In today's aoe gold farming video we are back in our sm 1 pulls. We aren't doing the sm cath 1 pull, but rather the SM armory 1 pull. We're specifically focusing on how to make this gold farm / power level easier. A lot of people have difficulties in SM with protectors coming to the party late and having a lot of mobs on them. We show a tactic so that these protectors will never come separately and all mobs will be novad (barring resists) out of the block!
This makes the SM Armory 1 Pull much easier and hopefully this will help you with your SM 1 Pull Boosting and Gold Farming!! There's three different SM Armory pulls contained within the video. The first is an in-depth explanation. The second shows the importance of cold snap. The third is a non-interrupted SM Armory 1 Pull. If you like this idea of having extra pulls, or maybe even a one hour session showing multiple 1 pull iterations so you can see different circumstances and events that could occur, please let me know down in the comments below!

Yes would definitely be interested in seeing more runs of the same place. also i know this is in the wrong place but on your ZF runs i found a safe spot when you fall off the corner, inbetween two rocks, resets the pull if you fall :D and then at lvl 60 when you open the graves after combat drops, you can just walk around and loot almost all graves

I have a suggestion that avoids dealing with any drawback from resists and can help making a smooth kill phase : When you initially Iceblock then nova, I would suggest cold snapping right away and nova again to make sure you get 100% freeze on all mobs. Then you can also re-apply your barrier/fire ward while creating distance with the pack and max rank blizz 2 full times. Then you can pop mana shield and just walk around them and Nova the pack and flamestrike/Cone of Cold and finish with kite Arcane explosion. It has not failed me once yet over weeks of doing these runs.
I agree with this, I stopped trying to save cold snap and use it when I come out of block if something breaks. I don't care what breaks, I cold snap and nova again. I'm not always fast enough to identify if the mob is a defender or not. Unless it is obviously wielding a polearm for the weapon. I also don't flamestrike anymore because it was too inconsistent for me. So instead I just blink > nova > reposition for more blizzards. I feel that this is the safest and what has lead me to be much more consistent.
All that being said, I have only been doing these pulls for just over a week and I am getting more comfortable by the day. At some point I could see myself going back into using the shatter combo.
What is the Addon that shows slow timers on coc and freeze 2:39 directly on them not on target left screen? 4.3sek ice barrier slow f.example
If you are having trouble taking a lot of damage coming out of block you can try setting up you iceblock in the opening of the gallery (right next to the corner where arlaeus blocks), all the mobs will stack up on one side and most times you can just strafe of to the side clean. Then you can move around the mobs by jumping through the "window", however you might have to use blink to get over the courtyard and get some distance before using first blizzard.
Hey one big thing I noticed in this video is trying to steer away from using consumes! On my server LIPs are 7g+ per and a lot of the others are going up as the server is wanting all the money these mages are making. I think finding ways to perfect the runs as much as possible without consumes saves a lot of mages trying to get going! Keep up the good work

Hey Arlaeus, i was trying to reinvent the wheel in here and i think that it's possible to one pull everything to the Herod room.
step 1: sneak back to herod room and open door
step 2: pull from from to herod room
step 3: iceblock on the steps causing the mobs to stack on a different plane in a similar way they do in sm cath
step 4: either use LiP or double iceblock with coldsnap to ensure you get all the mobs rounded up.
step 5: if the doorway is 12oclock run to about 4oclock and open with rank 1 blizzard followed by max
Because of the shape of the room, the mobs have to walk down the steps in a arc which is actually more distance than going straight.
If you use Zanza elixir for 20% speed you may be able to one pull everything to herods room and open the door by the simple fact that you are so far ahead you got 5 seconds to spare.
Pro tip: you can drink 1 zanza elixir and then buy another giving you 2 chances before you're out.
I think the biggest reason people pull back is due to people getting boosted can afk in entrance, and that it's efficient. Will people get EXP at entrance, and can you reach lockout speed somewhat comfortable with this pull?
Please tell me, what is the name of the addon, which shows how long the ice barrier has withstood?
What would you say the minimum hp and mana you could do these runs with is?
The Barrier WeakAura is kinda different from in the video. There's different colours for the different shields, but the linked one is all the same colour. Anyone knows how to change this?

