2024 Hyundai Santa Fe first drive: An edgier look for a familiar SUV

- Hyundai is on a design roll these days. Everything that's coming out of the brand's South Korean design studios looks fresh and interesting, and that's very much the case with the new Santa Fe. Dropping next year, the 2024 Santa Fe looks nothing like the current car. In fact it looks more like a Land Rover, but still has a look all its own. But how does it drive? That's what we headed to South Korea to find out.

Did anyone notice that he says Honda and not Hyundai? And he said it twice...
It's all I could hear...he's not saying Honda, just pronouncing it wrong to the point where it sounds like Honda

"hun-day" is correct. Also, for no reason at all, "nuclear" is pronounced "new-clear", not "new-cue-lar". Can't stand that.
Clearly I need to work on my pronunciation. It's ironic given I actually learned to drive on a Hyundai. Perhaps this is a bit of my Vermonter accent thst still shines through? Frustrating that I've not had my pronunciation corrected in all these years. Anyhow, I'll do better next time. Thanks all for watching and for correcting me now.

Honestly I thought it was fine and I grew in S Korea riding in the backseat of Sonata, but way to recognize your minor blunder gracefully just adds more credibility. Will look forward to more reviews

I once heard a commercial that has been ingrained in my mind ever since. At the end, it said "Hyundai, like Sunday."
1.6t hybrid for a vehicle of this size is a total joke. They put all the time and effort into designing looks (which they did well) but forgot the engineering needed to make a good vehicle.
The music on this video makes it sound like an infomercial from the early 2000s
The test isn't whether you can get in the back, it's whether a child can get in the back. It's meant for families with kids... Not 7 adults.
Some families with kids have teenagers who are adult sized, so it's helpful to see an adult in the third row. Not all families with teens are in the market for a full-sized SUV or minivan for various reasons, including the ease of driving and parking a smaller SUV for those new teenage drivers.
Why does no reviewer mention anything about the blind spot camera when the turn signal is engaged? it *IS* included on this model correct?

two things. They need to ditch the dual clutch transmission. I hate the gloss black trim around the wheel wells - just paint it to match. Great looking car other than that - love the interior.
I like the gloss back and I don't mind the transmission, I guess we all have different opinions lol.
My next vehicle needs to be a 6 seater hybrid SUV. Currently a Hyundai owner. This one is at the top of the list.
Is a perfect family size suv. As for Malaysia market the soft top os not suitable because of our hot weather and has to be 2.5T 4 cylinders engine gasoline.
How do you think this will do for a 6ft 4 driver? The last version of the santa fae did not have safe sight lines as my eyeline was in line with the visor.

What's the difference between this and the Palisade? Kind of strange that Hyundai has 2 mid-size SUVs.
Size. This is only a little larger than the current Santa Fe, which is available with a 3rd row seat in many countries. It's platform-mate the Kia Sorento has been available with a 3rd row for years.
That rear end light treatment has to be one of the ugliest things I've seen in recent memory, like WTF were they actually thinking when that got approval.
