As a resident of Charleston, I appreciated this video. Kiawah (key uh wah) is the place all of the transplants are building multi-million-dollar homes. King Street is the main traveled street of all tourists downtown, with tons of restaurants and shops, including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc. Many houses have "haint blue ceilings" in the tradition of Gullah-Geechee people driving evil spirits away. A bed swing on the porch is also distinctly lowcountry - everyone had them as they were created here. Charleston Tea Plantation on John's Island is free and you can see,how they process tea. The old jail in downtown is a popular spooky tour. We have America's number one restaurant, Hall's Chophouse, on King Street. The Star Wars housr is on,Sullivan's Island, as well as Edgar Allen Poe history. Come back and see more - Charleston is the #1 place to visit for 9 years straight by Travel and Leisure magazine.
Thankyou for the suggestions, great tips.
Yes, I had a magical visit!!. Do they still have the Sea Turtle Hospital?.. It's just amazing that friends from Dallas to Chicago have loved visiting Charleston!-
Wow
Excellent video, I couldn't wait to watch your video, even though it's 2am and I wake up at 6am, so I'm only going to sleep 4 hours. Randy, you are excellent, I have yet to find a youtubaire like you. I advise you, to sell your videos to the national geographic channel, you are really a perfectionist. The USA is a large open-air museum, each state has its own charm. In Charleston, I loved the beautiful architecture, it is good to live. Another thousand thank you for discovering your beautiful country. I love the USA.
Thanks Abdel, you are always so nice, hope you get some good rest
I like that this video adds admission ranges, tour descriptions, some hotel policies and nearby eateries. Those are very helpful.
Thankyou for the feedback, appreciate it
We love to see people visit, we don’t even mind if you move here. But if you do, please don’t try to turn Charleston into the place you just left. Thanks y’all! :-)
By the way, this is a GREAT video!!
Thankyou, yep I agree. If people run from a region, they should acclimate to the place they are moving to, instead of trying to change it from the place they are running from
A little too late for that. Lived here my whole life and can't wait to leave when I retire.
@@steveharrington8705 where u would move?..I am looking for a state to move from Orlando fl..

Excellent tour of my favorite city, Charleston. Your voice provides the perfect narration. I love how you include many of the great local eateries. I am really loving your videos. Charleston combines deep rooted American history with fantastic entertainment venues both outdoors and indoors, numerous and diverse menu eateries, wine & spirit tours and so much more. I fell in love with Charleston when I moved to Georgia 5 years ago and realized Charleston was only a hop, skip, & jump, away from me. Such a beautiful area. Thank you for doing this video.
Thankyou Angel for the feedback, much appreciated
Always enjoyable footage with your presentations. The narration pace was calming and informative. It left me heading for my maps and best routes to plan a visit. Thanks, look fwd to your next destination👍
Thankyou Aurora.
it's 1 a.m. in europe and I'm impatiently awaiting your video
I have been to Charleston twice. It is one of the most beautiful cities I've seen. The architecture, the vibe... is just superb!!!❤
I just love the architecture!! Great job!!

This is best Charleston video I have ever seen! We will spend, I hope, 2 nights in Mt. Pleasant this July.

@@TampaAerialMedia What is your favorite place between Charleston and Savannah? That is a hard one for me.
Hello from Italy Great video, love the music from the beggining
Great to hear from Italy, appreciate the feedback with the music, always interested what people think.
Great job Randy. I’m glad you mentioned Shem Creek; such a neat and out of the way place. Definitely worth taking the time stop by and grab some food and drinks.
You are welcome, yep Shem Creek was one of my favorite areas.
We enjoyed Shem Creek at sunset after a
Really nice meal at Pages Okra Grill

This is by far the most informative video I've watched yet. We're paying a visit in a few weeks, and this has helped tremendously to give me a go-to of where to visit.
That is great to hear, that is what we've strive for....I'd also check out the video of the tour guide I mention in the video, she was great.
Great informative video! One of the best travel guide videos I've seen on CZcams. Keep up the great work!
Thankyou Stars Misguide
@@TampaAerialMedia no problem!
Dang you're so good and thorough at this! Gonna head up from Tampa in a couple now.
Yep its a good road trip from Tampa, far enough away where you feel like you are in a very different region, yet still an easy one day drive.
Great content as always. Will come in handy on my first trip to Charleston next month 😊
You are welcome, great to hear
Fantastic Video, Thanks!!! You really covered it all, and I've chosen the spots I want to visit when I can get down there from Jersey. My mouth was watering when you showed your Gumbo, I could go for some of that right now! Bella looks like she enjoyed the trip also, that little cutie... Thank you soooo very much for all your hard work, AMAZING videography, and free travel planning!!! Where are we going next???
Thanks Dickerson, going to West Palm Bch this weekend.
@@TampaAerialMedia Oh I am so jealous! Feel free to share! PS- just watched your Savannah video again, being that it is the spooky season, and I still think it's my fave vid! Love everything you do though, Randy!
Gumbo is from Louisiana not Charleston.
Well done showing my home town

