If you don't get chills when that sax starts you aren't remotely human.
Saw him several times in Michigan, Texas and San Francisco. At the Fillmore West in SF, Alto Reed started the sax solo in the back of the auditorium, everyone turned around to see him as he came floating to the stage on a wire, playing the solo all the way down. Everyone of his concerts were great.
Still love him all these many years later....He's never lost the talent in any way!
I'm sad he has done the Roll Me Away Tour.....and I won't be able to see him perform ever again!💖💖💖 The final show in Indianapolis could not have been any better!! Well maybe if I had front row seats it might have been a tad better!!! He will always be my favorite!!!
If you've been out there,,,,,
Brings back memories.
Good times.
And towards the end when he lifts gears with ease. That song is ridiculously great.
You mean If you don't get chills when Seger starts singing you better check yourself you're dead!!
One of the greatest rock and roll artists ever! Best of the best!
MY DAD WHO JUST PASSED AWAY HE WAS A BOUNCER FOR BOB SEAGER MANY MANY YEARS AGO WHEN HE USE TO PLAY IN CLUB'S DOWN IN WEST VIRGINIA MY DAD LOVED BOB MY DAD WAS ONLY 57 JUST PASSED AWAY BUT HE SURE LOVED BOB.. GOD BLESS ALL
So sorry for your loss. Your Dad and I shared the love of Bob Seger, and being born the same year. May your memories of him make you smile.
So sorry for your loss❤Thanks for sharing such a great memory!
Sorry for your loss of your Dad! Your Dad was lucky to be his bouncer! I'm sure he feels the same! ❤️
My First concert at the age of 15 at Cobo Hall...almost the only black kid there...had the time of my life...what a Great Night !!!
Good music knows no color.
My dad grew up in harper woods. He saw bob with mitch ryder at harpos theatre in the early 70s
So, I discovered your comment on my first deep dive into Mr. Seger's songs. I wanted to hear some of the non-hits I've never heard and man are they just fine. Great singer/songwriter for damn sure.✌
This is without a doubt one of the greatest songs of rock and roll of all time!!
Thanks for all the love and support. Seriously blown away by the love from all of you.thank your
I love this song.
@@bobseger3824 this song touches my heart in a way I don't quite understand. I can see myself on the bus, in the restaurant and in each scenario mentioned in the song. And I love the saxophone in it. I was in a marching band and we traveled a lot but I bet it's different for you.
True
It sure is.But shit I've known that for 45 years.😄
This is what real talent sounds like.
Back when artists wrote their own music, and there was no such thing as auto tune.
My kids grew up on old rock, and they are jealous, that I was blessed enough to see so many great bands, including Bob Seger.
I think it's great that so many people in their twenties, love the music I grew up on.
My daughter's boyfriend spent the day with me recently, and he asked me to put on some music.
I asked him what he liked, and he rattled off about a dozen artists, from the 70s, and early eighties. I was so surprised, but we spent the day listening to some of my favorite bands from my early teens.
It was great!
I spent many years on the highway trucking. This is the ultimate late night road song, especially the line "Strung out from the road!"
I was there for the first night of that concert. I first saw Bob Seger in a little bar with about 15 tables spread out. I think it was down Brown road when it was a dirt road, not sure now. Beer was 50 cents. Iggy and the Stooges played there a short time after Bob did. I wish my wife could have seen this video with the flashback images. Bob Seger was always so meaningful for us. I worked with Joe Flores, a neighbor of his at Pontiac Motors for several years. One day my wife, then girlfriend, said she saw Bob at Pontiac Mall and she brought me back a Smokin OPs album. I would give anything if my wife was still here and we could go back in time.
Here I am...on Seger's Page again...There I am...pressing like.
Same
Dustin Hinze...YOU NAILED IT!
He's awesome 👍
and you will be back again :p
Vote early and vote often, my children. Let your voices be heard.
I'm 70 years of age and grown up with Bob Seger, this song just emphasis's what a great song writer/performer he is, so underated.
I am 68 and have a brother who is 5 years older. I was listening to Bob back in the late 1960's. He is one multi talented individual.
Thank you, John! I'm honored that my music has touched you in some way. Keep on sharing the love and spreading good vibes!
I used to live in A2, near Bob Seger High... he's never forgotten there
Much Much Love ❤️

