The funny thing to me is I had sonic and knuckles but not sonic 3 so I just assumed the whole lock on thing was for blue sphere and to play as knuckles in Sonic 2 so i thought it was just for that.
Lol trust me you're not alone. Part of the fun growing up was hearing people's reactions when they realized the full extent of it all
@@NintenDeen I will say playing Sonic 2 as Knuckles is still my favorite Sonic gaming experience because Chemical plant is super fun when you can climb stuff.

That's awesome to hear! I'm still trying to figure out timing, hopefully if I can start uploading quicker and getting a little better at editing then more people can enjoy my stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed it though
Super/Hyper Sonic was the reward for replaying the game having found enough giant rings and gotten good enough to clear the special stages. You couldn't just redo a ring as, it saved instantly when you touched it, so you had one shot at it. (or you can look up maps, I still occasionally have to do that in mushroom hill if I don't play for a while, I forget a few spots, or just wait till Air Battery to get all 7 cause it has a few easy to get to ones anyways)
I usually just call it S3K, or Sonic and Knuckles to include the sonic 3 part, unless specifically wanting to talk about the games separately.
Since it seems you are moving to DKC does this mean that this is the last mario vs sonic video
Not at all, I plan on to move on to some 3D stuff eventually. I might have one more Mario and Sonic vid before I shift to DKC but we'll see
SME hands down, though both were great.
I would say that visually speaking, the Mario 3 All Stars looks better than SMW. They're both fine though, they're just going for different things.
This is actually the 1 sonic game of the classics I genuinely hate. There r many things that lead into Y but the biggest thing is it's greatest strength for so many... IT'S. TOO. FUCKIN. MUCH! THESE LEVELS R SO LONG & DRAWN OUT, IT'S LEGIT THE ONLY GAME I TIME OUT ON GOIN FOR THE GOAL & CD IS THE EXPLORATION GAME WIT THE SAME 10MIN LIMIT FOR A LIFE LIKE WTF!? I hate the controls so much idk HOW they fucked it in this 1 but the controls on sonic R ASININE wit how clunky & heavy they R in comparison to the older classics & this "weight" STICKS to the later ones like mania & Superstars & while I like those games more(especially superstars) I HATE that THAT'S the 1 thing they jus WON'T let go of for some reason. I don't think the level design is that great & is mostly jus u bein stumped by stupid gimmicks like the FUCKIN VINE, OH THAT VINE(I don't even mind the weird barrel thing in the carnival zone)!! They also hit u wit too many moments where ur control is taken away for no reason jus to sit u down for some glorified cutscene thing that takes too long to start & eventually EGREGIOUSLY LONG to end like "LET ME PLAY ALR IT'S NOT EVEN COOL ENOUGH TO MARVEL AT THE 1ST GODDAMN TIME"(THE 1ST)!! MOST of the character sprites R SO UGLY, ESPECIALLY SONIC! All the prior games & even many later games Classic looks incredibly appealin wit a general fierceness & focus in his eyes. U could C he was serious bout gettin the task done & was in a hurry to get movin especially when he told u to get goin. He jus looked sleek & COOL! In 3 he's so FAT & ugly like he gained weight & got stung by bees. That fierceness in his eyes is gone & it's jus a blank stare, & his "get goin" animation doesn't look attractive or commandin. IT'S BARELY LEGIBLE! IT ACTUALLY TOOK DECADES FOR PPL TO KNOW WUT HE WAS EVEN DOIN FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAIN TILL SUPERSTARS R U FOR REAL!? HE JUS DOESN'T LOOK "COOL" WHICH IS, A.. BARE.. MINIMUM!! & I'M SO SRY TO SONIC & MJ but S3&K was far from my fav track of the classics. I'm not sayin it "wasn't it"...... BUT IT WAS CLOSE I'M NGL! The blue spheres aren't "horrible" as special stages but I jus can't gas em up like others do, they're ok & I C the appeal. Hyper doesn't feel like enough of a reward to do em TWICE in 1 playthrough(& while it's not likely the possible epilepsy is prob not worth it lol).(Speakin of) For most Classic games I usually only play as sonic & maybe have tails tag along usually in 2 cus it jus feels "right" to me. HOWEVER.... I for once in my life disliked a classic game SO MUCH I did a full playthrough for ALL individual installments(S3/S&K/S3&K) for S3&K as (mostly) Tails ALONE jus so I could have an easier time cheesin his flight as the "easy mode" jus to say "I beat the game", & IT WAS STILL SO INCREDIBLY BORIN/ANNOYIN AT SOME POINTS! U know that boss where u have to chase eggman in the Air & tails carries sonic to bounce on him at the right time. Cus I was Tails & couldn't turn into a ball while flyin I HAD TO STRUGGLE TO FIND AN OPENIN THAT WOULDN'T KILL ME & TIME IT ALL JUS RIGHT, JUS BARELY DOIN IT EVENTUALLY! Also there's a boss in 1 of the 2 individual installments that I enjoy for the mechanics & the BANGER MUSIC but the "full experience" removed it for NO REASON & while that would add to time I don't want to add to a game I don't like I still would've spent that time enjoyin the game to SOME DEGREE(I can still find it elsewhere ig). I could go on but if u read this far I feel I've made my point I jus can't enjoy much bout this game & it baffles me to no end how these design decisions aren't criticized more WHEN THEY'RE THINGS PPL HATE BOUT LATER MAINLINE GAMES!! I don't wanna be "that guy" but as empathetic & understandin as I try to be in my life in general wit imo pretty solid success in reachin those points ESPECIALLY WIT THIS SERIES OF ALL THINGS I genuinely have to say here It's really jus ppl bein blinded by nostalgia for the bulk of it cus it's ASTOUNDIN!
