My âRoseaceaâ isnât that bad.. but once I start sweating or Iâm outside in the heat for long my face starts getting red and burns. Would these products work for me.
You might want to try it. I've used finacea in the past, and like it. I just ordered the azelic acid and been using it a week now. It's helped clear up this one spot on my cheek that has been bothering me for a while. (Forgive the spelling errors) it's pretty gentle(I've been doing it every other day) MUST WEAR SUNSCREEN! I think this makes you more susceptible to burns, plus just good practice. I haven't tried the second product she recommended here, but I bought it.
WOW !! Same same. I thought I am the only one who is facing these issues. Being a dancer I am facing so difficulty to practice dance. After 10 minutes of practicing a dance routine, my cheekbones look so red, inflamed, and the burning sensations are so bad. Any tips for burning sensation? Thanks in advance.
Same here! I get so red after the gym or when out in the sun, what works for me is wearing a hat and tons of sunscreen, and also my dermatologist recomend applying thermal water or chamomille tea (cold) to calm down the redness
omggg same when im not sweating my skin looks a bit red but when im under the sun for too long my forehead just becomes soooo red
@@tonylars4128 Spamming is scamming, and you're spamming the exact same comment on redness & rosacea videos. The crap you recommend claims to be a cure for rosacea, and it's heavily, HEAVILY marketed -- a sure sign of scamming.
Laser works by far the BEST for Rosacea. Had 3 session years ago - now I once a year at the most and it is not too expensive.
You sound like you have a much more mild form of Rosacea that doesn't require much maintenance! I go twice yearly to prevent Vascular Rosacea and it STILL flares up sometimes! I've had it for over 30 years!
The way she explain is really simple and understandable, ohh love her so much đâ€ïžđ§Ą
The Niacinemide serum by the ordinary is my ride or die, helped me so much with my black heads, spots, scars and rosacea
Is it drying though?
What....
I literally just found your channel today in search for rosacea treatments... watched an older video of yours and now you upload this!!! OH MY GOSH!!!
Love your channel!!! Thank you for your great work!!
I'm currently using Retin-A and have used a sulfur based wash -- doxycycline helped too!
Things are better but just curious on other options:)
When I was younger I had rosacea on my cheeks for years, now that Iâm 19 I only have it on my nose. It flares up very frequently and wearing a mask has unfortunately made it worse. If anyone deals with the same problem please let me know if you know anything that works.
Great video as always. But I just wanted to say that I'm really thankful that you've gone to the effort to pay an artist to create the illustrations on screen. I think its great to support artists and I think its really useful for viewers! (Especially the skincare steps one) and I just wanted to say thank you and that it hasn't gone unnoticed đâ€ïž
im like 2 months into skincare and ive used niacinamide everyday. the redness went from a high to a medium so far. regarding the sunscreen, it has the biggest white cast ive ever seen. i bought it for the ingredients but i had to take it off, and I'm very white so i cant imagine darker skin tones.
Robert Mocanu I use Puritoâs Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen, itâs SPF 50 and the white cast is negligible (if not invisible). I have combo skin (leaning towards oily on my nose) and it plays wonderfully with my skinâs different moods as well as my t-zone redness!

I still donât understand in which order to apply these. Please enlighten me!
omg I was just looking for azelaic acid products because I think my sensitivity has turned into actual rosacea, perfect timing for the video đ
My skin has always been overly "flushed", so I decided to cut dairy out as cheese can be a trigger for rosacea, and it's definitely helped, I have seen a huge difference. I want to get rid of it as much as I can though, so I am going to pair my diet with some skin care products :) Thanks for making this video!
