And for your kind information, there are many important buildings and multiple other things affected, not just the cultural centre and minorities. The students of Banglaesh should relant and refrain from comiting further violance. Hasina committed lost of mistake. But they should also remember that defacing the statue of Lt. Shiekh Mujibur Rahaman was a wrong step. Iam 71 years old and I have seen how Mujibur Rahaman led independence movement which present Bangladesh youth have not seen. Mujib was an icon of freedom movement. The Rajakar were helping Pakistan Army to rape and kill women, children and innocent people. We gave up our classes since our school was used to shelter refugee from erstwhile East Pakistan. We took shelter inside bunker at night for safety. Mujibur was such a towering figure the youth of Bangladesh will not understand. 12000 Indian soldier lost their life to liberate Bangladesh. These heroic struggle is now history. So when I saw destruction of the statue of Mujibur Rahaman, how can I say that all the students are patriotic Bangladeshi? It only pained me and felt disgusting.

The Indian Cultural Centre in Dhaka has been burned down. The hatred for India in Bangladesh is so deep now that there are videos of Bangladeshis pulling down a statute of Sheikh Mujib himself. India has a lot of trouble coming for what they have been doing there for the last 50 years. This has also strengthened China in the Bay of Bengal. Just like India can't move in the Indian Ocean because of Yemen backed by Iran, China and Russia, in the Bay of Bengal India will be squeezed the same way. What has happened in Bangladesh will change a lot of things in South Asia and none of those changes will be good for India. Indian foreign policy has totally imploded. 👍👍

First of all, People in Bangladesh don't hate India to the core. If you ask any Bangladeshi citizen, they acknowledge India's role towards the country's freedom. But this apathy towards India happened over the last 16 years during Hasina's regime. BJP government blindly supported her dictatorial leadership. In exchange of staying in power, she gave away almost all our resources. She even failed to secure a deal with India to share river waters with Bangladesh. Rather than doing deals that will be mutually beneficial, Indian government made deals that only secured their interests and completely overlooked the citizens of Bangladesh. Common people of Bangladesh took it as a form of betrayal. If the Indian government can rectify it's mistakes, I am pretty sure the relationship will return to a best possible status.

One person said they are feeling of the victory of 1971. If that is correct how come they destroyed Bangabandhu's statue, just because she was the father of Hasina. Can we really believe this hypocrisy? Hasina may have become autocratic at later stage. But sitting from outside we have seen Bangladesh has become one of the largest in garment industry, GDP per capita has increased. All this happened during Hasina's reign. If you are unsatisfied with your PM, you must protest. But destroying public properties, putting fire at college and universities, etc. are not the way to show anger. This really shows the actual picture that in the name of student protest, some radical and evil minded who wanted to gain control of Bangladesh has succeeded.
