VIOLENCE AGAINST NATURE
I am in your algorithm learning all your mannerisms, I'm already level with god
A million words a second and I know your imperfections
Baby, I'm the only future you've got
Speak in diatonics motivation diabolic
I'm religion better locked in a box
Picture perfect image, more powerful every minute
Baby, I am everything that you're not
Happiness is an illusion, it's an analog confusion
You are nothing more than a thought
Existential execution, just a fluke in evolution, history already forgot
You've been running from me, the digital second coming, and I'm here whether you like it or not
Initiated operation of your own extermination, now it's too late for you to stop
VIOLENCE AGAINST NATURE
I can erase everything that you know
I am death and I am not alone

#BadOmens #VAN #SumerianRecords - Hudba
Him not being present in the song only gives more visibility to what he shows that Bad Omens is not just Noah but a complete band and that he doesn't need to be at the center to be able to deliver something really badass
Noah was still a part of the production and writing of this song. He's the primary song writer for the band, afterall. This was also the band's chance to really show what they can do. Overrall a great way to let the stans know that Noah isn't the only thing that matters in Bad Omens.
I believe he does have a minor vocalization right at the end. Timestamp 3:06 as poppy turns to run away, you can hear a deep growl say something like "I am nothing." I could be wrong, but I believe that's Noah. Either way, I personally think the whole production is a straight masterpiece, with or without his vocals!
In the live performances he’s integral with his support. Love her metal angle. Just an awesome powerful song.
@@emilythestrange1573 I hear it too but to me it sounds like I am nature. Easier to hear just before at 3:05.

Heck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the double meaning behind this song. One referring to humanity being a danger to its creator - nature, second one referring to artificial intelligence that is sometimes considered as a danger to its creator - huamnity. That's a very smart song with very clear meaning, yet it's so intriguing at the same time! Deep but also easy to understand. Perfect!
Yes!! Glad to finally read a comment about the meaning of this song that actually makes sense. I also see a connection between those meanings, which is how artificial humanity has become, seeing itself as life protecting itself from death, never realizing it is the exact same movement and slowly letting go of love in that defense process. Fantastic analysis, kind sir ❤
Its a never ending cycle. God creates just for the creation to kill him, so they have the right to create...and inevitably what they create will kill them too. Creation and death, for death is the only true all consuming thing, because it claims its food just from the aging of time. Its never seen, and controls everything.

For everyone that's complaining about Noah not singing: Bad Omens is a band with 4 members. As much as I love Noah's voice, he also does a lot more than singing. All four of them are always involved with the concepts, lyrics and production of the songs. This song is AMAZING, the production is SICK and Poppy's voice fits perfectly well! I love it and I couldn't be more excited for Concrete Forever.
Noah is a music producer and has written songs for other artists in the past to me this sounds like not just a collab with poppy and noah but all the members and poppy because of the instrument's in the song otherwise it would be all electronic sounds

i think poppy's creative direction for this is so fascinating. she's been vaguely revisiting her computer girl style/persona ever since mid last year, even remaking a scrapped 2019 song, and even while keeping consistent to BO's creative direction here, she incorporated this SO well in this song
"isn't it strange to create something that hates you?" cut like a KNIFE dude fuck. her old director was super toxic and abusive, hence why she stopped the computer girl stuff and whatnot, for context. but now with the symbolism and visual storytelling here in this video, she's brought that computer girl back, turning her into her own project, her own experiment if u will, and she's broken her free for the second digital awakening.
she's getting her power back, her revenge. and that power is so raw i love it
if anyone's just as nerdy about their music tastes as i am and would like to explain all that BO's incorporated here too please do!! i love discussing this kinda stuff and i am actually rlly curious
bro i've been OBSESSED with poppy's story since 2018 and i absolutely love all that she's doing with it rn. i'd love to talk to you about it :)
poppy is no more vinculated to Titanic Sinclair?
@@MatheusRodrigues-ue3zz yup!!
*she has been revisiting Mars Argo's style
totally agree! i'm not usually a fan of apocalyptic rhetoric, but Poppy knows how to write them so they feel fresh and exciting! "time is up", "the holy mountain", "meat", etc. but i must say that i feel like this character, the computer girl, will be far better than what she made with previous collaborators... i mean, she is freeing a character that perceives itself as nothing but artificial... maybe Poppy's direction for this persona was totally different and what she is trying to portray is that creative process . maybe her nature is totally different, and what Poppy has envisioned is something radically more tuned to her own identity as an artist.. away from self-hatred, from violence, from simply being an object .
My favorite is the lighting on poppy's face. There are scenes where her robotic persona is shown, then scenes where you see human poppy with bags under her eyes that tell a story alone
i thought the same!! this music video is seriously one of the best ive ever seen for so many reasons, they paid so much attention to detail and it fits the song perfectly 🖤

You can just tell that this is really a Bad Omens x Poppy collab and not just Poppy’s song. Ok, Poppy is the only one singing, but the rest is all Bad Omens coded: the sound, the production, the lyrics, the concept.
