I'd put Noelle on Number 1 though. Noelle is not just a dps-tank, many forget that when she has her shield up, she can heal the whole team at each hit she does, and the more dmg she does the more she heals. So, she doesn't just provide protection (with shield) but can also heal you, if you've built her with a dps build, she can also deal dmg. And she also farms ores pretty easily. She's practically the only free character you need.
also noelle´s damage stacks with defense making all the supposed "trash" artifacts god tier in her hands. her and barbara are the easiest to build and use characters in the game.
@@HiHelloHi - Because it alone does not work. Xiangling is EXTREMELY DEPENDENT on Bennet. Without Bennet she doesn't work on any team at all. Is her damage good? Yup. Is it relatively strong? Certainly. I won't deny it, but this abusive dependence on Bennet makes her bad. If she doesn't have Bennett, it's simply not worth using her. In my opinion, Sucrose would be better in this Top 5.

@@ngoway9808 no, that's just his straight damage....I have Gaming, Yanfei, Qiqi, and Wriothesley. Wriothesley does all the fighting for enemies not cryo resistant, no one else cycles except Qiqi for heals if needed and Yanfei's ult for shield if needed

Also the title of the video is "Most 'Powerful' free characters", and power doesn't equal survivability, it is the overall strength of a character, and in those terms Xiangling is better than Noelle. If you like Noelle that's fine and I respect it but saying Noelle better than XL is a subjective opinion.

@@otroweonllamadoseba Genshin is a team game though. Solo damage is not a realistic factor at all and should not be considered when gauging unit strength. Xiangling has a place in the meta (a very comfortable one at that) and Diluc does not, full stop. Xiangling's power PRECISELY comes from the fact that she is a great vessel for buffs thanks to her high proportion of vaporized MV. If you only care about solo damage, then you'd also have to put Raiden very low down because her damage is also low solo (no burst stacks, no attack buff, no shred). Raiden, like Xiangling, is meta because she is a good vessel for buffs like Bennett and C6 Sara. Other characters, like Xiao or Eula also very good solo damage output but are inversely hindered by poor buffing potential and are less meta as a result. If you popped into any serious TC channel and said that Diluc was even comparable to Xiangling, you'd be laughed at.
I swear I spent a ALOT of primos wanting Xiangling when I was lower rank and I got 2 of them only to find out I can get her for free. So now she's at C2.
That's good, her C3 and C4 are incredibly strong so getting Xiangling cons are very good, she's got some of the strongest 4 star cons in the game along with Xingqiu

If you have to wish on a banner then the character isn't technically "free" especially since you might not actually get them and you're still spending Primogems that could have even been bought with real money. And even if you want to bring up the starglitter shop that's still not technically free since you have to buy him with starglitter. But in the events where you get free characters you don't have to wish for them _OR_ buy them with permanent in-game currency you use the event currency which you're literally guaranteed to get for free just by doing the event.

Otherwise, according to your logic, event characters aren't free either because you have to spend event shop currency to get them. Items (characters and weapons) from the starglitter shop are considered free because you get starglitter from wishing, which you do by spending primogems which can be acquired through in-game activities that don't require any real money be spent.

So yes, event characters are free while characters who aren't in events are not considered free.

Correction for Fischl. You can get her from the Unreconciled Stars event (for old players) and Midsummer Adventure (for new players). For Xingqiu, Liyue free characters event and for him only free event.

Benny boy was released in an event. He counters powercreep. Charlotte is one of the best healers in the game now. Kuki is amazing for off field electro reactions. And cheveruse is unbelievably good for monopyro teams
I've gotten diluc but since I levelled up my xiangling already and feel too lazy to use diluc (who's at lvl 1, mind you), I'll just keep using xiangling lol. Maybe one day I'll feel like levelling him up
Diluc was my first 5 star, got him from the beginner banner together with Benny, Xingqiu, Chongyun and Rosaria. So I rarely used Xiangling, because Diluc was there for me from the very start. I only use Xiangling for really specific domains or sometimes for certain dailies
If we go by characters that were knce free in an event, there's lots more to drop in. What I remember is Beidou, Sayu, Xingqiu, Dori and Fischl (from Golden Apple Pt. 2 too)
The fact that last 3 are obtainable in past events speaks volumes about 'free' nature. For those that never did those events they are anything but free, for example i got fishl about 1 year after i started playing genshin...