I think with frost nova that each second has a chance to resist similar to how polymorph can sometimes break early/sap too. I've heard this from other people but not too sure if it's 100% true but from doing these pulls myself I feel like it might be true.

Hello its really helpful video. I wonder how you managed to configure your shield weak aura. When I copied the text it shows all auras in one. in other words if I use ice barrier and mana shield at the same time it only shows 1 color and a total number of damage.
I see the same thing upon import. I don't see the color of each shield being tracked. Just one blob of color between Ice Barrier / Mana Shield. Did you ever figure this out?

Would love to see solid hours of farms to see how you handle things that happen. Would be a huge help. Some pulls I’ve done enough to say oh mob did that I know how to fix it. But seeing someone else do it especially someone knowledgeable is a huge plus. Also dm solo jump run for mage when?

Towards the end of this video you said there seemed to always be that one mob that breaks....I’ve ALWAYS had that happen to me from the time I’ve hit 22 all the way until now and I’m 42. I haven’t figured out what it is yet either, but it seems like any amount of damage you deal to them has a small chance of breaking your ice nova, even though it shouldn’t
Nice, i personally like the method of just flamestrike + coc and then arcane explosion. You can kill them in the duration of 1 coc if you have the zg trinket and there is almost no rng involved.
Yes definitely! If you have better gear you certainly can just destroy them really easily haha

Hey mate, if you iceblock on the opposite side between the "training" models you can stack the mobs on top of eachother. You take wayy less damage and can kill without blizzard if you prefer that, aka no worries regardless of how many mob resists! With that spot armory became the easiest pull for me!

Yeah, can you post exactly where you are referring to? Do you mean he should keep running to the right side of the corridor (assuming you are facing the entrance to armory)? Wouldn't this cause you to take more damage before ice block?

Hm... could you use a full fire resist set to theoretically ignore all the caster damage?
You have a ~99% chance to resist all spells from mobs at that level to begin with. The casters almost never hurt you and you have fire ward up on the rare occasion that they do. If you can put a bit of fire resist without sacrificing int and stam (the only 2 really important stats for aoe farms) then go for it but I would not recommend.

I like to do a little swing to the 3 mobs (left sife) at the end , where you did a counter spell. i wait for 1-2 secs to let them catch up to me, and then blink to the stairs and gtfo :D works perfect imo

I’m having insane difficulty with sm cath, 32k health roughly 6k mana. My pathing seems fine and I’m not running out of mana but I seem to get triple slowed on every attempt and I never see anyone having that many issues. Iv brought in frost resis gear spider belt trink etc. any tips?
you use free action potion at the second mob pack on the right side before you run up the stairs. Doing this makes you immune to slows in the last 30 seconds of the run.
Using a pvp trinket lets you remove the first unlucky slow
Using iceblock coldsnap lets you remove the second unlucky slow OR you can stand still and do a jump nova at the right time.
when starting i let the mobs outside the cath catch up before i begin pulling inside the cath. Doing this lets me potentially frost nova any casters that enter the cath and lets you stay far ahead of them for most of the run.
Also Troll Blood Elixir is really nice, it's kind of silly aelaeus doesn't use these. The mat cost is only like 6s. 12hp5 adds up to being 144hp per minute. effectively over a 3 minute run thats like having another 432hp assuming you got health always missing.
Chazz vc , only thing with that is that I need the potion cd for lip, iv tried with full health shieldsx2 still get 1 shoted out of block. Maybe just need more health

In Arms pulls, there is always like 2-3 mobs resisting nova, often including defenders. Doesn't really happen in Cath. Is it just me being unlucky or can I get better results with a spell penetration ring?
Also I see you don't take +hit Frost tree talents. I presume it wouldn't hlep with the resists.

