This is the Siphonysta - a coffee brewer from the future! Designed to brew Siphon style coffee, but mostly automated! After spending some time with this product, I’ll admit, I'm impressed. Is impressed the right word? No. Maybe... charmed?

The tapping on the brewers materials and speaking about "tactile clickiness" makes it easy to spot a mechanical keyboard enthusiast :D I really like it!
I do work at a mechanical keyboard company for my day job!
Actually Twinbird and Toshiba have similar or even simple version for along time . Syphonista looks attractive, but the first version must have lots of room to improve.
Sounds a bit like the failed Kickstarter project named PERK.
But they seemed to do the syphoning effect via pumps to maintain temperature control. I'm never quite sure how it worked
Great review. I'm curious - would there be a use case for this for people who live in high altitudes and can't boil water at hot enough temperatures for pour over or drip? Not sure what kind of pressure is created within the heating chamber, but if it's high enough to reach sea level atmospheric pressure, that would be really cool.
That would be a very interesting test, personally I have no clue how the physics would play out there haha - but even then that's an extremely specific use case scenario!
It's gonna be a pass for me on the Siphonysta... but a beautiful video as always!
I'd be concerned about endocrine disruptors leeching out from all that plastic. At that price-point, I don't understand why they didn't use borosilicate glass with heat-resistant grip pads built into the capsules.
That looks like A LOT of plastic parts...
Wish the clear plastic parts were glass.
Super hot water + plastic
= not great health in the long run.
Heck, I wish there was zero plastic in this whole set-up!
THEN it would be an awesome machine!
Sounds like just use pour over. $10-30. Lol.
This is wildly overengineered, and isn't even actually siphon-method. Definitely a pass.
