold that’s intact by then, can easily be coaxed out nicely.
Great use for hot glue! So easy!
Try brushing your mould with a thin coat of pigment powder like Pearl X, Perfect Pearls, or possibly even Shimmer Powder (haven't tried that yet) before you squeeze in the glue (or pour in the resin, squish in the clay, etc). The coloured powder melds with the substance without it being just a surface treatment that might obscure details. If your substance is clear (like resin or hot glue), you can get some really cool translucent effects. I've done a lot of epoxy resin casting with silicone moulds and brushing the mould with powder is one of my fav effects. I've also done it with epoxy clay and hot glue. I love working with epoxy resin but hate the curing time.

Paper clay is super easy to use with moulds. Just brush the mould with corn starch or baby powder before you put the clay in and it pops right out. Also, why in the world would you wait until it is dry? Just pop it out and do another. When it is still soft you can bend it and form it and glue it on your project. Let it dry in place there.
Can you please tell me what to do with the shrinking and the gap that appears when i glue two parts of the clay?

What brand of paper clay do you recommend? Mine comes out in pieces, and that's with cornstarch in the mold. These are intricate and delicate pieces...

Love this top tip that is also the best product review I've seen on molds. I've been wanting that stars and moons mold for years but never got it because the paper clay was an unknown. Now I know without a doubt that I'm MUCH better off purchasing premade shapes out of resin, etc.

Lol I'm glad to hear about this because I bought those molds and I was thinking after I got done with the clay I had I wasn't looking forward to having to keep trying to find it. Now glue I have a ton of! Liked Rijacki Ledum ideas, too.

There have been a lot of vids on using paper clay with these IOD moulds. Using cornstarch is one tip for releasing from the mould, and others have shown that if you un-mould shortly after pressing the paper clay in and allowing it to dry slowly you don't get the breakage.
You have no idea how happy this makes me! I have so many moulds and no longer use them because I stopped using resin!

And, hot glue comes in colors with glitter in it!
You could probably also use the Mod Podge Melts sticks or colored glue sticks. You might want to try a little mold release before laying down your glue just to make release easier and leave no glue residue behind.
You can also try UV resin.

This mold wouldn't be compatible with uv resin because of the opaque property of it. The light needs to be able to penetrate the mold so it can get all the way through the deepest part.

I use micah powder as a medium. Small amounts for this mold, fill halfway and stir, then fill in the top and stir again. Make sure you stir up from the bottom of the mold!
Alexandra, gotta say you look fab with new hair and matching lipstick.
Try using paperclay not prima clay. Let it sit for a bit and heat your oven to 170. Pop in, turn it off and let it dry overnight or set it outside in hot sun.
Also there is epoxy clay that is much sturdier and air dry as well. Great for trinkets and charms.

I'm new to your channel and love, love, love your organization unit behind you. Pretty top, and perfect slats for folders and drawers for everything else. I wish my craft room looked half as nice. I have a question. Would spraying molds PAM first help to get out the paper clay? I just bought paper clay and am waiting for some molds I bought online to come in. I know I can use corn starch but I wonder if PAM would work? PAM is a spray people use instead of greasing their pans before baking cakes and cookies. Have you ever tried that? Just interesting in knowing if it would work or not. I'm new to molds and clay but I want to make some Christmas ornaments as gifts this year. Thanks for sharing. Just subscribed!

how long to you let the clay set in the tray before removing it
You can use silicone chalk too. Takes longer to dry.

Can you do this to make molds for furniture to make anthropologie peice?.
Using a polymer clay like PREMO works great and isn't nearly as messy as using glue.
Saving this for the tips in the comments, so good. Not liking the idea of using the glue gun.

I havent had any stick on mine, i would try soap and water and it that does work alcohol is my next go to and then glass cleaner and then blending solution; thats my cleaning escalation!

I have 3 of these Ad Tech glue guns and they are the worst !!! Mine drips constantly wasting my glue sticks and one even blew up on me I was using it and it made a sound sparks jumped out of it. This brand of glue gun is the absolute worse!!!!!
