This was probably the most ethereal, and mystical thing I had ever seen in my life. These customs they are doing, the procession, the chanting, etc-- these are things that have been done for hundreds and hundreds of years. What you see here, is what somebody in the middle ages would see during a popes funeral.
"We cannot live peacefully as one humanity if we talk about religion, instead, let us live as one human race giving peace, hope and compassion for all, open all the boarders. We belong to God, and to Him we are returning."
When I was 16(1979) the Pope came to Washington DC, and my parents took my brother and I to see him. It was a great day for me, I have always greatly admired him. He was truly a man of God, his faith never wavered! As a Catholic he is who I try to emulate! St John Paul the great, pray for us!!
12 men carrying the body of the Pope. Even knowing he was gone, seeing them first coming around the corner was eerie, in fact a shock. It seems very strange to see JPII not moving, after his very active life.
I'm 53 yrs old.I can say this great human is the most important human being I have ever known. Not withstanding my family, but that goes without saying.Pray for us St John Paul.
I never felt Pope Benedict's XVI influence til he stepped down. My childhood experiences of St Pope JP II has been permanently imprinted into my brain He was phenomenal. His visit to Uganda, and Gulu in particular, in the middle of the conflict was so reassuring to is the growing folks then. Pray for us St. JP II, that we may live in a world full of love and forgiveness among the human species so that we may live in peace with each other. In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
I had the honor and privilege of seeing John Paul ii when he came to Philadelphia in 1979. Our whole grade school, St. Phillip Neri, went to see him in Center City, Philly. We were so lucky to be only a few hundred feet from the stage where the Pope was conducting Mass.

This man was one of the most humble and genuine human beings to ever inhabit this Earth. St. John Paul II, pray for us.
He was truly a man of God. I am not Catholic but I know in my heart he was truly holy, rest in peace John Paul II.
It makes me cry. As a Polish person it hits so hard. Whole nation was broken after his passing. It was as suddenly we all became orphans.
these latin songs give me goosebumps..i cant explain why..they touch my heart in a way i cant explain..
I'm a muslim but i can feel the sadness in their eyes .
I was only ten years old when he died. And after watching this just now it broke my heart. 😢 He was a great church leader. And a great person himself.
The Catholic church will always be part of my life.
