I met Wiley in Nando’s in Romford 15 years ago and he was so nice, really approachable. I think he needs someone to interview him who has patience and can evoke actual conversation instead of cutting him off and wanting to get their point of view in more than allowing him to.

He wants equal freedom of movement for all artists in terms of collaborations eg: His village analogy and Ed Sheeran manager example. He isn't disturbed by the fact that artists may want to step outside of their lane and try something mainstream/pop. However, he is advising/warning those artists that once you have blown off of that mainstream song, trying to maintain popularity when stepping back to your own lane will be near impossible and that your career will slowly die. Hence why he said "you can't come up twice". He used Stormzy and AJ as an example of this, whether their careers actually die is yet to be seen. It may not happen, but his theory definitely makes sense.
But that's not why hes going at Stormzy, and that's not why hes doing this that's just the agenda he wants to sell to people . If it was hed have never collaborated with big artists and supported the likes of drake for so long. Also stormzy isnt trying to "come up" twice he dont need to hes built a solid brand already. He knows this. The problem he has is stormzy using his sound to hit the commercial scene and "selling out" but wiley has been doing this himself . He wants equal freedom of movement for all artists in terms of collaborations eg: His village analogy and Ed Sheeran manager example. He isn't disturbed by the fact that artists may want to step outside of their lane and try something mainstream/pop. However, he is advising/warning those artists that once you have blown off of that mainstream song, trying to maintain popularity when stepping back to your own lane will be near impossible and that your career will slowly die. Hence why he said "you can't come up twice". He used Stormzy and AJ as an example of this, whether their careers actually die is yet to be seen. It may not happen, but his theory definitely makes sense.
But that's not why hes going at Stormzy, and that's not why hes doing this that's just the agenda he wants to sell to people . If it was hed have never collaborated with big artists and supported the likes of drake for so long. Also stormzy isnt trying to "come up" twice he dont need to hes built a solid brand already. He knows this. The problem he has is stormzy using his sound to hit the commercial scene and "selling out" but wiley has been doing this himself . Difference is hes never had an Urban Buzz like Stormzy and alot of these Guys and was never able to get the commercial acceptance he wanted without moving completely away from grime.
So he clings onto "godfather status" and tries to flex urban King status in UK to make up for that.
You lot just lap it up and decide that "he's just exposing the industry and being real" because if this was his outlook then hed have never done any commercial moves especially with Dizzie Being an "Example" of what going commercial can do. You lot dont realize Dizzie is Gatekeeper but because hes not shouting it and constantly doing grime and using people for hype. You dont see it

Wiley makes a lot of sense, once you make commercial moves (when you don’t need to) you start to go down, Stormzy is on his way down, the Kano comparison made sense because he’s never really been really commercial so he’s always kept his core and integrity.
That's not true at all. Wileys talking out of his ass as he normally does. Hes pushing his narrative because he doesnt like the fact that stormzy is commercialising his sound. That brings it away from what wiley wants and what hes able to do. But what hes able to do is "clash people and "bring through guys". essentially he wants push his own narrative on the UK scene, what stormzy is doing stops him from doing that but that's a wiley thing and not stormzy.
