- There is a trend going on the internet with the slogan, “We done with the 90s.” The trend implies that the 90s NBA actually wasn’t all that great of an era, and that Michael Jordan is not the GOAT because he dominated a weak era. If this is the case, and If the 90s NBA is a Joke, then LeBron is Still NOT the GOAT:

Lebron, Steph, Jordan, Kobe fans: *arguing over greatness and which era reigns supreme*
Jokic: Casually dominating while wanting to ride his horses back home lmao
It’s Jokic’s era and people need to accept and respect it.
He's dominating in a non-defensive era
Nah even Rebound is fed up with those little Lebron fanboys 💀
Oldheads like you have no shame. Y’all really thought you could slander the modern ( Better era) all the time with no payback huh? Now y’all crying all ova the net hope this will go on for years to come
This guy always tries to downplay Lebron… watch his old videos
@@theophilusjones6024 watch the end of the video then
I though it said “femboys” 💀
It's actually the Curry fanboys who keep saying that he's top 10 all time. They want to just brush Curry past Wilt, Bird and Magic. Lebron is already considered the second greatest of all time. I don't see why Bron fans would do this. It's definitely the Curry fans who say "Finals MVPs don't matter". What crybabies.
I despise these trends of trying to tear down the accomplishments of prior generations. Has the game evolved? Absolutely. Does that make everything that came before it insignificant? Not even a bit. 80s and 90s basketball was a totally different animal and Jordan dominated it. Modern players would play differently as well if they had Laimbeer or Ewing waiting to drop them every time they entered the paint or lacked analytical trends and trainers since they were 14. LeBron had the advantage of learning from the careers and moves of Jordan, Kobe (and he probably had posters of both on his walls), and countless others. Future generations will learn from the skills that LeBron and his peers brought into the game and will likely surpass them. Respect the game and all who contributed to it over the eras.
i agree with your point, but the opposite is just as true. mj defenders do everything to tear down all accomplishments from younger generation as well, wether you think lebron is the goat or not, you have to agree that there is no way in hell he deserves the hate he receives all the time
There’s still way more Jordashians tearing down the modern era than the other way around. 80% of Jordan fans hate the modern era and especially Lebron🐐
@@Melio160 So, I'm 38 and I think that kind of puts me in the right spot to appreciate both players. I grew up in the 90s idolizing Jordan, but I also read Slam magazine and watched Lebron's ascent at Mt. St. Mary's. in the 2000s. Each of them is a transcendent physical specimen who improved upon pieces of his game every season and gave us innumerable highlights and moments. I generally believe that Jordan was more dominant within his era and that MJ has the best pure story (Jordan also gets an enormous benefit that no other player will ever have from becoming the best player in the world right when NBA basketball went global with the 1992 Olympics), but that LeBron's longevity and numbers give him the better overall career. I just don't see the need to knock one down to try to prove my allegiance to the other. Mikan, Wilt, Jabar, Erving, Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Duncan, Bron, Jokic, etc. are all phenomenal basketball talents in their own right and I enjoy what each has brought to the game.
@@joshuafish98 i agree, i'm just saying that wether you like one or the other, trying to minimize and discredit the other to try and make your goat look better is wrong wether it's the older or the newer generation
The sad part is it's not only the younger fans tearing down older generations. It's also older generations tearing down this younger generation saying this player or that player would average 60 ppg today or that the nba is so soft today. Blah blah blah. You're not giving it justice by making it seem like it's only this generation of basketball fans tearing down other generations. It's always a generational thing whether it be the disrespectful youngsters or the old ass Karens who don't want change.
Tim Duncan is my goat (I’m insanely biased)

There is a case to be made for Tim Duncan though, even looking at all eras. He's a top 5 player all time and he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Spurs fan and I have him top 10
my top 5 is mj kareem lebron timmy and kobe
my top 5 goat canidates (not ordered, you can make a case for any of these to be the goat imo) is bron, mj, tim duncan, kobe, kareem, oh yeah you cant forget about naz reid too

I love how Jordan fans can say the era were currently in is soft and not as competitive as it once was but when lebron fans apply double standards it’s all of a sudden seen as propaganda
@@lRockyI Cuz first thing is true and the second one is not 🤔
@@Coopercrack so double standards r only wrong when its not aligning with ur agenda

Fair
Eras means there will never really be a stand alone GOAT unless something completely out of the ordinary happens. Plus due to rule changes, actually tracking of stats and stuff means we can't even use stats to rank players (if we had Wilt and Russells blocks and steals or Oscars steals counted that would make a massive shift in people's opinions of them).