Thank you sooooo much!! My rosacea is easily triggered, including cool or warm water. Due to a terrible sunburn years ago, many of the capillaries are now easily seen and thereâs nothing I can do. Makeup isnât something I use often because of it :/ . Rosacea makes even just simple face washing a major cause of more broken capillaries. My face feels itchy and burns like Iâm on fire usually during a flush event. My dermatologist put me on antibiotics (everyday for years now), as the only treatment that stops the little pustules that create that intense horrible itching! For all the appointments Iâve had for my rosacea, not once has my doctors ever mentioned sunscreen or recommended one thatâs not going to blow the heck up all over my freaking face . âAvoid the sun, spicy foods, acidity foods or drinks like tomato sauce, avoid intense heat or cold (I live in south Florida, but donât judge me, Iâm not a Karen), so I canât avoid a major trigger unless I never leave the house and never get near a window. All kidding aside, can people stop commenting on our bright flush faces? Noooooo, I didnât put on to much blush! I havenât used any makeup in YEARS. Yeeeeesh. We need more videos like this one Cassandra, btw youâre a joy to watch and your emotions are easily seen in your eyes and expressions. You are a beautiful soul.
P.S. Turn off the fucking facet when washing your hands, teeth and dishes! Yeeesh!
I don't have full on rosacea but I have some blood capillaries around my nose and some on cheeks that flare up every now and again. I recently started using niacinamide and zinc twice a day from ordinary and it pretty much all disappeared in 3 days. I'm very impressed đ
Victoria Montana My case is very similar, itâs around my nose and aparently only there no other place in my face has that always irritaded redness. Iâm wandering if this acids recomendated may be good for the rest of my face?
@@supersj4153 I'd definitely give it a go, I tried the AHA BHA solution as well, but only once and to be honest haven't seen any difference yet. Maybe look into some of the Inkey list products, they are really good also
Azelaic acid has saved my skin! Highly recommend it you suffer from rosacea
You put it after the moistrizer?
@@rotem1437 I would put it on before the moisturizer :)
@@yourdadsof1325 Someone help please! I bought the Niacinamide and the Azelaic acid and have no idea where to put it in my routine. Do I ask my face with my cleansers then use those and lastly moisturizer or?
@@spookysins4784 you should cleanse first with your (one or two) cleanser(s) then you should exfoliate with the azelaic acid.
After that you can use niacinamide and then your moisturizer and sunscreen since those two are always the last steps. Hope I helped :)
@@yourdadsof1325 Oh so the azelaic acid can be used as an exfoliate? I have been looking for one! And thank you so much!! I have a last quick question though, I do have the AHA + BHA peeling solution which ofc is meant for one-two times a week use so on those days I wouldn't use the azelaic correct? I know she mentioned using the peeling solution then the niacinamide is okay but there is no use for the azelaic on those days correct?
Azelaic acid isn't available to the average Canadian. It is dermatologist prescribed only. That being said, if you are feeling a little criminal, and rather be caught red handed, than red faced, you can get it shipped from the US or UK.
Can you please give me a website where i can get it ?

Thank you!!! All I ever see is oily/ combo skin or acne routines and it drives me nutsssss. I appreciate you helping us rosacea ladies out!
can you make the best the ordinary skincare routine for hyperpigmentation?
Yes, please do!
Omg this has been the most eye-opening and applicable video Iâve stumbled across for skincare, Iâve been in denial for years about my rosacea because I didnât think there was much I could do about it or that there were any products out there to help! Thank you so much Cassandra for putting this out there, you certainly know your stuff â€ïž
I love The Ordinary, and I can vouch for both the niacinamide and the azelaic acid! I have rosacea and these has brought my redness down to as close to non-rosacea as I might ever get. I use CeraVe for cleansing, these plus the TO Marine Hyaluronic Acid and an SPF50 and guys, I can even use retinol now which everyone says is risky with rosacea (it took a long time of the 0.5% every few days to now having gotten used to it I can use the 5% one)! I would like to get my hands on centella next, working with budget constraints đ I haven't used TO's spf but the azelaic and the niacinamide are 10/10
Hi, what order do you use the products in please?
Iâm 20 and have also rosacea. What really helped me is azelaic acid. I use a cream which is called skinoren and my skin looks much better.
Thank you!!!! I just tried azelaic acid for the first time and my skin did flare up and got a burning feeling :( Even though I mixed it with a neutral moisterizer) I started to despair (because isn't it supposed to sooth the skin?) But then you mentioned here that this can occur when you start the first time and the skin needs to adjust. So relieved!đ I hope it gets better with time
hi! did the azelaic acid worked?
