I think you missed a very vital element to the Scepter of Domination; it affects the behavior of ALL orcs around the orc you hit. So, instead of going for a small orc that will die in one hit and having it act as essentially a small grenade, you can hit a troll or ogre and get ten seconds of crowd control. With proper use of the Scepter of Domination, you can basically control an entire lane by yourself with no traps, which is vital to some of the hardest maps in the game where they expect you to handle two lanes that don't cross paths with each other.
Completely agree. If you can select the appropriate enemies, you will hold the wave in it's place for a long while before they can break through. The rate of fire is also insane so if you're hitting headshots, even the biggest enemies melt away.
Also : when you hold left mouse button while zoomed, the rate of fire lowers and all shots are made at full accuracy. So, you can snipe without having to think about your rate of fire.
The wind belt is suffering from how the targeting works in this game. For some reason if your character model blocks the camera then it seems to count as an obstructed shot. Even though your character is actually behind the weapon. I've had it happen with stone staff ability too. You notice it more with the wind belt because you try to get the right push angle, and often your back ends up against a wall and the camera derps out. Sadly the off center camera option doesn't help at all. Another thing I noticed is with the stone staff pierce. It's just supposed to go straight through. But sometimes you aim down, like at a stoned hunter, and the piercing shot looks like it ricochets up.
I think the term you mean for the crossbow is bloom? I.e.: expansion of the reticle representing inaccuracy So the crossbow accuracy returns it to minimum quicker (and shrinks the minimum?)
When you have tar set up to enhance fire damage it can be VERY effective with the double length firewall. I would not use it as a primary weapon but it's great for a secondary weapon in that set up.
@@JosephDiveley Except 70% of the levels have enemies consist of guys who are immune to fire and it's mana cost is pretty insane. Your mana and slot is better used on anything else.
@@DuckJamesAshley So bring the right weapon for the right stage. Variety is what keeps the game fun. Just like I have used fire laser traps on tar with enhanced damage to just wreck levels. Then I just follow them up with arcane brimstone traps. I mean that is two traps that are always on and always working. Then a nice pod of confusion plants to make them walk right back through it and it can do a great job of thinning things out.
@@JosephDiveley Righttttttt, But this is a tier list. If you wanna bring the flame bracers just cause you want too. Go ahead but the point is there's no situation that they are optimal or even suitable. In previous games, the mana cost wasn't so insane that you could use them as a weapon. You're using 3 or 4 slots to just use them like that. One for the flame bracers. One for a normal weapon. As again with mana you can't rely on it primarily. One for a Tar and ideally one for the mana trinket. Lasers are great. Just use those instead.
@@DuckJamesAshley I have used them to get perfect 5 skull scores on stages. That firewall can clear out entire waves of attacks when you lay it on tar. Also when you lay it down the right way in a kill zone where the fire wall goes down the entire lane it adds a tremendous amount of damage. You can also just face sideways and then stand at the end of the firewall and the enemies will walk down the length of it and take lots of damage. I don't claim it's the best weapon but it's definitely a LOT better than is being given credit for in this video. It just takes a bit of finesse and skill to use instead of just button mashing. The thing I have always liked about Orcs Must Die is that there are lots of different ways to combine things to do a level. The only overpowered and super OP weapon in the game is the Stone Staff. All other weapons are situational to me. The frost ring is amazing too and even better than the stone staff in a kill zone because that freeze effect enhances damage while being turned into stone doesn't.
For most of playing the story i was pairing ice amulet with longbow and i liked that combo but i agree by itself ice amulet just Doesnt work but the freeze is nice if you quick switch to something that can start dealing damage without draining you dry
Only with Scepter of Domination you can do first wave on Secret Fortress(Rift lord difficulty). Other weapon can't do that. Charm is very strony. Elven Shortswords is way better than Warhammer and Broadsword because of huge attack speed. Hitting enemy cancel them attack animation, fast attacks almost stooped enemies permanentny. In narrow corridor Elven Shortswords will never let runners pass by. this is Bladestaff weakness
Ok, I wasn't aware they cancelled attack animations of enemies, I don't recall that I noticed that. I also didn't consider a weapons effectiveness on small guys but that was also a good point. I'll be giving everything a much harder look after steam and I'll try to expand my repertoire of items used.
your underrating the scepter of domination a maxed scepter has triple the rate of fire of the magic longbow while maintaining 0.75x damage and perfect aim. also, since it counts as arcane damage, it can 2-headshot heavy orcs.
It is the best Ranges weapon for me. Charm is so incredibly powerful to keep the enemy at a Position. I played yesterday with it a lot, Charm aim is a bit weird and has a travel time but is still quite reliable. I also cant confirm that you dont want to use it inside a killbox, I did all the time and had no destroyed barricades. Just dont charm firelords or sappers inside it and it's safe.
well I am glad you found more use for it than I did. I think the rate of fire is good if you are willing to click that much. And if so I'd rate it higher, but that's not me, I like holding down the trigger button
i think its easily the best in the game, if you charm armored ogres you can literally win rounds before they even get to your traps and the sheer damage output of 100% accurate headshots and the explosions, its crazy.
I'm sorry but I must have missed it, but what's wrong with the Crossbow's secondary skill? Also the Flame Bracers, Ice Amulet, and Wind Belt (and once upon a time the Stone Staff) aren't meant to be primary weapons, they are secondary weapons you pair with a primary weapon. That is why they used to be trinkets, even in OMD2 (and 1 I think). They were meant to be used for combos or "oh shit" situations. I generally keep a main weapon, the ice amulet, and a trinket. Also, the Blunderbuss I feel is even better than you may realize because every pellet can deal heatshot damage and I've one-shot heavy orcs with it before. The secondary grenade is also really good for clearing a room quickly if need be, personally. Like I said, I carry the ice amulet usually so I use the bigger radius and damage for grenade (personally). Not criticisms, just don't agree. Overall I love your videos and my wife and I have been watching/listening to them while we play together. (I'm watching the weapons one without her shhh)
Nothing, there are just better cc options. 1 stunned enemies Bob their heads up and down making head shots harder than using stone staff. 2 The aoe of the stun is increadably small.

You told us how much damage/DPS the melee weapons do except the blade staff. Also, in my opinion, you should never use the ice amulet secondary. Only switch over to it from a different weapon (with a better secondary) to use the primary to freeze enemies/bosses.
Wait, what about the lightning ring? Isn't that in this? I normally in the other games like to have the main weapon (I like the Stone Staff myself) and then one damag-y magic like the bracers or amulet or ring.
