The guy had a disabling injury. In his knee. He didnt use his head to score goals either someone extra had to be in the box because R9 wouldn't go all out for the ball when they cross. To think a player that doesn't go up for much headers and was injured a lot of time. The guys injury could have left him handicapped. Yet he still managed to comeback after 3 years and win the world cup. Who does that. How is Messi Cr7 or Romario that Good? R9 is the GOAT

That's what I've been saying about R9. He was a different kind of player, not just a center forward. In this game he was the best player as an attacking midfielder. Along his career, he's been the best as a winger, second forward, or main forward in a match. People who compare him with other players need to take that into account. It's something very difficult to achieve and he did it at a very young age.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Batistuta also had an efficient and powerful game with 2 goals and 2 assists both to Ronaldo without too many touches of the ball. Ronaldo was great for sure but I personally think he over dribbled and was late on many passes. There was a few times he could have passed to Batistuta and he could record more assists easily. It would be a bigger slaughter.

Keep in mind that, Ronaldo was playing this game as a # 10 .. almost same position as Zidane and we've seen the difference between these two greats. Ronaldo was creating and scoring, while zidane was struggling to break free and great long range passes. This shows you R9 was a player from another planet. The simple reason why Brazilian was world famous in the late 90s.
This man should've been the greatest to ever played the football pitch. I cried when his injuries took place because at that moment I knew Ronaldo would never be the same ever again. Even though this astonishing player made a comeback in the 2002 WC (which only Ronaldo could make a comeback) he still wasn't the same. Before he was fantastic. His dribbling, finishing, passes, & more. He played fantastic as usual in this football match. This video was a marvelous video you made. the gameplay and tactics wrre awesome, stuff of legends, there were many legends in this era, just a few others such as Shearer, Veron, Rui Costa, Figo, Romario, Dunga, Roy Keane, Bergkamp, Overmars, Vieira, Zola, Seedorf, Edgar Davids, Pep Guardiola, McManaman, Redondo, Ortega, Del Piero, Effenberg, Litmanen, Rivaldo, etc etc, so many legends, only naming a few off the top of my head, but those were the days, super skillful and very intelligent players, if only we had a generation of players like them today, i'd be the happiest person in the whole wide world