Thankyou Julieann, I appreciate that feedback
I’m from Walterboro, SC and I always wanted to live in Charleston ever since I was a little boy. Every weekend my family would take that 45 min to Charleston to eat, and have fun.
Great video! I live in upstate S.C., looking forward to going back for vacation!!
Yep, SC is a great state.
I like the background music in the video. Adds more immersive experience. Nice touch!!
Thankyou for the feedback, much appreciated
Great video Randy. I would love to visit someday to bike the greenways and tour the Yorktown. Maybe even see that ancient communications device. ☎️
yep if you do the greenway, I would reccomend the western side of the greenway, its more scenic
What an absolute gem of America. We must keep that treasure intact. Great video.
Thankyou for the kind words
For someone who's not local, this is quite a comprehensive list of our city.. kudos

Glad to be of help OTP
I am moving to Charleston soon. Love this video!!
Thankyou Susan
Charleston and Savannah are my two absolute favorite historic cities
I love Charleston I lived there with my grandparents I good times I miss being in Charleston
This is crazy, i stayed at that Days Inn( parking pass very important) And ate at Hymans as a guest of the owner!! We share good taste!
Yep, I booked it for that parking spot, eventhough it was an additional $20. Alot of people on here had reccomended Hymans.
I’m from Charleston and live 4 blocks from Hymans…don’t know anyone who lives here who would ever eat there.

