My mother volunteered with them to paint that home before it opened. I waited on them at the restaurant as a 2nd job nearby in the 1980s when he, his wife and friends came in after church services on Sundays. Very kind to me. A street is named after him in Va. Beach. R.I.P.
A very good group of people at the station. And an EXCELLENT staff. I forget the name of the news director, but he really turned around the news operation, when channel 3 had been the long time leader. And newsroom and studio in an old produce warehouse in Portsmouth!

The 1983 World Series wound up pitting the Baltimore Orioles against the Philadelphia Phillies. Wonder if Diana made a couple bucks on that bet with Bruce.
Tragic murder of a child at Norfolk General Hospital. Parenthetically, the sports focused on last title before the local Orioles franchise was eventually ruined by the poisonous Lord Peter Angeloser.
