    Thanks so very meuch.
    This helped me a bunch. The EU3000is was sputtering ....
    I checked the spark arrestor - the last guy who fixed it did not replace it.
    oh, and the filter from the sediment filter was not there either ...
    This was the stress for my whole weekend.

    Thanks for your reply. The REASON I asked is because I have a 2005 was planning to get rid of it because I was thinking it was TOO old for reliability . I love this machine. Not used much. Think I will keep it. Thanks

      KEEP IT!! These have amazed me, I have no idea how many hrs are on this unit but I know it was used with a camper for many years before I got it. I just had the power go out due to a ice storm two weeks ago and ran it for two days straight with no issues.

      Quick question, mine EU3000IS has sat for 7 years (yes i know wtf). Battery is dead just ordered one. Put fresh gas. So i put a new spark plug. It doesn’t turn on at all with the pull thing. But when i add starter fluid to the spark plug hole it starts up for a quick second then dies. Any ideas?

      @@anthonyvelazquez15 yes, you need to clean the pilot jet, it's under the plastic black idle screw. Also pull the fuel line, turn the gas on and make sure it pours out gas for at least a quart without slowing down. If it slows down, replace the tank filter. Also with everything connected and the gas on, open the drain on the carb and make sure it drains, that will ensure the carb is getting gas. Please let me know if you can't figure something out, these are very easy to fix and will be more than happy to walk you through it.

      Ok, i pulled the carbs and cleaned it and it starts! Fuel line is good! But it only stays on when i have the choke thing pulled out. As soon as i push it back in, it immediately dies, also gas no longer comes out when i turn the release thing. I may have done something wrong when putting the carb back together? Any thoughts?

    My EU3000is has 2 lines that protrude down through the frame, one is for draining the fuel I believe, but the other is blocking the screw I need to turn to allow the fuel to drain. How do I work around that?

    Hi dear;
    I have a Honda generator model EU03000is;I didn't have used it for more than 4 year,two days ago I checked up ,it wase difficult to start, I cleaned up carburettor,air cleaner,all of the petrol hosts,and replaced the spark plug with new one, but still have that problem, whe the generator starts ofter ten seconds automatically becomes off,and also during the ten seconds running the machine, generator having quakes and smoke comes out from the sensor,what's the fault with it.could guide me please?

      Sounds like you're still dealing with a carb issue. Replace the carb or take it apart and thoroughly clean it. All the Jets must be clear and the float must move freely. Don't forget the black pilot jet under the idle screw.

      A year old comment so you’ve likely already resolved it... BUT just in case and for anyone else... For any of this type stuff, of course be mindful of the fuel path so you can manage it. (The cut off on the front panel, a clamp that won’t damage the fuel line before the carb, and the flat head fuel bleed screw that stems out of the bottom of the carb bowl can either help or make a mess/harm you if you forget em.) There’s a fuel filter in the bottom of the tank where the fuel line exits the tank to the carburetor. That could be your culprit. If you suspect your carb is clean, try the bleed in the carb bowl mentioned above with the help of the panel shut off to start/stop the flow. Stream unsteady? Check the filter. Otherwise, make sure you’ve cleaned the idle (COUNT the turns to remove the black plastic screw from the carb so you can get it back to to a good starting place for setting the idle after cleaning.)
      One of these days maybe fit a valve or a different filter in line just under the tank (both if you can fit em safely). You could use that to facilitate an easy filter check or/and to check pre carb flow, and for easier fuel dump or flush for long term storage. The factory filter and it’s setup both kinda suck. The filters like to get brittle and restrict flow when left dry too long. Like when you’re being a good steward and not letting gas age in this beautiful tool.
      I’m not a mechanic or a fireman so.. take it with a grain of salt and be careful.

      Not positive but the shop manual I got with it says 1998. That seems about right.

    Do I have to remove the carburetor to get to the choke cable springs? I need to repair the choke cable because the end of it where it holds the spring keeps coming off. Any solutions how to fix? Can I just tape it down so the spring does not detach from the thing that holds the spring? I hope you understand what I'm tryna say, is sort of complicated basically my choke spring is faulty and I can't get the generator to start unless I open the side and manually pull on the spring choke from the inside.

      You just have to pull the air box off to get to the choke assembly. If the spring is coming out of place, something isn't in right or it's broken. Make sure the pin is in the choke mechanism. I mention it at 2:19

      Just unscrew it at the fuel valve and pull it out of the bottom of the tank, It's right inside the door where the carburetor is.

      @@TepcoCycleRepair Thank you! Is this normal? Always have to pull choke out to start,even when engine is warmed up. Push choke rod in right away when starts. Runs fine,idles smooth..Dennis