I’ve been to Charleston several times and love it every time! But next time you head north you should do a video for Hilton Head Island and Beaufort/Port Royal
Yes I am looking at Hilton Head Island, may check out Beaufort/Port Royal, but probably not enough of a demand for that to do a video.
What about Poogan’s Porch for dining or 82 Queen for exquisite dinners?
Yes, Charleston is a smorgasbord for food, sights, shopping with friendly people and the best manners.
good suggestion, yep lots of great food in Charleston
Awesome travel, Love your video ^^, i will also check for new video!
I absolutely love Charleston SC and Savannah GA
Me too, and might add Myrtle Bch to that, as well will be posting a video on We May 11th.
I am American trying to move from Germany in Europe to Charleston to attend the college of charleston but Jesus Christ the rent there is insane and its hard to find a place also.
Yep if you go alittle ways outside of Charleston, I think you'll find it much cheaper.
You have to rent from outside of Charleston. It's my hometown and I can't afford to live there on Social Security that's why I live in Baton Rouge,Louisiana. When they made I - 525 they took out all the trailer parks and affordable apartments and houses. They took away Charleston's beauty and friendlyness.
Love Charleston
Here watching bro
Going to be doing the high country in SC in Nov
Make sure to check out 529 Meeting St. It's a real gem
I just returned from a trip to Charleston. Carolina Polo and Carriage CO was the horse carriage tour we took. Dave was an awesome guide. Henry's also has rooftop dining i just had beer so no comment on the food. The provost building and dungeon is a fun tour I recommend it our guide was great. We stayed in Mount Pleasant it was beautiful and real easy to get to Charleston. Patriots point is amazing and the boat to fort Sumter [also great] can be a combined ticket. This will take all day to tour the carrier fort Sumter and the awesome destroyer US Laffey. Laffey is incredible and has a great story with short videos. Vickery's is a great restaurant/bar. The griffon and Mac's and Tommy Condon"s in Charleston were excellent places for a beer and some tasty chow. The Angel Oak is a beauty. 4 days was not enough to see all Charleston had to offer. If your a fan of history this is a good place to visit.
Thankyou for all the great suggestions, I appreciate you taking the time to share the info
Thanks!
"Driving downtown Charleston you have to be very alert" (as I drive with one hand on the steering wheel, drinking coffee with the other hand, and with a dog on my lap) :-)
yep, still very alert. My eyes and my mind are on the road. Far more alert than those with a passenger and talking.
Many of the houses on south battery were constructed during reconstruction.
3/3/22 Viewing; loved it!
Thankyou Thomas, great to hear.
Thank you so much for this video!! For folks moving there for the first time, would you recommend best areas based on walkability and nature :)
I would say the Mt Pleasant area just north of downtown, but maybe others might have better info than I do.
Good video and coverage of Charleston and the surrounding area. I have only one comment, however. Kiawah Island is pronounced Kee' - a - wah. It is an old indian name from the Indians that used to live there.
thanks yep I stand corrected
This was excellent, feels like Rorschach is narrating it, but very well done.
Thankyou Michael, I appreciate the feedback
Excellent work on this guide! I'm planning a trip there in a few months and am planning on taking a number of drone shots (part 107). Did you have to get permission to fly in certain areas and if so how hard to get the contacts to apply?
Charleston is pretty open, the few areas that we restrictive used Airmap app.
Great video but I had to laugh at 4:24...."driving in downtown Charleston you have to be very alert" he says as he pulls out driving with a cup of coffee in one hand and a dog in his lap....;-)
Thankyou...Oh I am alert. Being an alert driver is about what you are paying attention to. Might be drinking coffee and have a dog on my lap, but my mind is on the road
Love city
we are FULL! Please go to SAVANNAH instead
I’m on JI! it is packed full no housing and traffic a nightmare if you do visit stay downtown and just walk around there’s enough to see & do just take the water taxi over to the Yorktown
Now you know how Florida feels. Unfortunately, Charleston would go broke without tourism.
Amen
I tell people evidently the state of Ohio New Jersey and New York are all relocating here
You do a great job and explain everything very well. Thank you for all the information Ed Evans.
Are you not doing a video for Myrtle Beach?
Yes but it will most likely be next year. Its starting to get to the point where the beaches really slow down up there, and want to do it when there is alot happening.
I love Charleston
My hometown
Beautiful city. What happened to the GMC Yukon?
I traded it in for a Ram 1500 because with the gas situation wanted a Diesel. Other than that, I loved the Yukon, but also very happy with the Ram now, I get 8-10 more mpg.
I live on King st.
Charleston is beautiful but because of all the tourists is no longer anything near as what this video says it is.
Cobblestone streets…made from ships ballast
Hi I look to see more and how is the baby to on all the trips you do
she is great, loves the traveling
If you are visiting, please walk. My ice-cream regularly melts when I’m driving behind people going 5 miles per hour.
If you could only travel to Savanah or Charleston which would you pick? Which has more to do?
That's really a toss up, Savannah probably has more to
Lived here for 57 years.
What is the overall weather like? I'm thinking about moving out of California. Weather-wise, I hear good and bad.
@@angelalaskodi3459 It's the south so it does get hot in the summer, winters can be mild mostly but sometimes cold. Like right now it's cold in the 50's for the high and 20's for the low. Also sometimes we do get snow but it's rare that it happens. The last time Charleston had snow was in 2018.
This is a genius Nicolas Cage impression, and Trust me, that's high praise!
thankyou Judd of Armies
What happened to your Yukon Denali?.
I traded it in, just wanted something more fuel efficient for as much as I'm driving now. Was completely happy with the Yukon other than mpg and size of fuel tank, wanted to switch over to Diesel, but they've had issues with the new Yukon Diesels, so I went with a Ram which so far very happy with got 26 mpg on that last trip and in the Yukon was getting about 17mpg overall mpg.
The Charleston City Market was originally a slave market, but this wasn't said in this presentation. I'm a Charleston resident and I was born and grew up here.
We didn't really film much of it so didn't want to take too much time there, its covered in alot of other videos. People call it a "Slave Market" however it was never used to sell slaves. Feed Blacks as well as slaves did work there, which is why it was given that name, and so people have wrongly believed that slaves where sold there which wasn't true.
@@TampaAerialMedia what`s a feed slave ?
Slaves were sold there! Why do you think it was called 'slave market'?
IMO, Charleston, SC is the most beautiful city in the USA. I also like Savannah, Santa Fe, Carmel, CA, and La Jolla, CA.
The large market down town is called the Slave Market by locals and those of native South Carolinians.
True, however to note, it was never used to Sell Slaves. Freed Blacks & Slaves did work that which is I believe how it got its name.
@@alison797Downtown flea market too damn to int the summer. You can have it.
