🌍 This video presents the history and restoration of the so-called flying dragon sleigh. An exceptional piece from the collections of the Palace of Versailles, it was the subject of an in-depth study and an intervention on wood and painting. To complete the whole, the backrest and the harness were covered in silk velvet by an upholsterer.
This restoration benefits from the support of the Fondation d'entreprise Michelin.

      Dude
..it’s literally just people who had so much money to spend they spent it how they wanted. The times are still the same but not so much in wood but real estate and cars now 😂😭😭

C'est beau certes, mais c'est juste un témoignage de la richesse de la noblesse d'autrefois, ce tout petit pourcentage de la population qui était bien loin de s'occuper du peuple...

What a magnificent piece! But why no close-up, detailed view of it at the end? We go all the way with you & then you end with blurry distance shots. Disappointing!

This piece is very similar to one I had in my collection. If anything the one I had was somewhat older and has the same marvelous carving..mine however had a enormous freeform lion rampant forming each side,a woman's head/bust forming the end of each sleigh runner ...a woman's carved head on top of the back and a demon head on the bottom of the back...amazingly mine also had its original upholstery which was leather covering the seat and back .. unfortunately the one I had in my collection had some troubling paranormal activity connected to it and I ended up selling it to Anton Lavey founder of the church of Satan in San Francisco...which he told me he would use in the'church'. I can only wonder about it's history.
