I kno!! Sooo gawddamn humble!!! He made me want to learn scales, sweeps, theory and all that!
He's like the sickest heavy guitarist of ALL TIME!!

  • @xx7secondsxx

    So humble!!!
Seeing them open for DANZIG was what got me "who the F is that?" I'd never heard anything that heavy and technical! It blew my mind! Then they were doing the metalcore swings with the guitar that NO ONE WAS DOING BACK THEN!!! Then Dimitri blew huge fireballs on the 43% burnt hits at the end!
Def went down on my mental note. The with Kazaa... I was able to hear more of them and actually HEAR them cause live you couldn't really hear the skills!
"I never wanted to be...." I'm like DUDE!!! I became obs6woth learning Dillinger songs but they were wayyyyyyy too hard to figure out by ear. Found 1 guy online that made a tab of "Proceed with caution" and I learned that! I emailed the dide and asked him for more tabs if he had them!
43% burnt and the Running board he sent. Then i was able to figure a TINY bit out by ear!! But yea! That was like about 20 years ago!! And i STILL can't sweep pick! It's too gnarkill! I went more back more into my PUNK style and then went GRUNGE with it (Nirvaner was a punk band) but yea! What a guy! So humble and it's so great to see a dude with no EGO TRIPPING!!🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘🍻🍻
Still am bummed and shocked they hung it up.
Was like my old band when I moved outta state! They had their farewell show!
Without 2 if the HUGE parts if the band!
Just 2 douches that were LAME!!!
I was the peace keeper so once I got dropped I knew they'd turn on the guitarist! Within a month or so he was gone. Then he and I had a project! I moved outta state so I had to leave it.
Seeing Dillinger on their Calculating Infinity tour was a 😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 they won me over and as soon as I heard Under the running board ep and Calculating Infinity.... they were my fave band for years! Then the stuff they did with Patton was WILD!!!
    Great band!

It's cool hearing Ben talk about Mike Patton. I mean, the music screams that Patton is an influence, and Patton has even recorded with DEP, but it's cool hearing it all from the horses mouth.

Dissociation may be their last album but to me its their best release, incredible stuff! They've paved the way for so many bands and its kinda sad to see them go.

KraZi Kreature This will be the album I suggest to new comers of DEP. So perfect!

Kevin Jones oh definitely. I wouldn't recommend their earlier stuff to newcomers, too crazy. Either one of us is the killer or dissociation, its their most accessible.

KraZi Kreature I feel Option Paralysis and One of Us are their more accessible albums. Dissociation was weird even for me to digest and I love DEP.

I find option paralysis the most accesible, since it has a lot of hooks in the songs

Option was their least enjoyable record imo. Sounded too generic. Too overly played. I had no emotional connection to what it was saying or doing. I think Dissociation is a great Swan song. It does what they've done over the years all at once without making it feel forced.

I feel like the hardcore & metal scene is really different before and after DEP came into the picture. And in the early 2000s people thought that their sort of music is just too damn insane, but now a ton of people have developed a taste for it.

All my favourite modern metal bands, like deftones, btbam or tdep were inspired by faith no more. That just makes sense man I too had my mike patton obbsesion phase, the man is revolutionary

OK so I buy Dissociation and I'm like "They're disbanding, that fucking sucks but not out of this world surprising considering how long they've been at it". Then I'm like, "Wait, fuck, I've never seen them live, this sucks even more than them disbanding" :(

    • @anniesamuel4787
      @anniesamuel4787 Před 6 lety +2

That's how I felt. I knew I would regret it too much if I never saw them live so went to the last Sydney show.

I have tickets to the show on the 27th but I can't go because of money issues. I live in Florida and dumbass me forgot how much more flight tickets are during Christmas time.

It'd be rad if you started a band with Nate Newton, and the aim of the band would be throwing your Instruments!!!