Iâve used the niacinamide everyday for like two weeks or so, and my pores have reduced significantly! I still have the redness on my right cheekbone area, but itâs starting to go down as well.
I start by cleansing my skin with the squalane cleanser, then I use the glycolic acid 7% toning solution, and sometimes I add 100% plant derived squalane OR hyaluronic acid. I close with the azelic acid suspension just in the red bits and then I use the Natural moisturizing factors +HA cream. I only do this before bed right now as I am n maternity leave and my baby tends to suck my face during the days :P
Is this routine still working for you?
@@flojopdx Iâve since started a round of antibiotics and a cream for rosacea but Iâm still using the niacinamide every morning and itâs helping keep the pimples and worst blackheads at bay, yes :)
Omgggg thank you so much đ«đ«đ« I finally understand why my skin is acting up!!!

In which steps should these products be used? I was a little confused. Love the videoâ€
Are you kidding me?! I was just searching all your The Ordinary for rosacea yesterday and couldnât find one!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! My mom has been insecure about these and I think these will be a great thing for her
Oh my gosh thank you SO much. Youâre amazing for giving all this information!! Been struggling to find products without having to go to the dermatologist or research for an hour. This quick video does the job!
I have rosacea. It has flared up really bad in the past year. The past few months though, it has been crazy bad. Bumps and redness. Absolutely NOTHING was working. I got the Azelaic Acid last week. I put it on Thursday night, followed by my moisturizer. It did sting/tingle and was itchy (namely on the bumps), but I attributed it to the acid doing its thing. Next morning: Bumps were 98% GONE! Redness was down about 70%. Morning after that: ZERO BUMPS. Redness was down another 10%. Yesterday: still no bumps. Redness: down another 15% So right now, my skin does have a little bit of redness to it, but it just looks like a normal flush someone without rosacea may get if they had been exercising. I applied some last night (only my 2nd application since getting it): this morning, all is fine. Put on some moisturizer and went on about my day. Niacinamide burned my skin BAD and did nothing. I read where it helps with blackheads, but I'm not seeing any results, so I may just have to toss it. But the Azelaic Acid is staying indefinitely.
I have been struggling with rosacea/rednes since i can remember. I have been using niacinamide and the azelaic acid for a while and it really helps alot. It does not totally cancel it out but it tones it down. Plus my skin is smoother. I also use the glycolic toner, hyaluronic acid+b5 and caffeine esgc serum. I am a bit in love with the ordinary since it launched in the Netherlands
Have u broken out from the glycolic toner? Iâve heard that glycolic acid should be avoided when u have rosacea?
@@fifibee4553 i have not. I actually like that toner.
Please help! Iâm just about to Star using this, in which order do you apply the niacinamide and the azelaic acid? Which one goes first? Do you use it every day?
@@aletrevino6100 I've always heared to put thinner products first, so niacinamide bc it's a watery product then azelaic acid bc azelaic acid is a cream. And always spf during the day. Also I know you can use azelaic acid morning and night. Hope this helpsđ
omdz, i just realized your eye color is amazing, i love it!
Iâm 40 & had beautiful skin up until 2018 when I went through mycotoxin poisoning, ever since then Iâm not only still fighting chronic fatigue, but my skin has what I think is rosacea. Iâm going to order these products & youâve convinced me to see a Dermatologist.

I have sensitive skin and rosacea. I really was so desperate to find something that will help to reduce my redness and I watched this video. I can say one thing that after these âadvisesâ I ruined my facial skin. After one day using this products I had terrible skin redness and a lot of pimples that accured on my skin.
If this youtuber has zero understanding what is rosacea better give no advise.
And Ordinary on their own website wrote to use this products on the unbroken skin.
Better use specialized products for sensitive skin as Topicrem that are focused to calm sensitive skin.
Continuing, I needed to visit dermatologist after this perfect advises. Now I need to drink and use antibiotics on my skin.