Who is the best will always be subjective too as every metric has someone different.
I personally use a few different titles that sound similar but have differences depending on metrics. For example MJ is GOAT because of his impact, accolades, dominance and stats. However, Lebron is the Greatest Player of all time because his consistency over such a long time pushes him above others. While Lebron hasnt dominated as strongly as MJ did he's still often been the best overall each year for a long time and for atleast 18 years now has been one of the top players in the league.
End of the day, what generally sets greats apart from regular players is effort (work ethic), heart and basketball IQ. All greats have those 3. Its what sets them above those with amazing stats but little winning as a result. They did what was needed when it's needed not just when it was easy or convenient.
Its hard to really rate Wilt or Russell correctly as the league they played in wasn't very equal. Russell had stacked teams and Wilt was just so much more physically compared to what they versed. Plus you had underlying social issues which does affect awards and accolades and reporting bias at the time. I usually give Wilt a nod as the statistically greatest ever and Russell as the best overall player (taking into account his off court things).
So basically no true GOAT as such but rather about 4 or 5 greatest to ever play each with their own title or badge due to different metrics and eras.
Finally, a logical person.
Yes, there will, and yes there is. Stop trying to make anyone but Jordan the GOAT. We ain't going for it 😂
The goat is determined by what the vast majority of people agree on. Jordan always has an always will have the vast majority. Because he's simply has the best case by absolute light years.
We done with the 'insert era I didn't watch' is a more appropriate slogan.
The 90s had Shaq .. who tf could stop him in this weak era? .. no fuckin one thats who
Shaq also got swept all the 90's by guys who came in the 80's. Stopped getting swept when Kobe became essentially the best player in the league. Almost like the 90's was harder than the 2000's if these guys couldn't win until the 80's players aged out or retired, hmm.
@@_M.... yes Shaq the Lakers got swept as a team but im talking about prime Shaq in todays league he would be an even bigger monster even Steve Adams would have problems

Thank you for your service
The NBA will always be lit no matter what era …. 🔥
"We Done With The 90s" would be funny if the 14-year olds weren't using it as ACTUAL arguments to discredit Jordan 💀
I always argued that Duncan vs Kobe would be a better rivalry than Magic vs Bird if they came from different conferences instead of being both from the West. They would meet in the Finals so many times and it would have been epic. They both dominated the 2000's.
It’s always so funny to see the large discrepancy in fanbases on YT and tiktok. This comment section is actually giving opinions with facts and statistics whereas tiktok commente just repeat that same dead phrase 100x
Great reductio ad absurdum here 👏👏
The 90s were great but its a problem when old heads say that mj could cook the new generation
I disagree. Back in the 90’s, some our OG’s would claim Wilt, Kareem or Russell. We never trashed/ made champanyes against those eras because they felt that way.
This was an assassination of the we done with the 90s trend
You forgot, if this is the best era ever. The Detroit piston would be one of the best teams ever. Averaging over 110 points a game, compare it to teams in 1990s-2000s
Pistons would be a dynasty
While I don’t agree with that “We done with the 90s” videos they are pretty funny 😅
Never heard this we done with the 90s thing. Some kid on tiktok probably started it. They are mad cause they didn't see the 90s. They're not showing what they know, they're showing what they don't know.
Jonny Arnett made the same video about this topic 😂
But Lebron is the only player that was dominant in both the dead ball era and the smart ball era
Flopping and traveling will allow that.
Dominant in the smart ball era? From 2014-present is the smart era LeBron has only two championships in 10 years and no League MVPs. Multiple players had accomplished more. The dead ball era ended in 2007 and at this point in LeBron’s career, he didn’t take the league by storm yet. Lebron dominated the buffer period the era between the dead ball and smart ball 2008-14.
and the only one to get swept in two decades
The bias against lebron is crazy to say that steph and Kobe and Tim Duncan are better than him are crazy.
