How you look on idea to beat DS trilogy only with ingame phantoms and NPCs? No glitches(except for the one that allows you to get to Gwyn). No cheats. No attacking, or any damaging actions towards enemies(including undead rapport and kick)(a few exceptions: Wolnir and Aldrich). Luring to traps and cliffs allowed. You got it right, this is a pure support build.

Ehh, no malenia, fire giant skip/glitch, used summons on every boss, used cheats to add levels. You only used summons on godskin duo to make it even which was fair. I appreciate the effort he did on this run but if he's talking smack he should at least try it legit/nobly.

Apparently there was a problem with getting the 5X enemy option to work (the game wouldn’t run properly) but he did mention that otherwise he would have picked it, and will try it in the future.

@@amadeusazazel9047 damn, really? If so then that seems kind of bad. I might start rethinking buying Elden Ring. Could you maybe point out a few examples in like the other Fromsoft games where player choice wasn't taken into account?
@@horacehorace6793 In general NPC quest lines don't have a lot of bearing on the main story, in part due to Soulsborne games tendency to not spell things out to the player. But Elden Ring definitely has an issue of quest lines being very secular. In DS 1 failure to complete the questline properly could lead to Solaire and Sygmeyer dying prematurely. If you don't double back in Bloodborne then Eileen will turn hostile for not helping. In general, Elden Ring doesn't have these moments as frequently iirc and some don't feel like they had enough time in the oven like with Nepheli and Melina. But some like Ranni are exceptionally good. More time is spent on the world and bosses themselves rather than the NPC quests, which From usually doesn't put as much care into. These games in general don't have as much decision making or agency in story in service to the gameplay. Most play it for the difficult and engaging combat, diverse buildmaking, and the incredible, indirect storytelling/worldbuilding displayed in the environment. Hope that helps you take things better into account before buying.
Edit: Just to add on, Elden Ring does have more variety in the endings based on which quests you do interact with and has loads of optional content/bosses to fight that could be considered player choice. But the endings don't mean a whole lot imo but they are fun to try to hunt down.

I don't think so. From what I remember from another run. The malenias don't attack until you approach them or they approach you walking slowly. So you can solo each one before any chance of ganking happens.

Most of LilAggy's DS1 videos are just DS1 challenges that LobosJR did already like 5 years ago ("Dark Souls Randomizer, but you HAVE to equip every terrible item you find" is literally just Lobos' "DS1 Use What You See Randomizer Run" from 6 years ago). To be fair, Lobos has done like 500 challenge runs and basically anything you can think of is a "copy" of his idea for that game. Aggy has some hilariously blatant ones though. All of his popular DS1 challenges are just his version of what Lobos did already. I enjoy watching his videos and have seen most of his DS and ER challenges but he's the last person that should be pointing the finger lol.
@noc omment yeah, all of those people doing the literal exact verbatim runs with the same conditions and rules, right haha? Gun Game Mod, Fog Gate Randomizer, etc are all super old Lobos videos. Obviously he didn't create those challenges but go on his channel and then look at his top 10 videos then look at every LilAggy challenge in the DS1 Challenges playlist.
I did actually write an entire second part of the comment which I deleted talking about ubiquitous challenges like no hit runs, SL1 runs, fist only, etc that have always been around with no real definitive originator as well and credited early pioneers like UberGusMage (now UberGoose) and some other OG creators.
Also I barely watch Lobos and haven't really seen any of his videos or streams in like 3-4 years. I'm just pointing out that LilAggy is not some miraculous creative mind who's pioneering new stream and video ideas. I'm having a ton of fun watching them all and wish more people did cool challenges regardless of if they've been done before or not. A TON of people are doing DS and Elden Ring challenge videos and I like all of them.

I know it was a small part of this all around amazing video but I loved the death montage with the pokemon music over it and I prefer something like that over just skipping to very close attempts or the successful attempt because it shows the effort and pain you went through just to do this silly challenge even if you did just end up skipping the giants.

Instead of transitioning on half health, malekith and Godfrey are transitioning at 0 health, so I think the modder halved thier health so that they have the same HP. That's why they are so squishy.
It would be the exact same amount as normal just less put into a whole health bar, so they only feel squishy
Considering this is using an option from the Randomizer, that's likely the case.
I suspect that has to do with the multiplying feature being a part of a randomizer. Since it can also randomize different phases of fights into different places, it makes more sense to give every phase its own complete health bar.

Seeing this thumbnail made me want to do the challenge myself before I watched this. Did a 2× enemy challenge first, then 3×.
2× took 21 hours 35 min, lvl 201
3× took 19 hours 23 min, lvl 219
For the 2× challenge I started immediately going for Flame of the Redmanes only to find it poise-nerfed during my attempt to get the Golden Scarab. So next I went to a great strategy: My strategy for the third right off the bat was faith/arcane build using dragon talisman and mainly using rotten breath and pest threads. Then early on grabbing Mohg's trident for Bloodboon Ritual. Also I did use summons but in retrospect it's possible but significantly harder without it, and Radagon will need a whole different strategy because I relied on the putrid zombies for distraction. For the most part I had Varré's mask and Mohg's talisman for double 20% damage boost.
Surprisingly in both challenges, Malenia was destroyed by Bloodboon Ritual first try. Maliketh was easy. Godskin Duo was easy, even with six of them as Bloodboon shreds. It also shreds Gideon. In both instances the Fire Giant was ungodly difficult. On the 3× challenge I could not win until I remembered Pest Threads which absolutely shreds them. Placidusax was second hardest challenge where I had to draw one out at a time while I dodged the other two spamming lighting. Radagon and Elden Beast were third most difficult. I do not know how to DPS Radagon without summons. Mohg was easy enough to tackle early on, about 4-5 hours in. That was my strategy. Also with Godfrey, while Bloodboon shreds I still had to manage his transformations well. Two at a time with super AoE shockwaves was game over. Rykards was harder than you'd think, but I was too lazy to upgrade the sepent spear past lvl 7 so ehh. This was definitely the most difficult Elden Ring challenge I've tried so far.
Also Rennla was a cake walk, but on the 2× I tried fighting up to her early on and the Red Wolves of Radagon were ridiculously difficult. On 3× I was high enough level to shred 'em. Radahn was wrecked by rotten breath. Valiant Gargoyles were wiped by Mimic and Rotten Breath, more so in the 3× run. I should add that for Radagon I used Bloodboon and for Elden Beast I used Pest Threads. The summon was vital. The Putrid Corpses last way longer than Mimic, and a good run will last into Elden Beast.

Elden Ring can be really tough but stick it out and you’ll get there! I didn’t get past Margit on my first play through, came back to it a while later and now it’s one of my favourite games of all time. It also does get a bit easier after Limgrave until close to the end of the game