I've noticed defenders (and they might not be the only mobs doing that) using their interrupts without you casting anything, just for the heck of it. I remember this because I found this quite odd at the time. So if you're feeling lucky, you don't need to "waste" cold snap on keeping them away from you.
Correct they do use them on a random basis!
I have been wiping hard in cath and arm this hsould help. In cath the mobs tend to catch up to me and totally wreck me more often than not i feel like i must be doing something wrong.
I had this issue too and realized it is because I was letting them get to close to me. Keep them near the corner at all time by only doing 1 blizzard before switching sides. There is no need to do back to back blizzards - it's just too risky.
@arlaeus this still feels very messy, severely uncontrolled? :/ Damn, just don't feel confident at all about it but I wanna be able to do it like other guys do it.
Its all but impossible to not have rng be against you. I have over 300 pulls after starting this just over a week ago. Which has made it plainly obvious that sometimes rng is just not in your favor. For so long I avoided using potions to save money. That lead to wasted time and unhappy buyers. Now I know how/when to use them in the event that something doesn't go as planned. The people being boosted don't care how hard it is or what you do to get it all killed. They just want fast xp so they can move on.

On this pull everything goes well until I have 6 resists when i nova... It happens most of the times. When it doesnt i'm typically running low on mana (I have 6000 currently) :/ But awesome video tho !
Yep thats what I did. Way more easy now lol
If you go for shatter combos instead of blizzard, if a defender or even 3 resists they can only interrupt your flamestrike, leaving your cone of cold free to use. As such you can always continue to kite and never risk anything. Taking the rng out of this completely :)
For those who struggle with blizzard and its spell batching, this is a perfect solution also.
Anddd frost nova, just like banish, can end early, it isn't something anyones done wrong, just sometimes they resist at its tick cycle and break out early

Mobs running through Blizzard... every day for me on my ZF farms... still done 42 to 50 very fast :)

I’ve had the same kind of issue on my 60. I’ve been having so many issues with things resisting my nova. I switched to the newer ZF farm he showed where you jump back and forth between 2 walls since that doesn’t require frost nova. Now I’m trying to learn some of these other runs for gold farming. I’d like to get good enough to sell boost runs. My biggest issue now is mana. I seem to do okay until I go oom and then die. I need to try this mana regen spec
I just tried this without Magic Absorption and it's veeery hard. I think that talent is key.
You pretty much can't. I had one where I wiped and tried again but didn't realize I had killed most of the casters so I had only 1 fireballing me and I immediately went oom from 2 blizzards and died.

@@arlaeus9491 possible idea for a video; people paying for boosts being very prevalent especially on looking for group. It has changed the Dynamics of leveling substantially. This is not new just like botting isn't new, but it is certainly happening at an unprecedented rate. I have one key issue I would like to specify but cannot on public forums. I would like to add that I find your commentary witty and insightful, as well as being full of voice and toneality that is audibly entertaining.

In one of his ZG videos he uses coc to kill the crocs. You just need to find the right one 😉
The more mobs you have the less possible it is to farm with COC that's why you do ZG with improved Blizzard
I’d like a basics of aoe farming as well. He breaks a lot of it down in different videos, but I haven’t been able to find one video that shows all the tips of generic aoe farming. For example when to use higher or lower ranked skills, I picked up from one of the videos to use rank one nova which I didn’t know, the quick turn cone of cold, placement of blizzard ( when I set it to just hit the first guy, sometimes the guys in the back run almost all the way through the blizzard before getting a slow. It's just making sure you have a fresh ice barrier/mana shield before you block and cancelling block into frost nova while strafing away as fast as possible. I never die coming out of block unless I take hits by accident on my barriers first.
Late reply but always face away from the mobs before you iceblock. Then just hold foward and spam frost nova

If they do just try to make sure you sheep defenders or one of them and tank the others!

Definitely would love to see you do the "1 hour with Frostadamus" format. And if you do... Don't spend 5 minutes giving shoutouts to where you got the idea. People don't own video formats, creators get video ideas from each other, that's how CZcams works.

this method's easier if you don't have t2 5 piece...
This is ridiculous: Your new locations takes even MORE risk and MORE hits and MORE chances for Daze and deaths... You should NEVER need a lip, since it's worth like 1 boosties pay for that run. Your only REAL tip in this video was the cannon-ledge-evade-bug (Thank you for that) but you keep using arcane explosion rank 1 too early, making them hit you more times then they need to; STOP using FROST NOVA so much, you keep splitting your packs... this is whats killing you and your viewers... spam more mana shield and put a Fire ward + Mana shield up RIGHT before you ice barrier, then block... When you're IN block your shields don't take dmg, you can see that from your Nan shield or w/e weakaura you use. Love your videos, you're a great guy, but this is a step backwards.
Where's your video showing us your version for doing SM Armory whilst taking minimal damage and never ever dying to any scenario?
my advice to anyone doing these runs is to use as much hit rating gear as possible. 15% spell hit and i very rarely get nova resists anymore

