Guide to Understanding Steel | Materials Talk Series

  • In this video, we walk you through a high-level understanding of steel, and the four major types designated by the American Iron and Steel Institute. To simplify your understanding we are going to use the acronym CAST. Links below to skip to specific steels:
    Carbon Steel: 0:31
    Alloy Steel: 2:22
    Stainless Steel: 3:28
    Tool Steel: 4:25

    on the tool steeel and the related knives showed are all made of stainless or low alloy carbon...said that, nice job

    Can you give a link for tool steel swords, since swords I've seen are carbon, alloy or stainless?
