Many of them were 17 when they first debuted, but really, they are just called Seventeen, dont read to much into it. 13 members + 3 subunits +1 group = 17 [thats the official reason, but it was a fix] The Story is 'Journey to the west' with the abridged translated version known as 'The Monkey king' a classic of chinese literature from the 17th centuary. Woozi is a small man but a giant talent [he writes and produces almost all of Seventeen songs]. Yes they are the dance kings of kpop. 5:53 If you listen to it carefully, I'm amazed by the fact that since The8 is Chinese so he says *"Sun Wukung"* in Chinese pronunciation whereas in first verse dino said *"SONOGONG"* which is korean pronunciation!!! it is so cool

With that said, I know this may seem random and probably no relation but anytime I see your last name, it reminds of Kpop group NCT's overall oldest member MOON TAE-IL. The group itself as whole has total of 26 members divided into several diverse subunits which SM has recently debuted their six-member JPN unit NCT WiSH.
love how you pointed out how synchronized they are! till this day, seventeen holds the title of "kings of synchronization" among kpop groups. ppl ran many different kpop groups through an AI and svt always came up at #1 with a 96% score despite having more members than other groups!

The dance choreography is really amazing. In the beginning e.g. they make trees and there are monkeys jumping from tree to tree. And they constantly do the finger to the head gesture and then teleport :)

The members are 1995-1999. And yes, they will be having to go pretty soon, but I think they will try and at least work thru till maybe end of this year.... 🥺 From what we know so far, they will probably be staggering the enlistment times between the 10 that will be serving, so that they can still promote as SVT during those years. 2 are Chinese (Jun & The8), and 1 American (Joshua), so they aren't affected. And 1 Korean-American dual citizen (Vernon) most likely will give up American citizenship and enlist, since he has been in Korea since he was about 4-5 years old and considers himself closer to Korean than American.

I haven't watched a lot of Seventeen but I really need to. Woozi was on SUGA's Suchwita last year and that is really worth watching to learn more about him. RM says he is SUGA's doppelganger. The story of Monkey was very popular in the UK when it was first shown here many many years ago. I wonder why they made the English title, 'Super' instead of, 'Dragon Ball'? I think the oufits you thought were so cool were in the modern Hanbok style so a modern designer's take on Hanbok. Having, Moon, there to explain the lyrics is really helpful and, Cass, you're a real fan and that comes over clearly.

Wow I just found your channel and you guys are one of the best reactors I've ever seen! I love how you really interact and talk in excitement, truly showing interest in it.
I was so happy (and proud) when Moon recognized SVT's synchronization. I actually typed this comment while watching, and I already typed "I think Moon might have to watch SVT's live performances to see how real their synchronization is. Like those from award shows or concert fancams. I mean, just if you want to see it and don't have to make videos of it. ^-^"
Now I'm on the review part and Moon said he wanted to know more which makes me laugh at the perfect coincidence🤣 So yeah please do watch their live performances😂 And please note that their synchronization isn't just from the movement timing or angle, but you can also see they jump and bow at the same height too although (as you know) their height differences are quite big.
So happy that Moon understands that it is based on Journey to The West/Dragon Ball which makes the song more interesting once you understand the story to the lyrics, not just the translated meaning. And yeah actually not just Woozi, but many (probably most) of SVT members are anime/manga lovers! Wonwoo once said he likes anime, but Joshua knows more about it and they sometimes spend the day watching anime together. Joshua also once recommended Tokyo Ghoul to a fan (who had never watched Naruto and it shocked him) as he thought Naruto would be too common for a recommendation. DK also once said a line from Shugo Chara on a live. The members had played yu gi oh cards, mentioned Hanamichi Sakuragi when they were going to play basketball on a variety show, etc. It is said that Woozi, Joshua, and Scoups top the rank for it. Well... those boys grew up together so I guess it did spread as a common interest between them😂

Hi guys :) Seventeen has 13 members but the name comes from 13 members + 3 units +1 team (the three units are The Hip Hop Unit with S.Coups (leader), Wonwoo, Mingyu(the tallest one in the group), and Vernon. While they are excellent dancers you should have showed him the GOAT alone or with us his members! No disrespect towards Seventeen I they very talented and my 2 nd fav group ! But you gotta admit there is someone who is out of anyone’s league ! And taemwork 16 years and not once were they not synchronized start with the old gen and how it impacted the dancers now because we have tons of underestimated groups and dancers !!

@@CassMoon412 '날아라 슈퍼보드'나 '서유기'도 아시나요? 기를 모으거나 순간이동,발사파등 제가본 기억에는 같습니다. 드레곤볼 뿐아니라 손오공에 관련된 중국 신화 자체를 만화라고 표현했어요.세븐틴이 드레곤볼을 모티브로 했다면 한국에서 난리가 났을겁니다. 시야가 드레곤볼이 전부인 사람들에게 일본의 영향력은 클수밖에 없고 그것을 전달하는 사람의 파급력은 더욱 커질것입니다. 국내 시국이 불안하니 한국에서 일본과 관련된 개시물은 좀더 신중하게 접근하길 바랍니다.

@@ullll._. 서유기를 주제로 한것이 맞습니다. 드래곤볼에서는 몇몇 동작을 참고한것 같습니다. 이 노래의 포인트는 시간과 공간에 상관없이 서유기의 손오공이 된것같은 세븐틴을 상상한것인데 춤동작몇개로 드래곤볼이 모티브라는건 이해할수 없습니다.
한국에는 드래곤볼을 알아차리는 사람들이 많지 않습니다.
서유기는 당연히 알고있어요. 그러한 이유로 동의하지 못합니다.