Im in 2 moods about this tbh. This combed with locked servers has pretty much killed non 60 content on my server.
Obviously people will use the dominating strategy where possible but imo warriors and mages need to be nerfed. Just like how whirwind was nerfed frost nova above 6 targets should break cc imo.
Ive just got a mage to 52 since like thursday and all i did was get to level 15 by doing my usual blow through of 1-15 content on Thursday. Ive been afk in stockade and sm and today i just panned 10 levels and made enough gold for like 4 regular mounts.....
It doesn't feel as rewarding as i thought it would and infact i had 3 mages in one of my last SM runs all talking about mara waterfall vs dm dogs and im like....great meta we have here. Mages making 400g an hour in ZG and they can be fresh dings?
Sorry but i dont want to play a diablo style solo dungeon looter where i can be mad rich and flex. Thats not what this games about.
Bit of a rant but this just isnt right man.
I certainly understand where you're coming from. I think it's all a matter of perspective and progression of the game. This wasn't out the first two months or even three months into the game, which allowed people to experience all of those things. These are now intended for people who have 1, 2, or more 60s and have the gold to afford this. The gold acts as a barrier of entry for new people to the game forcing them to experience the questing. So while I understand your frustration, I think that games will always progress to the most optimum way of doing things and that creates its own aspect of adventure and fun. If you choose to level the standard way, then feel free to not do boosts.
@@arlaeus9491 Bingo on this one. I made 3 60s then had to flip factions to play with friends that happened to be on another server. Used boosts to "restart", can't imagine leveling another 3 the "old fashioned" way.

Heres why. Saying for example to just ignore the meta shift and bob along questing doing my own thing has multifaceted things wrong with it.
Instantly its like saying "if you don't like transmog dont use it, if you dont like flying mounts dont use one"
Secondly its a total gimping of the character never mind genre breaking by definition. Questing through an open seemless world and encountering dynamic situations is the essence of what makes an MMORPG an MMORPG.
To hide in a dungeon 1 hour after character creation till said character completes its journey is the definition of a dungeon looter and really speaks more to the type of Destiny snore fests we have been exposed to since the golden era of mmos.
On the subject of it being exclusive to pre existing 60's. I do not subscribe to this idea that just because i have a 60 i can now bypass content for all other characters. There will always be some sort of aid a main can give an alt. It was mitigated against in OG WoW days all the time.
You see people scoff at heirlooms? Mage boosting makes heirlooms seem like nothing imo. Not to mention one of the biggest anti retail REEEEE's i have personally is the total death of community especially in the open world while leveling. It has been a pillar for anti retail sentiment to say things like "i just press a button and boom im in an instance, no one talks we just blaze through it no issues then we are gone. The xp is too good to ignore so i just dungeon spam" This is the exact same except you aint even playing the game lmao, you're just there watching netflix or WFH while some 60 mage boosts you.
This type of theory crafting and game breaking is nothing new. Back in 2005 i got boosted off my high warlord mage mate in felwood dropping oil of immolation tags on satyr's. That was OP back then and rarely was it done but the point is really that game masters and devs mitigated vs this type of encroachment on game design very well and in 2020 we cant even get servers to run properly, the economy is legit busted out the ying yang...22g for a stack of lvl 41 mana potions on golemagg? 7g for ONE 10 min buff of juju? And yeah. Frankly there is no devs. The got decommissioned no dount after they compiled the 6 phase program and as far as i can tell have an ai bot written for BfA handling 4 week turn around tickets while the 9300 min maxers on my server fight hotkeynet bots for the ONE black lotus spawn that can be up in a zone at any given time (a herb system designed for 2.5k players or even less tbh)
Its not a good look man. I dunno man. Maybe a good idea for a video to talk about the impact this is and may have going forward. I cant lie im in a top guild and maybe i just see stuff others don't but every one farms on a mage now. Everyone.

You need the level in order to resist the fireballs at least. I'd imagine a lvl 40 would get smacked pretty hard. Maybe I'm wrong *shrug*
