A few weeks ago I shared a barn quilt I made that I hung in my front entry and I got tons of messages and emails asking how I made it!
I wanted to share with you how you can make a beautiful barn quilt with special stencil or cutting machine needed. You just need surface to paint, painters tape and of course paint, that's it!
So grab yourself a cozy blanket, and a hot tea, sit back, relax and let me show you how to make a barn quilt!

I made one several years ago for my barn. I love it and have always wanted to make another one. I love the idea of fall colors. Such a nice idea and won't you enjoy seeing it on display. Thank you for doing this great video
I’ve made a few 4’x4’ barn quilts, one Christmas themed in red, green and white for a back drop on my porch. I use a water based sealer once I’m finished. Oil based sealers will turn a yellowish color and ruin any light colors over time. I also find the center of the board by measuring corner to corner and putting an x in the center. This will help find the true center. I love your color choices! Barn quilt patterns can be found in Pinterest and drawn out in graph paper for measurements. Love this!!!

I love these quilts.I made one..yes time consuming,but worth it in the end.I love cinnamon paint too and glad u went with the white..it looks beautiful..they r addicting once u do one for sure!!

I'll be making one with my quilt group in September. So excited. Oh, using a hair dryer to speed it up is a great idea! How do you decide what star or pattern to use/are there ones better for this type of craft?
Love this idea. Would you be able to give details on how you did your original one using the stencil that was cut by machine? I have a Cricut and would be thrilled to know how to make a stencil of this scale on it.

I absolutely love this and I will be trying it. One thing that might help is brushing a thin layer of Modge Podge on the edge of the tape and let dry before painting. It does help with cleaner edges. I do it with stencils as well. Less bleed through.

Do you paint MP on the tape edge only that you will be painting next to? Great tip. I’ve been wanting one of these.
@@abiering Yes I do...I seen anther crafter do it. It's not always perfect but much better then without. I do it when I make my own stencils with my Cricut.
