When I lived in Indiana, I was getting ready to meet my sister for lunch. My then boyfriend ran in the door of our trailer we lived in at the time & said “a trailer in the park is on fire”!(we lived in a trailer park at that time). I stopped what I was doing & flew out the door behind him. I followed him 2 streets over(running the whole way). We got to the trailer that was on fire. It was almost completely engulfed in flames!
I saw 3 kids inside the trailer & ran to an open window yelling for the kids to come to the window. They did as I said, & I pulled them 1 by 1 out the window(while the trailer was still burning)!
A few days later a news crew came to interview me for being a hero……..
I told them they could take my statement, but not my picture or video.
They agreed & asked why I risked my own safety for young kids.
My answer was “ I believe YOU have to be the change you want to see in the world! We ALL TALK about how we want a better, safer & kinder world, yet we do NOTHING about it! It’s up to ALL of us to be the change we want to see in the world!”
I also want to add 1 other thing(my aunt taught it to me)……………
United we stand, Divided we fall!
The simple yet great deed that the Japanese train official did is no than I would expect from a truly great nation but in all the Glasgow Glasgow and the Edinburgh train stations are so helpful that maybe just maybe there is hope for everyone so thank you all. 🙏🙏
