- Dennis Hunt Interviews Desi Arnez jr. in 1983. Currently, Arnaz is performing in "Babalu: A Celebration of the Music of Desi Arnaz and his Orchestra," with Lucie Arnaz, Raul Esparza and Valarie Pettiford. There was a Miami, Florida, performance in July 2010.
He is handsome & cute like his dad & gorgeous mom !

Never took responsibility for the daughter he fathered at 15. So I think his recovery has a way to go as he clearly hasn't done the making amends thing. Also has a granddaughter he's never met or taken responsibility for.

We all have many things to over come in our lives, but Desi Arnaz Jr and his sister, Lucie Arnaz, had to do it in the spot light. Having successful and famous parents couldn't have made that any easier. I think Desi has been very successful in his life and seems to be a good soul. I think a lot of his sister too.
unlike alot of celebrity children their " struggles " weren't in press the social media was for the better different then.
Lucie is a bit more 'in your face' like Notice me just as me!! Desi is a bit more sensitive thus made him less resistant to drugs. My opinion only. I think their parents did them a disservice by naming both children after themselves. Kind of egocentric to me.

Wow great interview! I have always loved Desi Arnaz Jnr, and I know that he has gone through some tough times and come out the other end safely, but I have only ever read this, I have never seen him talk about it. This interview was so genuine and down to earth and the interviewer was right,, Desi Jnr is a true gentleman, he came across as very sincere, articulate, intelligent and a really nice guy. Be still my beating heart.....

Look's just like his dad. Got some Lucy going there, too. We will never know, exactly what happened, and really, it's none of our bizz. I still feel that this family, was one of the best. All in all.

I actually read that during those times, his mom asked him to get help and he didn't want to, not until he was about 25 or 26, that a brain scan showed him he has the brain of a 60 year old, because of the drugs, that is when he went for help.

Well, now he's 60 or 70 years old. But what about his family? Daughter or Son?? Anybody knows
He has 2 daughters from two different women, one born when he was very young and one by his current wife who he married in 1987 and he also adopted his current wife's daughter so he has 3 daughters. He turned 61 in January. He also was married to Linda Purl for one yr in 1980 to 1981. I completely forgot that or just didnt know but even though divorced they remain friends to this day and have performed together.

He was engaged to Liza Minelli after his bust-up with Patty Duke. Lucy HATED Patty, and didn't trust her when she claimed Desi was the father of Sean Astin. Patty turned up at Lucy's house with the baby one day to try and have some relationship with her and Lucy refused to see her. Lucy was relieved when Liza and Desi took up with each other, as Liza was a friend of the family through her mother, Judy Garland and father, Vincente Minnelli, the famous director. Lucy OK'd them living together and hoped they'd marry. Then Liza went on to Peter Sellers for a while and eventually married another couple of times. I don't think he has any children, whereas sister Lucie, married to actor Larry Luckinbill, has three. Those kids always seemed very grounded and nice...I grew up with them. And here is a little trivia. I was in Puerto Rico a couple of decades or so ago and took the Bacardi Rum factory tour. We were told that every time a bottle of that rum is sold in the world, Lucie, Jr. and Desi, Jr. get a couple of cents out of each bottle, as they are related to the Bicardi family somehow. So, they are well off, to be sure. I wonder if they'll take over my car payments!??

It's such a pity Lucy's children did not live up to her legacy ,specially her daughter ,who continuously tried to prove that her mom was not so great as her looser father ,even though Lucy tried her best to launch both her beloved children in show biz ,but they just did not measure up ,and as with children of famous people they seem to resent the famous parent ,in this case ,Lucy ,and prop up their father's image in every interview ,

Isn't Desi Jr. the real father of Sean Astin---Desi Jr. was dating Patty Duke --she got pregnant and Lucy was upset and broke them up---Lucy didn't like Patty Duke---Patty went and married or lived with some other man and said he ??? was the father---but Sean is Desi's real son.......
I replied to your other post but also yes Patty thought that Desi was the father originally because they had an affair and she told this to Sean when he was 14 so he and Desi bonded. Michael Tell had subletted an apartment from Patty around the time of the scandal and offered to marry her as a way out and so they were married 13 days. It was in Sean's mid 20s he met a relative of Michael Tell's who said they could be related so Sean set to prove it once and for all and they did DNA tests and the tests proved that Michael was his father. Sean has 4 fathers, those 2, his father John Astin who raised him and his stepfather Mike Pearce that Patty married in 1986 and he has a relationship with all of them. Strange though but Patty still prefers to believe Desi is his father even though the tests state otherwise.

Dino, Desi & Billy were never at the top of the pop charts. Their success was marginal and that is a verifiable fact if you search their recordings, Google them or look at Billboard. They had absolutely no impact on popular music.
Who said they did? I don't think desi or any commentator suggested they were huge or important - he stresses they were just kids having fun.

It was proven that he is not the father.
DNA testing was done years ago and Michael tell is Sean's father. He looks like his biological father, pictures are online. Sean has given interviews on this matter.
blueberrycobbler I don't believe it. Desi Jr. and Sean Astin have the same body type, eyes, mouth, nose,head shape. I'm a portrait artist and trust me, MIchael doesn't begin to have the features that line up with Desi Jr.'s. For some reason this has been a long-time line they have given out to the public. Just look at them all. He's an Arnaz.
P.S. All that being said, it really is none of our business. They can say what they want for the reasons they want; it is their lives not ours. They're public figures so we feel we deserve the truth, and we really don't. Make your best guess.other than that there's no more that we really need to know.
