- SEN's AFL commentators Gerard Whateley, Anthony Hudson and Kane Cornes call the incredible Qualifying Final clash between Collingwood and Geelong.
Gives me chills. Two Cat fans who are the ultimate professionals when it comes to calling our great game.
This is so good. I love it when commentators are able to put their bias aside, yet still fist pump, their teams goal!!
This is quite hilarious. You can see Huddo barracking for Geelong while he's sitting in the commentary box, yet at the same time he's doing his very best to keep his inner most emotions in check. He has done a fantastic job of this. He would have been feeling as stressed and emotionally drained while commentating this match as any other Geelong supporter who would have been listening to the broadcast, watching the match on TV, or who was there at the match. Well done Huddo.

Absolute professionals. You can see Hudson hurting when Collingwood scores but he doesn't let any of that come through.
This win was almost as sweet as 2011 gf, almost. 07 prelim up there too I guess. Its hard to pick just one! So many crushing Collingwood defeats to choose from. God bless em.
You forgot to mention the 2010 Preliminary Final when Collingwood absolutely destroyed Geelong and went on to be Premiers. Lol.

Wow! I hope the AFL releases multiple versions of this game with different calls. This was brilliant, especially knowing the two callers are Cat fans. Cornes has no reason to love the Cats but he was having a ball.
Great to watch.....Huddo shows what we can't see when he always sounds so impartial. His commentary in 2005 when Nick Davis sunk his Cats is legendary!
I love the reaction of everyone in the commentary boxes when Rohan dropped that last mark. It was just like me at home, "YES, we're ho... oh FUCK, how did he drop that??? Nevermind we're still good."

Saw a headline “Geelong to HOST preliminary final”….ah, away from their home ground at a ground they play about 5 times a year. Not sure they know the meaning of HOST.

Home state preliminary would be correct but that is all...
It is certainly better than interstate preliminary final but it not a homeground preliminary final that about half the clubs would be lucky to have. Sydney will be only team with true home preliminary final. Cats will not be playing at Kardinia Park but at the home of football where more people can attend.

It’s well known Huddo is a Cats man, he loves Geelong. Both he and Gerard are huge Cats guys and that’s why we love them.

@@peterfromgw4615 the AFL will never allow it. Melbourne based supporters will lose there mind. They always say to Geelong people. It's not that far. Ask them to travel to Geelong. It's like they are travelling to Middle earth. But it's 2022 and it's time to change. It's a complete farce. And the AFL should be ashamed.
Time to tear up the ridiculous AFL contract that states that the MCG is the home venue for all Victorian clubs in finals. Home finals away from home have happened to Geelong so often and become so pronounced because none of the other non-MCG teams have been good enough lately to host home finals. But the same thing would be happening to them that happens to Geelong if they were.

Totally agree lads I’ve been saying this for a while, as amazing as the MCG is for atmosphere it isn’t a home final for Geelong. Important to raise it after we won too so it doesn’t look like sour grapes. It’s time to end the deafening silence from the AFL on this!

The free kick total is irrelevant. It's the free kicks that weren't paid which matters, and Geelong benefitted greatly from the umpires putting the whistle away. They were constantly caught red hot holding the ball, incorrect disposal, and chucking the footy, without being penalised, and were very lucky to win.