Best rock voice ever.
WELL SAID .
How can a dead man check himself?
Just that sax intro from Alto gives me the chills, to be honest!
In 1968 Bob Seger played at our school dance Stevenson High School in Livonia Michigan. He played a lot around the Detroit area honing his music skills back then.
Hello, thanks for your positive compliment about my songs. it’s nice seeing all these beautiful comments. how are you?
No one's songs hit me as profoundly as yours do. Gotten me through many hard times and gave me many revelations in my 46 years.
Mercy👏🏼👍🏼😎
That's pretty cool!! My dad use to deliver pizzas to him in Detroit as he was getting to be big
He was a rambling gambling man!
Never again will there be this music! I look at artists of today and they could not hold a candle to him!
I sang this song to my son when he was little. I would sing it to him late at night, to get him back to sleep. He loved this song 🎵 (and how I sang it in our own special way). He's nine years old now (2021), and he still remembers the words to this song. ❤ He might not know the meaning behind the words, but he knows daddy sang it to him and that makes it special... This song came out the year I was born, and I passed it onto my son. Turn the page shall live on for another lifetime. From the suburbs of Detroit... we are grateful for you Bob!
Thanks for handing it down and keepin' it goin'! From another native Detroiter.
Awesome 🙏🏻🤗

I was walking through Walmart the other day and heard “Main Street.” I have been on a Bob Seger kick ever since. I’m 57 years old and had forgotten what a great artist Bob is. I’m super excited to be listening to his stuff again.

Main Street was the first track I ever heard of Bob's. Hooked ever since and I'm 71, even got a couple of personal e-mails from him.
@@jonsebastian4823 That’s really cool that he emailed you. He seems like the kind of person that would take the time to do that. Thanks for sharing.

The greatest story teller of them all.Bob Seger.
Saying who's the greatest story teller isn't for me to judge. I believe BB King may hold that title, but it could be Kris Kristofferson or Bob Seger, Kenny Rogers is pretty good at it as is Dolly Parton
A lot more to this business than the glory on the stage , its behind the scenes that makes the man !
I heard the words, "turn the page" the other night and I immediately had a flashback to 1984, I was 19 years old and Bob Segar was one of the first concerts I ever went to. This song always was and will always be a classic !!!
They don't make music like this anymore.. awesome
they do, you just have to dig a little deeper to find it :)
They just stopped producing the right ears nowadays.
They do. It just doesn't get played on the radio for the most part. A few get played on AC radio. Artists like Bruce Springsteen, Dennis DeYoung. Ringo Starr, Richard Marx, Styx, Journey, etc. have released new music in recent years. Goldmine magazine's critic listed a lot of older artists in their list of favorite albums and songs for their year ends recap. The late Burt Bacharach co-wrote the song "Always" with Richard Marx. Burt, was in his 90s when he co-wrote it and it is a great song. Showing that a lot of older songwriters never lose their ability to write great material. Case in point, there were some great songs on Bob Seger's Face the Promise album.
Also, check out Bob Seger's 2017 tribute to Glenn Frey the songs "I Knew You When" and "Glenn Song". Bob was still writing great songs as recent as 2016/2017.

I was born in Detroit in 1975 We Lived in DET and he picked this home like road up the freeway and said pk I’ll take it lol and my Dad was 20 haha Musta been fun times. He was a trucker after it all and he just passed away🙏🏻1/23 and we was the definition of this song plus some…..♥️ Soldier Redneck Blackbelt BadAss and a Father a Man and My Dad ♥️His sins were never for me to judge even if they Made Me Who I Am Today in Some Way.♥️‼️
Turn the Page, Night Moves, Against the Wind, three of the best songs ever done.
Beautiful loser is in that mix also
Like a rock
All of his stuff with the Silver Bullet Band is amazing.
Don't forget Roll me Away
With ALL the success he has had, he still seems like the kind of guy you could sit down and have a beer with. He doesn't have that Rock star ego, but would probably be a great friend.🤩💕💕👍 This is DEFINITELY A GREAT SONG!!
Used to smoke five packs of cigarettes a day, drank four or five bottles of wine.
Yep, he'd drink a beer with us.
Robin , you' re absoutly right : "and have a beer with " ! ....
Saw him in concert back in the day. Great talent. Great show.

Bob Seger is one of those few singer/songwriters that get better and better with age. He is a very talented songwriter who writes from his heart and soul. His songs are about life. Life's good and bad moments and it's challenges and lessons. Each song speaks to different people. To write songs like turn the page and like a rock and etc. can pertain to just about anyone. It's a gift from God to be able to write songs like these by Several. And he gets better everytime.
I think Johhny Depps new song *Miss Hedy Lamarr* is also a good one from the heart and soul too. I would love to see these two work together or do a song together. =) That is my wish anyway.
I heard Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, 1976 Nightmoves. I was 18 and graduated high school class of 76. I’ve been with you ever since. I will be 62 this April. I still listen to you like it’s the first time all over again. I love The Eagles. Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen and all kinds of music. But you sir, have and always will be my favorite. Your songs are the story of my life as well. Thank you. Joyce. West Haven Ct,U.S.A.🇺🇸 ARROW *🎱 eights and aces.

