I met him the first time I ever competed at Q school. Lovely bloke, got a photo with him and had a long chat. Such a nice bloke and doesn’t deserve the hate at all
I do not condone the joke but there are too many George Bakers in the world trying to destroy people for making simple mistakes. He apologised straight away and this should have been enough, but there are too many who take pleasure in destroying others. A simple word of advice should have been enough. Social media can be a cesspit.
if the tweet was clearly a joke, then yes. but sometimes when someone tweets a "joke", its more just an offensive statement so i will only judge it once i know what the last piece was
Maybe the joke was not in the best taste, but losing everything because of it is overly harsh. What difference would such a joke make to anyone who has mental health issues? Would they be like, "oh no this darts player made a dark joke so now I'm offing myself"
So he made a joke caused hurty feelings opolgized but still lost his sponsorship...I wonder if Luke litter had said that would he have lost his... sounds to me like it was just the excuse they needed to pull out 🤔
I guess a lot of people don't like giving anybody a second chance, In this case - his sponsors and others. He apologized. Don't everyone deserve a second chance? That's what I was bought up to believe.
Why do you always post negativity about darts.. the guy made a mistake 2 years ago, he apologised 2 years ago and you try and make it fresh and new now Darts fans generally don't like negativity against our sport and cancel culture towards it
I think that's harsh for all his sponsors to drop him like that, he should have got a at most a fine or a suspension. Obviously if the intention had been malicious then that's a completely different thing, but I think he was just being foolish and didn't mean any harm.
DP has talked about his depression before so as someone who also deals with depression and anxiety issues, I took it as a call for help and not a joke . 💔🐾🐾🐾👊🏾. But what do I know?
he shouldnt have ever suffered such harsh consequences for that childish joke... wtf?! RIDICULOUS. people who are suicidal will make jokes constantly about it. we know this? maybe someone shouldve checked up on him?? knowing hes struggled in the past with mental health as well... so so stupid. feel so sorry for him. jokes are just jokes. people need to calm down crazy bullshit cancel culture.
Oml the irony that him loosing his sponsorships effectively ruining his life probably brought back his demons when i guarantee that joke he made didn't even have a fraction of the damage. And when he was invited to super series he donated HALF THE MONEY TO A CHARITY i mean i can't believe kind souls like this are crushed
Is a Joke but menzies shouldent interfere at all he made it worse he doet deserve this because it was a simpel mistake so ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ hope you get back diogo you deserve you paid for youre mistake or NOT if you agree like here
He’s got every right to do what he did, and the people giving him money have every right to withdraw their money if they don’t like what he said. Unlike some of the clowns here going on about ‘cancel culture’, it’s nothing of the sort. The guy today can open his front door and crack his crap jokes with his loudest voice, so he hasn’t been cancelled, contrary to the opinion of idiots. It’s just no one is daft enough to have him do it on their dime.
I'm more concerned that he was given residency in Britain as a schoolteacher, but gave it up to pursue a career in darts. Britain doesn't need any more mediocre darts players. We need schoolteachers. He should have been deported but instead he's now presumably living off the taxpayer on benefits.....and his ex wife is separately cluttering the country with her worthless presence.... no wonder Reform are doing so well in the polls.
But it’s a joke, not an opinion, a comment, or anything remotely seriously meant. It’s a joke. Equally insensitive jokes get told daily by both comics and Joe Bloggs down the pub, doesn’t cost them their jobs.
@@NicolaiAwesome Joe Bloggs aren’t in a position where people look up to them. I’m not saying he’s famous and I believe in the freedom of speech especially when it’s humoured. But if you’re in a position such as his, you’ve got to watch what you say. Like it or hate it, that’s the world we live in.
Everybody and their fucking aunty suffers from mental health these days, it’s almost fashionable. “Depression is the new black.” But as it’s so prevalent, it’s a touchy subject.
Met him in 2020 at a UK Open Qualifier. Got a picture with him and he was nice as pie, such a shame the way he’s been treated for a simple joke

Pathetic cancel culture.
Pathetic comment

I laughed at the joke. Dark sense of humour.. what’s the problem?

Luke Liitler's gf is a predator and literally no one cares

Mad how we live in a world where writing hurty words online can literally destroyed someone's career
what was the joke? punch line was blotted out
I just searched. "Bridges" is the punchline, I guess. Seems like no big deal to me, but people like getting butthurt nowadays
@@1972vulture People aren't different now xD
@@rieldebonk1044 nah, people are definitely more fragile nowadays
@@1972vulture Is that good? LMAO, makes no sense, Gen X Moment i'm afraid, at least online.
Bridges makes no sense as a punchline.
Rambles on for 9 mins.
They doesn't tell us the joke. Pointless video
If I were him, I would have never have posted such a twitter in the first place.
Thans how you knowhow how the world in General can stand nothinf from each other
Too many babies. This from a person that suffers from depression....🤫
The funniest thing about "Mental Health" is that no-one can define it
He’s a good lad
Sport should be about how good you are at the sport. I couldn’t care less about his sense of humour, let him play.
lost his marriage too
So sad!
Why do people jump?
Because society can't take a joke.
Imagine destroying someones' career and thinking you are the goody
damn
Pathetic and sad state of affairs.
So sad. One joke and he is gone.. it wasn’t a murder… just a joke.
Sticks and stones .........................
Why do, you talk, like there's, a comma, after almost, every, few words?
Because he’s reading from a script mate, not everyone’s a wordsmith and can have sentence after sentence roll off the tongue 🤝
I can't make it past 30 seconds of these videos which is a shame as they seem well researched. Monotone 1 word a minute delivery needs a bit of work.