Especially when curry needed KD to beat lebron when lebron didn’t have uber drivers as teammates
He didn't "need him" in this exact scenario you're talking about. Uber drivers as teammates? 2018? They literally got swept. That doesn't prove that he needed KD to win the series. If it had gone to 7 games and was close to the end, then yeah. I mean just think about it@@bruhmomento7563
almost as crazy as putting a bonafide professional choker in the same sentence as his Airness himself, freaking crazy
@@bruhmomento7563Bro what kd needed curry to beat lebron
Anyone that can win against Wilt, deserves to be in the GOAT conversation.
The same Utah Jazz team that Micheal Jordan bodies in the 1998 finals beat the Duncan/Robinson Spurs 4-1 and beat Shaq/Kobe Lakers 4-0 before Jordan solo carried the Bulls to beat them in the finals. LM
TL;DW you can argue all you want for your favourite GOAT candidate to be THE GOAT, just don't be stupid about it
Not taking in to recent accolades but isnt DeAndre Jordan an All NBA and Defense selection?
Yes and hes a 1× all star
Yeah but he hasn’t been that type of player during the 22-23 Nuggets championship run.
3:32 “7 second offense”
*shoots the ball with only 4 seconds left of the shot clock*
common sense isn’t that common anymore
Well if he said Kobe/Duncan era was the hardest then I still have Mike as the goat since he played in that era and still was effective af with no help
This rebound unc is Js salty we done with the 90’s unc
I will not argue with anything here I don’t really care about this topic but I hate this argument with „Pace“. Every game is 48 minutes long, that never changed and why does the Pace matter for an INDIVIDUAL player? Like I genuinely don’t understand how people keep saying this, it doesn’t make sense. As you showed Kobe shot the ball 27!!! times a game in 2005/2006 while Harden for example who you showed shot the ball 25 times a game in 2018/2019. Pace doesn’t matter for individual scoring, it just matters how much you shoot.
Bron the goat but the 90s had some dudes.
Nahh he's a Sheep.....😂😂😂😂😂
Not with no 4-6 Finals record he aint
Where was defense factored in here? Because when I look at the two modern goats I feel they're lacking here to some degree.
I loved this video, absolutely factual. Sometimes the fans of some things really ruins your perception about it as a whole.
And doesn’t change the fact 90’s players are inferior..
Bro left out all the years lebron won chips except 2020
Still not the GOAT
Bro is defiantly the goat no one even comes close
@@44paranoia14dude are smoking crack
i’m genuinely surprised so many people are worked up this week over that sentence.
Jokic and Duncan are similar
interesting omission to show some "adjusted for pace" stats but then not apply that to the MJ vs Lebron teammate PPG comparison.
There isn't an option to have multiple "GOAT's" the meaning is in the title of the acronym, Greatest of All Time....which means there can only be one option...there has to be an objective, king of the hill answer. Only one player has all three: Most accolades, insane stats and most Championships without losing...we all know the answer to that
lol we done with the 90s
It's just a catchy slogan in an era of Tik Tok, view-farming and short attention spans. It's fun, but easily debunked.
LeBron makes a lot of stats because he continues to play against second units while most of players of his caliber will get rest on the bench. There is no mistery in why LeBron shocks time to time in 4th quarter … he scores too much un significant baskets … it has also a dramatic effect on his teammates
I do not agree with the logic, and Lebron is maybe not the best player in the last 10 years, but he is the most consistent in the last 20,so yes he maybe the GOAT. The game has evolved, Jordan is amazing but legends and Lebron haters are making it as it is not close or it is not possible to think Lebron is GOAT. My opinion: in 10 years Jokic will be the far and away GOAT, now it is debatable between Jordan and Lebron, maybe Curry in 3rd spot , but it is not as simple as Jordan end of story..
stephs defence just isnt good enough to place him that high imo
Just like what the video said, back in the days games were rougher that's why careers tend to end shorter. Today with all the technology to help player maintenance and less physical rules, careers could last longer. So I don't think longevity decides greatness
Jordan.
Consistency means nothing when you win less than other players
@@srensen3081 so is Lebron's, when he was 2nd place in DPOY voting he was 49th place in DWS
i mean murray should have an all star don’t act like he’s not all star caliber
This is going to keep generations learning about Jordan but there's going to b a majority of idiots screaming ignorance
2007 Bron was the same age as a rookie MJ bro
I kind of hate the era Steph has brought in. Just chucking threes and playing bare minimum defense. Say what you want the nba is only really watchable around the playoffs
I'm convinced this is a troll movement made by haters to get a rise out of NBA fans.