RIP Alto Reed, from your friends and fans in Detroit.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG!! To me, This isn’t just a fantastic song, I think it’s an Anthem from Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band to all of us!
I hope Bob Seger realizes what an amazing, and awesome impact this song, and in fact, the majority of all of his songs, have had on our generation and every single generation forward. Bob Seger, you made such a positive impression on me and millions of other people throughout the world! I’ve been to several of your concerts and I was blown away by you! I actually saw you at one of them. My best friend and I were standing next to a wall on the main Concourse of what was previously called/known as “The Capital Center” in Maryland. You were standing next to the other wall about 15 feet away from us. I literally had to do a double take/look at you because the last time we saw you, you had long hair and this time your hair was short and beautiful! I was totally star struck by seeing you that I couldn’t move. I was literally frozen in this moment until my friend pinched me and asked me if I was alright.
Thank you so much for sharing your many gifts and talents with us, all of the people of this beautiful world of God’s!
Mr. Bob Seger, YOU mean more to people than you’ve ever thought possible. YOU MATTER! YOU have made a difference in the world! That’s NOT a coincidence either. Thank you for sharing your songs with me and us!
May God Bless You and your family now and forever.
Now this is a song with the words, the emotions, and real story of one of the greatest musicians. Thanks, Bob❤

That is one of the best sax starts of any song I've ever heard
I like how he calls it an old one in 1975. Here I am still singing along in 2023 heard it the first time done by a cover band at a JR high dance 1973
because its from the Album back in 72, which he refuses to re-release, unfortunately.
Hipe you’ve heard the Metallica cover. Also equally great!
Bob is one of the all-time greats. Love his music. I was fortunate to see him live.

Ive had the pleasure of seeing Bob Seger 6 times. This song always started the build to the kick azz finale. I saw him many times in a 12,000 seat arena back in the day. Amazing memories.
SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST
This is no doubt the best song he sang. He's got a great voice, so strong, and he puts on a great show! He's fantastic.
He lives right by me. I used to see him at the local bar. Great guy
Had to Google the song it came on during the transition from radio to my CarPlay. This song pulls you in.

Rest in Peace Alto. Of the hundreds of artists I've seen perform live, when I first saw you and Bob perform this during "The Distance" tour, where you were lit by a blue spotlight and Bob, at the keyboard under a red spotlight, with the rest of the stage dark - it's one of the most enduring concert memories I have. Thank you for that image that I will always play over in my head. Rest in peace.

Back in 1975 my brother came over to my house and I had "Turn the page" playing on the record player, he was in a band and they just came off the road, he heard this song for the first time and he listened to it with his eyes closed! He said this song was his life on the road. He past away in 1999. Every time I hear it I think of my brother, Jimmy.
A rock and roll staple. Thanks Bob.

Some memories never fade
Anybody else still runnin against the wind
Well you walk into a restaurant
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode
Most times you can't hear 'em talk
Other times you can
All the same old cliches
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered
You don't dare make a stand
Special Thanks to Bob Segar and the band.

Hearing this song takes me back in time to Rantoul IL, fire protection tech school at the former Chanute AFB. On the weekend, after sunset, we'd hitchhike on that cold flat highway to Champaign.

In the early 80s I used to commute between LA and Phoenix, where I saw Seger twice. I'd leave LA after the rush hour traffic had died down a bit. I'd stop at Quartzsite, AZ at a little country bar for a beer or two and to chat with the barkeep/owner until he closed. I'd head east, window rolled down, with Live Bullet on the stereo. This song always made me feel very introspective, and I can still feel the wind in my hair when I hear this song today.

This is a special song man. I have no idea if he cared for Bob Seger in the slightest but my papaw passed just before quarantine and this song always kinda reminded me of him trucking. Not long after he passed my Bluetooth speaker that wasn’t even turned on(my phone was on a CZcams video and the only other device in range,my brothers phone was on his AirPods), this exact live version which I had downloaded from Apple Music since I was a kid played on the speaker. I don’t even have the Apple Music app on this phone, but after the initial freak out of what’s goin on it soon clicked that it was my papaw playing it. It had taken me a couple weeks to play anything on the speaker, and here we are 8 months past his passing that I’ve finally got the gut to listen to this song. I’m about 95% certain this is the right live version but gonna hunt around to make sure.
It was the live 74 version I’ve decided
Historic Band, Historic Voice, Historic Performer.....Bob Seger.....Detroit Rock n Roll.....
One of my favorites
You can just feel the diesel's boom and clatter between the frame rails radiating out into the night.
I love this song so much. Someone asked on Twitter Turn the Page or some other song. I said Turn the Page and someone else posted this. I cam and listened for the thousandth time. I know the words by heart. ✌🏻 🤘
