- We caught up with Port Royal Speedway promoter Steve O'Neal for this week's edition of the SprintCarUnlimited.com Deep Dive presented by EnTrust IT Solutions. O'Neal discussed going from a fan, to helping at a racetrack, and then becoming a promoter. He talked about his first stint at Port Royal and then returning years later. O'Neal hit on a variety of other topics including building Port Royal into one of the best facilities on the East Coast, purses, scheduling, the need to work together in Central PA, High Limit and the World of Outlaws, and more.

Well done and interesting interview. Keep up the good work.
This is one I highly anticipated! Thanks for getting Steve's perspective and outlook! Very insightful - Really liking this series!
Port Royal has become the best speedway in Pennsylvania and one of the premiere half mile tracks in America. I wish Williams Grove would listen to this guy and take some notes.
Not to talk about another track, BUT YES TO MOVING THE PITS ENTIRELY OUTSIDE OF THE GROVE! Better for the fans, better for the show and probably better for the drivers!
Would have liked to get his take on when he was promoting Bloomsburg
Another great show. Thanks for the info.
I reallyed enjoyed this show portroyal is the best track around in my opinion
I'm remember sitting in the stands with Steve years ago wanting a chance to run portroyal now he's one of the best
I remember as a kid we would still drive to the track and sit in the parking lot and hope the rain would quit it was an asphalt track so they could dry the track
I remember starting at 8pm and we were headed home by 11:30 and that track ran both Friday and Saturday 3 divisions of cars both nites
Wish you would have done a follow-up question on what Rule changes he would have liked to see implemented
Slim chance that the tracks work together for a 5 track series and that's for 2 reasons. 1)Ego. Every promoter has their own way of doing things and think their way is best. 2) Tracks like Port Royal and Lincoln would have to surrender a few Saturday night dates to give BAPS & Selinsgrove a better chance to be successful, because Sunday nights are a big challenge for teams and fans.
