DC musician's final song, written with son, goes viral as she fights cancer

- A local musician is releasing her final song as she enters hospice while fighting cancer. Cat Janice wrote the song with her 7-year-old son and has now signed the rights over to him in hopes of leaving something behind. FOX 5's Jacqueline Matter has the story.

As a mother of 2 sons, I am crying watching this. I love my sons more than life itself. I pray she goes into remission and can raise her son to adulthood. I know many who have lost their parent at a young age and I feel their pain. I’m the type who wants to mother everyone. I’m the mom who had all the kids over for make your own pizza nights & sleepovers. Sadly my sons are older and don’t have children. The last place we lived had lots so I “adopted” them. I’d go to Target & buy those toys from Bullseye’s playground and leave it on their doors so they’d get a surprise when they come home from school. They’d get so happy. I miss them. Where I had to move to, we don’t see any kids. It’s isolated. Lots of dogs running loose, a few cats and some wild pigs.

I am utterly in love with this song but cancer is so close to home for me but hearing just recently tonight she passed away I am heartbroken for her, her family, friends and of course her gorgeous little boy!!!