If you want stats, look for LeBron.
If you want rings, look for Russell.
If you want MVPs, look for Kareem.
If you want records, look for Wilt.
If you want impact, look for Steph.
If you want dominance in a position, look for Shaq.
If you want perimeter defense, find Gary Payton.
If you want athletics, find Shawn Kemp, Giannis or Karl Malone.
If you want greatness, look for Bird or Magic.

The same players are still gonna thrive the ones who ain’t will adjust quickly as they have in the past as the entire nba adjusted to the 3 point shot because they had common sense
Also in the “handball”
The players quite literally play the same in European physical rules

Been saying it for years timmy d underated and jokic the new goat
Jokic your white savior is overated, he plays like brad miller and greg ostertag, jokic wins mvps when his teams win 47/48 wins all season , hes a product of No Defense allowed, nba rigging and Magnets.
Tim Duncan is my goat, only because he doesn’t claim to be the goat.
How it's possible lebron with all the help can have only 4 rings?? Lebron put the loser mark to high. Maybe we will never see a loser like him.
Was the favorite to win 3/10 times tubby
And nobody could beat the KD warriors if you replaced LeBron with Timmy, Kobe, MJ, Kareem, etc.
Lebron might not be the best player of each era. But he did well in both eras. Can Steph survive the physicality of the hard ball era? Can Tim be still successful without an outside shooting in this era?
Kobe was the best player in the most competitve time. Kobe's the goat
No he is not
Not even close try again. Him passing away doesn't suddenly make him a better player than he is and he is arguably not even top 5.
pepe sanchez is still the goat
nba 90 is not week🤔🤨
nba 2020 is week
So what the 90s era and eras since all have something important that doesn’t mean ones better and it just doesn’t make sense to compare things like back then it is harder to score with more difficult rules and now today offense is way more different and you also think about the talent in the 90s just the average 20 points is an impressive thing now role-players that you probably haven’t even heard of average 20 points I know the awards Michael Jordan has with the six rings multiple MVPs and a defensive player of the year but in my opinion, I gotta go LeBron because if we are gonna be talking about era he actually could play in any NBA era and as dominant if not more than Jordan I think if LeBron plays in the 70s you all who’ve agree whether he’s lost or won, LeBron has been the 10 NBA finals and could’ve been to more but Jordan fans don’t point out how he loses to the Pistons how good he was once he came back to his retirement and could went to the finals whether how many points Pippen average that was a very impressive number for that time Michael Jordan got to play with Scottie Pippen his whole prime as LeBron has only played a few seasons, with other stars, he’s been with, and everybody says that he’s always on a super team, which is not true only super teams that are actually deserving of that title are all the Miami Heat teams. He was not been on others teams that you cannot consider super teams just because LeBron has been on that team and don’t agree with this new saying because the first time I heard it was a video telling who is the top 15 players of time and on that list is like players like Damian Lillard and Paul George
What I read most online is the opposite that Lebron can not compete in 90s era.
Can we please stop talking about LeBron and enjoy the moment? I'm almost 50 years old, and we are talking about crap when i was in high school and a virgin. Now I'm married with kids in high school. Just let it go.
I was with you until you said there's a case to be made for LeBron as the goat. I haven't heard one good case for him yet and I've been seeking them out.
everyone has there opinion my favorite is magic johnson, but MJ clearly is that GOAT whether you like him or not , that brand JORDAN and shoes is different , nobody ever got on that level of a BILLIONAIRE and i doubt labron will

yess in my goat triangle, Kobe and Steph are both above Lebron and Jokic likely on the way soon.
they all had more impact on and off the court.
Lebron is really great but he's more suitable for Most Consistent of All Time and Most Connections of All Time
and imo, teamwork and loyalty are too undermined when it comes to GOAT debate
NPC
Bron has same rings, more mvps and more finals mvps than steph, as well as having many more quantitative stats like total points rebounds assists and higher career averages. Bron has more finals MVPs and MVPs than Kobe as well as having better career averages and more quantitative stats. There is no argument for anyone but mj over Lebron. Now that I’ve posted a completely valid argument about Lebrons greatness I’m ready for the replies about how Lebrons meat is in my mouth and I’m a bronsexual.