Follow this advise if you want to make your skin more sensitive and worse than it is already.
hi! i have rosacea too and i just bought this products, i follow a lot of people who was rosacea too and use this product and works with their skin, i read that yo have to introduce the products slowly, the azelaic acid just 2 times a week and a very small amount, same with the niacinamide (sorry if my english is bad, i speak spanish)
But there is better products that are created specially for rosacea. I am happy that for some people it works, however this girls really shouldnât speak for everyone. As I see on the video she doesnât have rosacea. Just recommendation, better go see specialist, dermatologist, who was studying for years.
And how I mentioned before, even Ordinarily on their own website wrote that use it on the unbroken skin.
Rosacea is highly sensitive skin and you need to be careful with that.
Same! Made my skin so much worse! Now I'm in a mess and can't afford to buy more products đ

The Ordinary niacinamide is amazing! The Naturium brand has an Azaleic Topic Acid product with niacinamide and I vitamin c. It has a higher price than the ordinary products, but it is a bigger bottle and it has 3 actives. It did not sting/burn me :) Just sharing what has worked for me. (I still have my TO one. I was low on it and bought the Naturium one just to have more in sock and I'm blown away by it!)
Hi everyone, my rosacea is not that bad,but when I started to use Niacinamide 10%+zinc my skin burned especially around my mouth area. I put just a little but it burned me. I wonder if I m the only one to experiment this!!!!
Just a heads up! The links provided in the description that are linked to Amazon are not true ordinary products. There are many reviews saying they are fake so if you want these products I would order off of Ulta, Sephora, or the actual website. This is a great brand; unfortunately, there are fakes out there with who knows what as the ingredients.

Thanks for your informative post, here area few more tips for people who might have Rosacea.
1. Do you really think you have Rosacea or have you been looking on the internet too much? It may be common, affecting up to one in ten people, but red faces are not always rosacea. Dermatologists often see patients who are worried that they may have developed rosacea, perhaps following a bit of internet searching, but they may actually have another condition altogether. Facial redness simply occurs because there in increased blood flow to the top part of the skin, perhaps because of inflammation, sun damage or fixed widening of vessels.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid B5 and Niacinamide Zinc turned me strawberry bright red .
Their NMF and Amino Acids B5 and Vitamin C suspension HA did wonders for rosacea
The Inkey list Niacinamide is also great at calming skin down
on one of her other videos it said something about hyaluronic acid might be bad for sensitive skin
I have a rosacea since like 4yrs ago and actually got to see some dermatologist, it's not getting better (well the last time i visit dermatologist my skin is actually better and the redness and acnes come again and again for sometimes, and that costs so much money omg) and i'll just start with the ordinary products hope my skin's getting better đ
Really love ur vids. Scientific and easy to understand. My skin changed when I followed ur advice by using ordinary products and other tips. Rly thankful !
The ordinary Niacinamide contains isoceteth-20, ethoxydiglycol and chlorphenesin which tend to allergic reactions, especially chlorphenesin. Isoceteth-20 and ethoxydiglycol are also known to weaken the skins barrier fuctions . Just letting you know
yeah i don't like the niacinamide either, it made my rosacea worse unfortunately đȘ
Jennifer Betero i ve heard that it can worsen acne or rosacea in the beginning, but sometimes you ll have to wait even 4 weeks to get a real result , if you want to try it out , i ll recommend the niacinamide serum by revolution which doesnât contain these other mentioned ingredients. or if your rosacea is acne characterized then you could just stick to basic retinol and vitamin c

I am trying this product for the first time. I feel it tingling and mildly stinging around my nose/sides of my nostrils. I do tend to find this area sensitive in particular. In your opinion, do you think people should try to rinse off products that cause this type of sensation, or leave it if they can bear it? Also, you mentioned Azelaic acid can decrease sensitivity over time, do you think this may have the potential to stop stinging in the future? So, as Iâm watching this video, Iâm wondering what caused aaaaaall the tiny capillaries to be SO apparent in my face? I treat my face with care because I do have đ€ very light rosacea literally over each cheekbone. Is there an answer to address the root of the capillary issue, or is it the fact that Iâm 61? What are the steps? Is it 1. Niacinamide 2. Azelaic acid 3. Sunscreen 4. Moisturizer?
