Things seem significantly less expensive in the UK than here in the U.S.--from food, to books, to renovation costs. (Sensodyne toothpaste at Costco near us is $32 for a 4-pack; Joel you got 6 tubes for 14 quid???) When I watch renovation videos from the UK, it's like wow, your kitchen and bathrooms are re-done top to bottom and looking gorgeous; where I live in the U.S. that money would maybe cover countertops or a few cabinets...just materials, labor not included.

The only way I could possibly enjoy shopping at Costco would be with you, Joel! Your Costco looks pretty much just like ours here in Evansville, Indiana. (although I wish we had Victoria Sponges!) My husband occasionally goes to stock up on things, but I went there once and hated it. It felt bleak, crowded, and chaotic. Glad you got some good deals!
My friends live in Evansville in the art district. I wish we had Victoria Sponge at Costco. Gas is a good deal.

Ariel is very good laundry detergent, it's very popular in the US , especially in the Hispanic community. I'm not Hispanic, but have used Ariel forever. My mom started using Ariel when I was in Elementary school and now I use it, it's less expensive than the national name brands lit Tide, Cheer, Snuggle etc and cleans just as well. Once about 6 or 7 years ago, I bought two large bags of Ariel @ the .99¢ store and I had enough to last for a whole year and some change even. The bags were $3.99 a piece. It's also available in regular grocery stores like Kroger ( or its SoCal stores, Ralph's and Food 4 Less)etc
Love the Costco's, can't believe the deals on just about everything. It's a bit of a challenge when there is only one of you, but it's still worth it. You definitely should see what they are like here in the states, definitely bigger I'll bet with lots more stuff,lol. Thanks for taking us along Joel, enjoy your new book.

Just came back from being in Birmingham and surrounds for a wedding and did the whole price comparison thing on groceries and I thought Australia was pricey but no the UK is a whole different level. Loved the experience in the UK and do appreciate being back in QLD in the warmth although our humidity is not good. I enjoy and appreciate your posts, thanks so much for sharing so much of your life.
I love going to Costco. We also have Sam’s here in the US. I like this one better because they have an app where you pay for your items as you load them in your cart 🛒. Then pay when you’re done and skip the line. It’s great!

I was excited to watch when I saw the title! Bloggers in the US do Costco all the time but I’ve never seen a UK one. Besides some unfamiliar brand names, it’s exactly the same!

Pretty good haul of stuff. It’s a revelation to discover that COSTCO is cheaper than Amazon on most all of the items you purchased. I live alone so buying at COSTCO is a bit of a waste unless it’s like the health and beauty stuff or something like the pesto that I love and keeps forever or smaller freezer items that I can repackage for useable sizes and freeze the rest. The rotisserie chicken is still a great deal.
I live in the US and have never been to COSTCO none near me. I have been to SAMS Club of course. It was cool to see how things are similar in different countries.

I always love Costco videos from other countries. I worked at the headquarters in Issaquah, Washington (just east of Seattle) at Costco Travel. It was a great company to work for. I live just up the freeway from Kirkland - where Kirkland Brand comes from - the original headquarters (so, now you know! 😉). Costco is HUGE here, obviously. Vit D3 is a regular in our cart, too. 🌧️ I liked seeing your baked goods selection. We don't have those cronuts!! I want!! 😂 I think that's everyone's motto when going through Costco: I don't need it, but I want it! 😂 Fun video, Joel. Thank you!

I'm like you Joel, always pick the nice book from further back in the pile. Easter stuff appears early here too, I kid you not that hot cross buns are available in the shops on boxing day. Despite the fact it's been happening for years there's the annual media story about it in the papers and on the news, it's honestly kind of funny how wound up some people get about it but apparently they sell enough of them to make it worthwhile. Love videos like these, shopping is something we all do and it's kind of interesting to see what other countries have that is similar and different to what we're used to and how different prices are in comparison.
Hey Joel, if you and Keegan are going to be using restraints regularly, you may want to buy the fur lined cuffs, less chance of blisters.😊

Hey Joel, I just got my UK Costco card and shopped at that very Costco in Leeds after decades of shopping at Costco in the US. Didn't notice much difference in the stores at all. I felt very at home.

A new Costco opened up in Clermont, Fl a few months ago. That would probably not be too far for you. Easier than going to the ones up in Orlando or going over to Tampa.

The only thing my Costco doesn’t carry is the Victoria Sponge! Otherwise your Costco looked just like mine except reversed! Love their WINE section. But of course, it’s all California wine out here. Some of your brands are the same and some different. Fun to go on a shopping spree with you. We always say that if you can make it out of Costco for under $300, you’ve done well 😂.
The back to back vids from Joel where he says in the first one “Guys, if you see me in public I much prefer you just come right up and say something” and the second one he says “I’m having one of those days where everyone is getting on my nerves” has me convinced that I’d see him on a day where everyone is getting on his nerves, approach him, and just annoy him.
