Pentatonix's 2023 Chirstmas album was released the same day as this video. It's a greatest hits compilation BUT with 8 new songs. This is the only new song with an official video so far but they probably will release one or two other videos before Christmas. For now, all the songs have album audios on CZcams. The 8 new songs are -- PTX original - “Please, Santa, Please” Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"; Seal's "Kiss from a Rose" (not a Christmas song but it mentions snow 🙂); Roger Miller's "Little Toy Trains", previously done by Glen Campbell and Randy Travis; A mashup of "Christmas Time is Here" (from the Peanuts Christmas) and “Pure Imagination” (from Willy Wonka); 19th century Christmas standard -- "O Holy Night"; a new version, not their 2012 arrangement Traditional song, but with updated lyrics -- "Children Go Where I Send Thee" A "collaboration" using Elvis's voice from his recording of "O Little Town of Bethlehem"
I'm sorry Kirstin was sick for the shoot, but not only does she sound fantastic on her lead vocal, making her an adorable Christmas fairy blessing them all was the perfect way to deal with the situation. You're right: it's such a fun song, everyone everyone looks and sounds great, and the whole video just makes me feel warm and happy. Sparkly lights, good friends, good food, music and... PUPPIES!!! What more do we need for a happy Christmas? I'm wondering about the significance of the gag gifts. I've seen pictures of Mitch wearing nearly identical sunglasses, but why the book, salt and pepper shakers and rubber mallet?
My thoughts are that Kevin got the salt in the sugar/salt spoon challenge, Mitch's glasses are ones he wore in a recent MESSER video, Scott is releasing a children's book and has written a Broadway show and Matt's wife just passed the bar so a gavel possibly?? 😊
No matter what comes up these guys always make it work and look seamless, Kirstie being the Christmas Fairy was a great way to deal with her not being able to be with the gang. Her vocals are so much richer since she gave birth, pregnancy often affects a woman's diaphragm/breath control and through age and that process her voice has just gotten more rich and beautiful. I mean to be fair they've all just continued to get better and better as they've gotten older. Mitchy's voice on many of the new songs on this album bring up so much emotion and nostalgia, just with the way he plays with tone and movement. And geez do we even need to talk about the change in Scott's vocals, Lord that man can Sang!! The puppies!! OMG! The puppies were adorable. It was a great video and great to see them all having fun together. Love your reaction!❤
