When you follow manufacturers’ specifications on offset and backspacing, you can have improved handling, less stress on suspension components, and even wider wheel widths can be installed for the highly sought-after staggered look on your Ford Mustang or other vehicles!
THE THREE TYPES OF OFFSET
Negative Offset: The hub mounting surface is closer to the back portion of the wheel. This will result in greater clearance for aftermarket suspension and provide you with a wider overall stance.
Zero Offset: The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
Positive Offset: The hub mounting surface is closer to the face of the wheel. This will result in extra fender and quarter panel clearance to help eliminate tire rubbing problems.
Backspacing is measured from the back portion of the wheel to the hub surface of the wheel, where it bolts to the car. Backspacing is always measured in inches and is closely related to the offset, meaning, that when you change one, it immediately affects the other.

I have a 2003 mustang GT. I have a rear end from a 1996 which is about 3/4" narrower per side. I have a 15x10 with 6.5" backspace and it fits a 275 60 15 perfect.

So, will your SVE SC 17X9 5 lug wheels work on a fox body with sn95 spindles? Which just rack limiters etc needed on the 4 lug? I noticed the spacing is different. However, I’m terrible with geometry.

Yes, the 17x9" 5-lug SC-style wheels will fit a Fox Mustang with SN95 spindles. Rack limiters will be needed and more than likely you'll also have to clearance the inner fender splash shield. We have a separate video on that. I'll link it below.
As far as the wheel specs are concerned, the 4-lug SC-style wheel has a +20mm offset to clear a Fox Body grease cap. That's why you see the small difference between the 17x9" 4-lug and 5-lug wheels.

Hey there. I want to ask you. My factory wheels have the following size. 7,5x17 et 25 6x139,7 bore center 106,1. I want to buy new wheels. The size that is close to my factory size is 8x17 et 20 6x139,7 bore center 106.1.
My question is will it fits or will I have an issue.

Hey there, it depends on the kind of car you are wanting to install the new wheels on. We specialize in the Mustang and SVT Lightning. If you have any questions or concerns about another vehicle, we recommend checking out some forums or contacting other owners that have a similar spec to compare.
Don’t forget about wheel diameter.
*Spoke design was left out. Which is very important with wheel fitment and should be included into the fundamentals of "wheel clearance and appearance"*
So to make the tire and rim flush with the car.. negative off set
You have to know what the measurements of your cars hub to fender and then find a rim that will fit using the info given in the video or you will be trying on different rims til the cows come home.
All I want to know is it it will fit. Don't give a shit about these stupid concepts.