First off Steph doesn't play good enough defense that it can even start to compare to lebron's, even if you take all of Steph's Career and Compare it to prime lebron (I used 15 years as well)
Lebron has a win share total of 231.4 to Steph's 128.0
Lebron has a win WS/48 of .244 to Steph's .203.
An OBPM of 7.4 to Steph's 6.2
A DBPM of 2.0 to Steph's 0.3.
And a VORP total of 130.8 to 65.6
Kobe's numbers are more or less the same as Steph's.
And don't you dare put Kobe and teamwork in the same sentence, run Shaq out if LA, didn't talk to his starting teammate for a year, and when it comes to loyalty he threatened to leave like 2-3 times. Steph has to build a couple schools first before he can reach lebron's level of off court greatness. And what connections has lebron had before the NBA Kobe and Steph were son's of NBA players that's enough connections for them. Jokic needs to play a lot more seasons and win a couple more rings, one ring and y'all are ready to place him above lebron 😂😂😂.
@@delanotownsend8297 tldr so I read the first and second sentence but mentioning bout teamwork was unrelated to Kobe, I was jus saying that's what happens in the GOAT talks. and as for the last sentence, I said it's on track not that he's on it already. but that's basically what yall did with Lebron too
>curry and kobe above lebron
News another classmate died
The argument you’re using for LeBron’s teammates is hilarious. Imagine LeBron playing with KD just 3 years in his prime. You’d think he’d be less successful or more successful than his 4 years with AD? Prime and strength of player matters a lot more than amount. Then you have to factor health. If you don’t want to sound like a petty hater try and give full context and not just use stats to prove a point
The real truth is Lebron is not deserving to be in the conversation. Forget about losing vs his comp more than he won, forget playing in the actually weakest era of the eastern conference by a good margin. He is one of the most limited skilled all time greats ever. Essentially always needs help because he has to hide his flaws among specially constructed teams. Laugable one-on-one skill set. Even the guys you put here, they all dominated him either directly or indirectly. Kobe crushed him in all star games head to head, blocked his shots and cooked him. Beat two team s that swept Lebron to win titles. The other three outright spank him hwhen they've played most of the time, lol. Bronsexuals are the worst thing to happen to the NBA and I hope they go away when their stat padding, PED "king" finally retires and the sports media start comparing someone else to MJ. Because they willl just start this thing over with someone else. Lebron has literally maximized the talent around him the least of anybody. Every year MJ had an all=star teammate (the same 1 guy 6 times) he won a ring after a dominant post season run. The all time Bulls team looks sad. Besty centert Artis Gilmore who left the team 5 years before MJ played. Best power forward 37 year ol Rodman who avg 4-8-1 and spent his good years playing against MJ. lol I could go on.
Saying lebron isn’t skilled invalidates your entire argument
@@bruhmomento7563 just say you can't read and go, lol.
But this misses a crucial point, LeBron played great in both the dead ball era and the smart movement era. No one else you named did both. Your argument pretends as if we can only look at one era at a time. However if we look at both collectively and add them up, it's LeBron James. Not to say this is a good argument, I also disagree with the "we done with the 90s" argument, judt saying this is a bad defeater to said argument.
Still a fun video regardless.
Anthony Bennetts 6.9had me rolling and if we done wit da nineties thing is true then Kobe the goat and I still think he better than me if we’re not done wit da nineties Kobe is my goat no matter what era we ain’t counting
Why are you (not only you you got my point) discuss the G.O.A.T ? Even people who know nothing about basketball know who the greatest basketball player is (ever) and no one can come close!
Lebron is my goat
You could flip the Bill Russell argument of how many HoF players he played with. How many bums did Bill Russell boost to the Hall of Fame 'cause he did all their dirty work?
The problem with LeBron's teammates is that Kyrie, Wade, and Davis were all great without him too, so it's not like he elevated them massively..
So much desperation to put Kobe here and trying to justify with random stats. Could have easily stopped with Timmy or put Shaq in there rather than Kobe.
This nga can’t hop off🙏🏾🙏🏾
no because u didnt talk about defense
done with the 90s was made by toxic LeBron fans to diminish the legacies of Jordan and kobe because they know LeBron doesn't stack up...period
How slow can yall be? Just the way u started the video is bad, bill Russell the goat? Yall know rings don’t make you the goat or even add much in your argument cuz u won championships
His whole take is garbage.
preach, brother, preach
