9/21/2023 - This Week on the Farm - (moving turkeys, cabin, homemade pasta & more)

- It seems like the weeks are flying by and before this one gets away from us, we decided to try to capture and share a few of our favorite moments from this week around the farm:
- the schoolhouse kiddos, Ms Rebecca, Chef Patty and everyone helped move the turkeys from the movable shelters to a larger open area.
- we made some progress on getting the foundation set the Writer's cabin that the Dougherty boys from Ohio made out of oak timber-frame at the Festival this past June.
- Mikel's hard at work on editing the first few episodes of the new season of Muletown In The Round that will debut this December on RFD-TV.
- We moved Millie the milk cow from the big barn on the other side of the farm to the school livestock barn.
- and Chef Patty showed the children at school how to make pasta by hand.

I am so proud of the way the whole community got together and built a one room. school. The children are learning so much more than they would in a public school. Proud of you Rory. Keep up the good work. 5:25 pm
I lost all hope in public schools and have been homeschooling my children for 5 years now. The unruly children made it impossible for my children to learn, so I pulled them out of public schools and now they are so happy and learning so much. God bless our children

Rory, Disney thinks they have the most magical place on earth, how wrong they are!!!! For a child to grow up in the environment you all are providing is absolutely incredibly magical!!! I’m completely in awe of it all, so perfect!!❤
I am so glad that children are being shown how to take care of all things how to live and exist on their own. Fresh food, taking care of animals. Loving God and raised in a Christian life. God bless you Rory. I will always be your number one fan.

I drive by your farm twice a day going into and home from Brentwood, TN. it makes my heart smile seeing your farmhouse and the little schoolhouse! I hope to be able to afford to come to your festival or to a Homestead concert sometime. I love your and Joey’s music, and Indiana is growing up so quickly!!
O! How I enjoy watching your videos of the activities there on your homestead! The involvement of the children is absolutely wonderful! They are learning SO many exciting things that nurture their self-reliance! The activity with the turkeys is an experience that many many children would never have! Those children will never forget that happy and exciting time! May God bless all who work on the many projects there! You have provided such a grand place for Indy and her school friends!

Watching your experiences has been an inspiration to me. My husband, daughter and I finally got a 4-acre property in the country in AL in June, but unfortunately, he died in a car that had a battery malfunction and off-gassed into the interior of the car. His sudden death was such a shock and I still am hurting, but I believe God brought us here still. Now, I shall be inspired by your ability to keep moving forward after the loss of Joey. Each day, I spend 2 hours trimming the lower branches of an acre of young pine trees. I will keep trying to improve this place until it is an Eden or God moves us elsewhere. We must always make the most of our circumstances.
That is a beautiful attitude. Obviously God is guiding you and taking care of you and your daughter. Sending love from the Midwest.
@@thewolfethatcould8878 Thank you for the love. It's been hard to be in a new place, not knowing anyone and then having my husband die just two months after we got here. We have strong faith, even when our hearts are broken, because we know God is faithful and we trust Him to provide and direct, even when things feel so uncertain.

I wish every child could grow up like this. I have so much respect for Rebecca, , she dresses like a lady and is such a great example of what a lady should be. She has a wonderful spirit and I just commend her!!

I haven't followed you before but I have your CDs. Joey touched my heart but I just found out that you have been battling skin cancer. My ex-husband was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and had his great toe amputated, the mole on his arm removed and adjoining lymph nodes also. I had been praying constantly and God yelled at me in the midst of a prayer saying "TRUST ME!". I sat straight up and said ok. The surgeon came out after all the surgery and said that they couldn't find any cancer but they were still checking. He was obviously confused and concerned that all the surgery hadn't revealed the stage 4 status. No cancer! I had wanted my husband to survive long enough to find the Lord. He is now dead from alcohol but I believe he knew he was dying and got a second chance. I hope to see him in heaven. God bless you and your family. You have been through horribly challenging times but that is where faith comes in. We will still have our down days but without Jesus there's no way back up. Love to you
