    I bought a Wildcat kit from you. I have to say it's been pretty good, save for normal poor quality issues that plague all china doll engines. My choke went loose and took me a few days to figure, ran like crap till I figured out the vibration was closing the choke. I've gotten a lot of miles of reliable transpo out of it though, and I use about 1 gallon of gas a month. Yes, that's right, about 60-75 miles of riding a month on a single gallon! Would be great if you could figure out a regular warranty for your engines, but over at the motorized bike forum, most folks say you're good for resolving issues members have. I will definitely look to you first on future purchases. I do get spare parts on Amazon cuz I can save on shipping, but for engines and kits, CMB is a good source.

    That was educational. I don't understand the reference to pressure when comparing magneto cover gaskets. I thought the gasket was to keep stuff out. Wouldn't that cavity necessarily be isolated from crankcase pressure? The first shot of the upside down cylinders shows quite a casting flaw in the Wildcat (left side of cylinder). Your concluding observation about not much of a price difference would be strengthened by giving the price of the Wildcat.

      The magneto is very water sensitive. If even a single drop of water makes it in there you have the replace the magneto as the engine won’t start

Again, wish I'd come across your video prior to my purchases, the hardware alone is awesome on them thar Wildcats. Thanks for making this video. M.

    • @zsfabricating
      @zsfabricating  Před 4 lety

      That doesn't address the many quality issues also associated with the bottom end of the low quality engines. However, you may be able to, however sometimes you may have to use an extra gasket when interchanging cylinders across factories or in some cases the piston will hit the head.

    I agree with most points made..... but right off the bat "pot metal srew's" ???? LOL! - I have built a few bikes (27), some for sale but most for members of my family and friends. The first bike I built was with a cheaper eBay purchased motor.... much like the one shown here. I have tried motors from several companies, I do have three bikes that I have built with the runwell PK 80 motors but have changed out the heads on all three to performance heads - all in all I think runwell makes a pretty nice motor and for now it is my "go to" motor - it is in my opinion one of, if not the best on the market right now. There are other motors..... But for me?... I'll take a runwell PK 80.

      Clean up the poor QC & you’ll have a ~30 mph kit

    • @archer7212
      @archer7212 Před 4 lety

      @@st.paulmn9159 - yeah, it's the balance of the Runwell that makes it the best for the price. Ports are pretty crappy on almost every motor before a port job. I have one that I ported and I got 43.8mph on 26in wheels and 40T sprocket. (it might have gone faster but the bike was making me nervous 😬) - I have 2 more that I'm playing around with and swapping cylinders on, one to a G4 open transfer port cylinder and the other with an iron sleeve that was a G4 before it was sleeved. I cut the splitter out of the ports on the sleeved one, couldn't see the point after the sleeve job I think they just kinda became an obstruction. - anyway.... I'm just rambling because I'm excited to get them together and see the difference.

    This is actually not true, you dont want you clutch to bite, you want it to slip a little, so your engine will not fall out of the power band, actually you can start with Chinese clutches without pedaling, sthe spring is very tuf it will not slip.

    Bought one of those eBay motors for my first bike. Huge mistake. Nothing but trouble. It’s currently off the bike the bike is completely shut down for now and I’m building a completely new bike with an actual engine, not just a bunch of scrap parts thrown together and called an engine. The eBay engine literally has spent most of its very short life being worked on vs actual running. Not even exaggerating. Never ever even consider buying one those cheap eBay or amazon kits you are throwing your money away, they are horrible and will leave you with an undeserved bad opinion of motorized bikes. You get what you pay for and these higher quality kits are not much more at all.

      Brainless Gaming Yeah I went ahead and ordered an engine kit from bicycle -engines, the Zeda 100. Ordered on the 29th of August, still waiting on it??? They shipped me the wrong engine the first time and I finally got it sorted out but I still haven’t received my engine kit. Not trying to knock them or anything but at this point I’m definitely going to do business with someone else next time. Probably either these guys at California motor bikes or more likely bicycle motor Works. I have emailed the guy who runs BMW and he always emails me right back, even to just answer dumb questions so he seems really legit and definitely knows his stuff. Good luck to you.
