This storyline is so weird. Too many nonsense was justified. He had no right to hit her like that and even if the story will end like that, there was no need to make the divorce lawyer look like a villain. She was only doing her job on whatever evidence was presented to her. Her marital status is no one’s business.
She should have divorced him? YES but we need to normalize getting domestic violence perpetrators to pay for their sin. It isn’t just a sin sef, it is a crime. It will be nice if the stories can start getting educating and not just entertaining. ✌️

As much as I would have loved this movie...it promotes domestic violence, condemns single women activists...then it discourages seeking help from neighbours or friends..at one point in life we all need a support system...even though her neighbour was going through her own challenges I will applaud her for not wanting another woman in such situation. if she had not sued the husband, she wouldn't have known the reasons for his actions and would have also been living in that abusive marriage till she becomes a body bag. why would a man marry someone he claims he loves only for a Revenge? why didn't he talk about the problem and resolve it before marriage? nothing justifies the action of any man who lays his hands on women! finally, Mothers! you can do better. Stop protecting your image over your daughter's life. The society will talk and be alright las las. women's lives matter. stop promoting domestic violence! Stop giving men weak and false ego!!

Thanks for the feedback in regards to this movie... Many at times, Domestic Violence in movies sometimes are not perfect depictions of reality but they often present themes that are true, relatable, enlightening and thought provoking towards the final audience... This Movie "My Home" was not made in support of DV of to force victims to keep shut, however it happens to share an issue of how miscommunication breached a particular couple's marriage.

No one forced him to marry her, rather he married her because of his ego. He had a choice to asked her what happened, marriage is about honesty, he married her for d wrong reasons - so he won’t be put to shame then he started to beat her to avenge. It’s a silly excuse to somehow exonerate domestic assault. She could have died from all his assaults. This movie promoted Domestic violence and it suggested women somehow are responsible for the abuse in their marriage. It’s a very faulty movie likely written by a man or a woman who lacks self esteem. Marriage is about trust and love and caring and communication is key, if u don’t want your wife anymore no need to torture her and vice versa

This story line is the reason why women die in DV. How can you try to justify DV, why couldn’t the man call off the wedding, before they got married? See how they tried to display Women’s rights Activists as negative people, it’s like saying because a doctor has a medical condition,so therefore they are unfit to diagnose a medical problem. It’s just sad, because this movie really potrays the societal beliefs and standards. Her neighbour was trying to help her ,because she couldn’t help herself out of her own situation and yet they portrayed her,as though she was trying to mislead her. They kept on asking her to divorce her husband, rather than have him pay for his crimes, so my question is ,why is one better than the other, even though both options will eventually end the marriage?

Well my view about this movie is just not seating right let's be honest, irrespective whatever the case may be, no one has the right to abuse another, should we now tolerate domestic violence because there was misunderstanding and lack of communication ? this is not proper way to pass this message, it appears as though men or women going through domestic violence should not speak up because of what the Family or Society will say ? communication is vital in any form of relationship, however no one in their right senses is allowed or be allowed to be violent on the other. I don't buy this excuse at all, and I'm not impress with the fact they made reporting domestic violent to human rights activists a bad decision to make. If you are out there and watching or reading, should you find yourself in any situation as this, please speak out, and take legal actions. Let's be guided with the stories we portray online please, a lot of people and families are watching and picking one or two things from it. If you hear anything about your would-be wife, you should ask, if you are not happy do not marry her. To now realized that your wife did not do it at all. Truth is men loved more than women but we all aren't just emotional as women are, so for every man that claimed he once loved that woman he is maltreating, the lady or woman probably got it wrong somewhere with the man.
Just try and solve the puzzle and let him communicate with you where you as a female got it wrong or offended him.

If he spoke to his wife after he found out he would not have to beat her up and she could be explained the pictures in question. Rather he chose to beat his wife, he could have killed her all for nothing. Also, at what point did she go to her neighbour to say my husband beats me up or tell the neighbour about her marriage? The neighbour witnessed it when she slept over. I agree she should have taken her decision herself. A man should never raise his fist against his wife or raise his hand against anyone else. don't have to follow exactly everything the western society bring to africa through Non Government Organization for "DV activism". The lesson the story writer is trying to put our, according to my understanding is that, communication is the key of any kind of relationship in general and for marriage in particular. When you notice a strange habit or you hear something about your partner, you have to communicate to know real version of the matter. @AdouladeAdekola is one of the best. Big up to you

Not everyone out there freely talks about abuse because some of the people they told can mislead them... My friend happened to be a victim and we didn't know cause she didn't tell the right people... She was always traveling but in reality she was staying home to recover and you know how it's not everyone that has time now to check up on friend's.... But the moment it Became clear to us why she was that way we defied all the customs of her home for justice.

⭐⭐ Two stars from me simply because the story started great (talking about women disparity, social injustice and Domestic Violence in matrimonial homes) but the film deflated very quickly towards the ending. The mother and the friends were not backing her up and I don't get it?!
The other day, I heard that a child was beaten by a teacher to the extent they could not recognize the boy and following such action we all agreed and reported the person to the authority. Another instance was when we heard that a police man shot and abused a citizen in the street, also again here we all agreed and report the person to the authority because that was wrong; a madam was hired as house help but instead she was beaten and deprived of food during her employment and also in this instance we as society we all agreed that this needs to be corrected and should be handled by the authority. All my examples refer to abuse of power but today in Nigeria we still dispute on whether it is proper to report domestic violence because of what?! morality, fear of the perpetrator actually being addressed for an incorrect action?!
Then comes the issue/excuse of infedelity does that warrants beating nonsensly?! If so, I would like to know if all cheating men are being abused too.

All those typing irrelevant things about domestic violence, have you ever experienced one? If you have, then you would know, it often has nothing to do with the victim but rather the abuser. It does not need to make any sense. Many with insecurities/arrogance and extreme jealousy and tendency to control others, they will have no justification for abusing their spouse. The sooner people understand this, the better.
The movie is not supporting any violence, but showing us how it looks like in many homes. That’s common sense
