Thank you SO MUCH for your channel! I have already booked an extensive trip to Spain and Portugal this year, so I know which cities I'm staying in and I'm getting around by train, but I still need to work out what I'm doing (including day trips). Your videos are so clear and helpful. I was trying to puzzle my way through all of the information about different Alhambra tickets and how a visit works, and this particular video made things much clearer (and you included the places included in the "Dobla de Oro General" ticket as well). I now have much more confidence in how to spend my time in Granada (4 nights, phew!) and look forward to seeing more about other cities that I'm visiting.

Bear in mind you cannot drive your car through the centre of Granada or you'll be fined. There are parking lots outside the centre. We don't understand why you don't stay in Granada. I wanted to ask why you feel the Nasrid Palace portion of visiting the Alhambra should be left toward the end of the day? Would this be for all times of the year, including summer visits?

      1) The Dobla de Oro General includes entry to Alhambra and access to a series of monuments in the Albaicín neighborhood. You will only be able to visit if you dedicate enough time to Granada - we recommend a minimum of three nights in the city.

Hi Tony, thanks for the granada guide. I'd like to ask your advice from sevilla to granada is it better travel by train or bus? I found train ticket is not cheap, book 2 months ahead cost eur 47,2 and same price different time. Is this normal price? I checked alsa bus cost about eur 30,67. I have never taken long distance bus in spain, not sure if it's reliable. Thanks a lot.

Hi Millie, either option is valid, choose the one that offers you better travel times and suits better your budget. Alsa buses are reliable. All the best.

One more question; could you recommend a day trip from Granada ? Would Almeria be an interesting trip?
    Thank you

That's a good question for which we don't have a clear answer. Almería wouldn't be our choice. Probably the region of the Alpujarras, which we haven't explored yet. Or, depending on the time of the year, Sierra Nevada near Granada.

When we were in Granada, we stayed at Pension Alfin, which was just 500 feet from the back gate of the Alhambra. It was beautiful. We can't wait to get back.

SCAM ALERT! I am going to be visiting granada in two weeks. I purchased tickets for the Alhambra from a link that says Official and the website looks extremely professional with no indication that it is a different company. I purchased the tickets for 85$ each and now that I see the real website I am really frustrated that I was 140$ extra. I am usually really good at spotting these things! That is so much money. Now the time slots on the official page are all booked up so if I could even get a refund I would miss out on seeing the Alhambra. The tick site was through My top tours and I didn't know that until I recieved the email confirmation. I hope the tickets are at least real and I get to see the site.

Really sorry you felt for a scam that is becoming more common every day. We published a video on exactly the same scam but applied to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona: czcams.com/video/puD7LKTiplA/video.html Hope your tickets will be legit, in the case of resellers of Alhambra tickets, there is the additional risk of the tickets not being accepted at the entrance. All tickets must have the name of the person who purchased them written on them.

In our opinion, and that of some our art specialist colleagues (who initially cautioned us against the nocturnal sojourn), in its current disposition, the night visit epitomizes an absolute squandering of resources, featuring a lighting project devoid of merit and an array of constraints that transmute the visitation into a suboptimal odyssey. There exist myriad genuinely splendid nocturnal excursions to architectural marvels in Spain; however, the Alhambra does not lay claim to such distinction.