Omg I have rosacea and this video helped me a lot. Thank you so much!!!!†I wanted to ask what is the best chemical peel from the Ordinary for rosacea/sensitive skin? Thanks in advance đđ€
Tsvetelina Slavcheva I have rosacea and tolerate the mandelic acid 10% best. No redness.
Thank you so much for this video! It's really helpful! â€ïž
in what order would you put these products on your face?
lucia niacinamide - azelaic acid - sunscreen
iâve been using the niacinamide for a few months but it hasnât gotten better! i have light non pustular rosacea that gets more red when i exercise or eat spicy food! i just got the azelaic acid so i hope it will work :)
Did it work?
@@ecaofisial8822 i went to a dermatologist and i found out that the redness is caused by the kp on my chin, so no :)
Could we get one for eczema as well please ? đ„ș
Hey cassandra, i was wondering if you could make a Video about 7 skin method which is using moisturizing (not astringent) korean toner or rose water 7 times it's supposed to give a glow to your skin, i've seen many people raving about it on Deciem fan group on facebook and some results are pretty great
Australian Gold botanical sunscreen is good except it has eucalyptus extract which can trigger rosacea.
Please do a video on combination and sensitive skin
Thank you so so soooo much for this video! I have only been using these products for a little less than a week and I can begin to see an improvement in my skin already! I have since started binge watching your other videos whilst in lockdown (uk) and I am addicted to your channel! Thanks again, you have really helped this rosacea sufferer out!
Hi! How does it goes ?? Are you still using both the Niacinamide and the azelaic acid? Do you use it in the same rutine? Iâm just about to start! Help please
@@aletrevino6100 i can confirm Azaelic acid has changed my skin for the good. It was a little bit stingy the first couple of times i used it, but it has worked so well! I now order 5 at a time!! The Niacinamide is a bit hit and miss for ME, it might not be related but for me it didnt so much for the redness. However i found tranexamic acid by the inky list was amazing! Hope this helps⊠good luck đ„°
Also⊠FYI⊠the inkey list tranexamic acid smells kinda funky⊠like burnt, wood⊠very smokey!
@@staceykeen4207 Thank you so much for your answer!! Do you use it in daily basis? I just bought the Niacinamide too, do you think that I can use it both at the same time? (Sorry for the spelling! English is not my first language)
@@aletrevino6100 personally, i would introduce one until you see a difference, be it good or bad. To properly find out you need to stick at it for 28 days, but you wont regret it.
I used azaelic acid first and loved it, then introduced Niacinamide and my skin didnt seem to so much. SooooâŠ. It might just be me, you may be fine. Its just personal trial and error! đ„°
After seeing this video and doing some of my own research I have a suspicion that I might have rosacea. Should I try and bring up my concerns with a dermatologist
Hi I'm new to your page and I have absolutely loved everything that you have shared on here. I just became an esthetician, and started working at a waxing and skincare place. Getting into this profession I was trying to learn about my skin too, but at the same time I have been feeling so overwhelmed until I found your page last night and haven't stopped watching your stuff. I am trying to become more knowledgeable so I can help and talk to clients more. The hardest things for me though is reading through product knowledge, how the skin functions, and so many other details and then the next second trying to educate my clients correctly. I turned to CZcams to see if there is any great estheticians out there that have made any videos on anything. I watch a few Cosmetologist have like Brad Mondo about hair, but since that is not what I do doesn't quite help me (still an awesome person to watch though). I would love for your feedback on a few different skincare lines and make up lines for foundation; skincare - Dermologica VS Dermodality VS PCA skin, make-up - bareMinerals BAREPRO foundation + their original veil. It would be awesome if you could and if not I understand too. I love watching your channel now and greatful to have found it. P.s. I also like using the jojoba oil from Traders Joe's too (I freaked out with excitement when I watched your Skincare routine video and you popped it up). Anyway your so awesome! Sincerely Ashlyn!
