    I have this watch and have to say it’s my absolute favorite in the collection. The weight of it is substantial, without being gold flashy. The meteorite comes from Nibia. It’s approximately 4 Billion years old. The country has made exporting anymore illegal so what rolex has is it. With their deep pockets can they get more, probably. Wearing this watch out in public in this day and age makes me think twice, a sad comment to say.

    • @m3tek44

      Randy... compare to standard stainless (120 grams or so) how much does this thing weigh? 200? Thanks!

    • @Arthur_StJohn
      @Arthur_StJohn Před 2 lety

      @@m3tek44 It's got a good weight to it. the heft of a gold sports Rolex is something you come to appreciate when you actually put it on wrist.
      Its a tad bit lighter than an 11 series pm supercase sub. Needless to say, this is the grail modern day GMT. like Randy said, having something on your wrist that is approximately 4 billion years old is special even if you are not a watch collector.

    This is my dream watch. I've tried the meteorite Day Date 40 in both white gold and platinum and love the meteorite dial, but this GMT Master II with Meteorite would leave the Day Date Meteorite in the dust. I looked at the (older?) Daytona with meteorite and that didn't agree to my tastes.

    There has to be a limited supply of meteorite IF it is not being manufactured, and I have my suspicions given others are producing meteorite dials I.e. Omega. For that reason I would expect Rolex NOT to switch out the dials for meteorite 🤔

    Surely Rolex needs to keep the Meteorite dials so they can at least service existing Meteorite dialed watches over time. I would be concerned about investing in a Meteorite dial because eventually somebody is going to come up with a reason why some dials are nicer than others and you’re going to be stuck with one that isn’t appealing for that reason. Personally I think the blue dial is a much nicer looking dial on that watch.
