When I was 10 I lied to MY optometrist and faked my eye test to get glasses like JOHN LENNON ... because he was shot just WEEKS before - that's how old I am ... when the LAST Harry Potter came out - my daughter wanted to go to Hogwarts (despite the DEATH EATERS) - that's how old she was !

I’m not gonna lie I wanted them too but I only got sunglasses like him because there was nothing with my eyesight back then but now it’s kinda of weak but not too weak for permanent eyeglasses the glasses that I have are primarily reading glasses and no they’re not circular glasses
I mean, without the proper lenses for vision correction they're very cheap, really. I thought glasses were cool because smart characters used them, so I asked my mom to buy a pair for me. She just did and I used them for a few days. Nowadays I actually need them lmao

You actually get attached to the charakters. I prefer books, but movies belong to the whole Harry Potter experience as well. :)
I’ve watched all the movies and I love them. Haven’t read the novels though. But I have read his dark materials, so there is that.
@@natalie-gb2jv I read them as an adult just to see what the fuss was about. Sorcerers Stone and Chamber of Secrets are written for kids the same age as the characters, so I enjoyed them but was a little bored. Things really get going with Prisoner of Azkaban. Definitely recommend them.
@@natalie-gb2jv They really are. The books are better. I thought the books were going to be kids junk but I was happily surprised. Then see the movies. They are different with the books having a lot more in them and being more complex. I'd put them up there with the all time greats for me.

I did the same thing, I loved the first 5 books, read them all in one go basically. When I finished, the next book was right around the corner so I read that one as well. Then I had to wait 2 years for the next one and I just lost all interest for some reason. Maybe back then I thought I was getting too old for HP? Dunno....

“I lie to the optometrist”...well we all kinda did that to get the Harry’s glasses! My mum found out that I did lie to the optometrist when I was able to read really well close and afar!
Btw I was “Margot Robbie’s too old to have read HP as a teenager”...it turns out she’s 1 year younger than me.
You know , my mother thought the same thing , that I lied to the ophthalmologist and I wanted glasses not needed them and so she wouldn’t let me wear them . 2 year later , on the school doctors recommendation ,my mom took me to the doctor again and found out that I was a high myope with -3D myopia . I was 11 years old 😂
I thought I was the only one who did that.. Now I can't see properly without glasses but no regrets 😂

Awww that thing about the glasses was sweet - when I was about 7 I lied about that too to the optician but to the extent that they were about to take me into hospital to basically slice my eye open because they couldn’t find anything wrong with it and thought it must be something really awful😂 anyway, I fessed up to my parents after a while and then was so self conscious and humiliated that I had lied, that, for about 7 years, every single time I walked into our local Boots’ I was terrified that they would recognise me as the girl who lied so she could get glasses. I didn’t have an eye test for almost half of my life because I was too ashamed to show my face there again 😂

I am on Daniel's side here, kinda... I read the first 4 books several times each, happily. The fifth I read it like three times, the sixth, once, but still I devoured it in a single day as I did with the others, and then the seventh, I dragged it for weeks and I mostly forgot what I had read as soon as I put the book down. Nowadays, I could read them up to the fifth if you asked me to do so, but I don't think I would read the sixth and seventh even if someone paid me.
