I wouldn't be surprised if this Jabba Gambit mission isn't just a 10 minute fetch quest. I've found that with a few Ubisoft games where you get a Pre Order mission. Pretty such Watch Dogs, and I'm sure a few Assassin's Creeds have had such a mission... For instance, Assassin's Creed IV's Aveline add-on mission which was incredibly short and I'm sure that was a day one pre order mission.

A season pass for a game that hasn't released.
DLCs are ment for content that was cut due to being unrefined or enhance the experience
A good example of this is dark souls ones artorias of the abyss DLC it expanded on the game in a new way

Even Destiny 2 DLC does this pretty well by giving new areas, story, weapons, missions, and sometimes abilities.
Also in the season pass is two dlcs that'll have new areas and stories but having them already planned before the game releases is kinda shit meaning it's probably cut content. AC Valhalla had decent sized dlcs which was Siege of Paris, Ragnarok and some other one that was set in Ireland.

The issue is that Ubisoft doesn't understand the issue. I don't think anyone was worried that they'd cut out an entire cartel. The issue is Ubi is asking for more money for content that's ready to go. Unlike most season passes/Story Expansions that may take another year or two to develop. Not to mention the 3-Day early access.

Its difficult for me to say this as a dug in Star Wars fan but I most certainly will not be buying this game, because this is not behavior I am willing to support.
Disappointingly, I learned my lesson with EA with their Battlefront titles. I'm not making the same mistake by indulging Ubisofts tactic of using FOMO to make people buy the game at a value higher than what the game is really worth.
The battlefront games were the last good starwars games in my opinion. Itâs hard to fuck up with a starwars faction team V team.

@@isaiahevans4930 2 weeks? that's the point of a single player game. it comes out, you play it, you finish it within 2 weeks and you got your money's worth. and yes the game didn't make cal, his lightsaber or the force overpowered but that makes for a fun gameplay loop as opposed to just tearing through every enemy you find without a care (though i will agree the lack of lightsaber dismemberment is disappointing). also you only really tried to play the game so I don't think you're really in a position to comment on the story or Cal's character, which in my opinion, were both really well done especially in the modern era of Star wars

alot of people are failing to mention that it will also come with 2 post launch dlc. the whole conversation around this mission(yes that mission being locked behind a paywall is gross and i will most likely wait for a sale.) is kinda misleading

I never actually thought that the mission locked out Jabba the hut, I assumed it was just a single mission that is involved with Jabba.

How can you communicate and sell people on a mission if nobody knows what kind of game they are going to be playing? Like, what kind of mission is this? Big? Small? Elaborate? Crappy small side mission? I bet you it was an exec idea and not a developer idea.
Not to defend Ubisoft or this game, but locking short quests in a singleplayer game isnât a new thing. Itâs been done many times and it is dlc, itâs there for people who want to pay for more. If you are against that, I get it. But at the end of the day it is dlc and people who pay more do and should get more.

I mean, it's pretty clear that you don't have to buy the extras to play any jaba content. They've made that crystal clear. You just have to pay for *that mission specifically*
The issues are that 1) it's a mission, not a questline, certainly not worth the extra, what 30$? and 2) it's being released in time with launch. Twenty years ago or so, you could chalk stuff like this up to being developed originally as part of the game, only to be returned to later, during certification. Now they know better. They know they can get more return on investment if they develop the "dlc" in tandem with the rest of the game. So this was developed as part of the game, specifically to paywall it.

Nobody was complaing because jabba the hutt stuff was locked away they're complain that the game has a damn season pass and they're artificially jacking up the prices to funnel people into using their damn subscription service. Why isnt that season pass content just part of the game single player games dont need a season pass. if that content isnt made yet then finish the damn game then sell it us. dont make 2/3 of the game then sell us the rest as a season pass.
Every ubisoft game has story DLCs and a season pass to pre-order the DLC's together. They also allow players to buy the DLC's separately. Season passes always cost $30 for two story DLC's. It's been this way since at least 2017.
If you don't want the DLCs don't buy them. If you don't want the season pass, but want the DLCs buy them separately when they are released. Ubisoft isn't going to give you 20-40 hour DLC expansions for free. They never have, and IDK why star wars fans think they are a special case.

Most Star Wars games that come out now aren't worth buying at any more than half-price. Even the Jedi games from Respawn have had major issues with bugs and janky animation. I won't be purchasing this game unless it gets solid reviews and goes on sale. I just have not been wowed by modern SW games, Disney keeps giving the license to bad publishers.

"But the canon says they are this" . Correct, and hogwarts legacy has no main character appearance that's canon but the story is still canon within the HP universe. You can still have canon and not have a canon appearance, almost like a legendary character that exists in such a small slice of world that wont interfere with the bigger picture.

The biggest disappointment is that, in Ubisoft's eyes, you don't own the game even if you've purchased it. What I just wanted to say here is that 70 or 80 ⏠or whatever it costs now has actually been the standard price on the PS5 for years and that at least complaining about the price of the standard version isn't really appropriate if you're happy with the price of the other games. In addition, 20 ⏠per DLC has become something completely normal, so you can't really complain about that either
