48 here, started watching and plying tennis in 2000. Saw fed ply many times in mason Ohio. Definitely my all time favorite player. His game was just so elegant and awesome to watch. Super classy guy too. I have to say that while I always liked rafa (but it was hard to watch fed lose to him many times), I really love rafa now too. These guys are great champions and super classy men.

This as you said, is truly the end of the Golden Era. My biggest regret is that I took these guys for granted, thinking they would always be around and now it’s over. Rafa bawling his eyes out was heartbreaking. Rafa just realized exactly that his half of a life is completely gone. Roger's presence in his life (first as a fiercest rival, later also become the best of friend) become so routine it feels natural to have him around. I think it's just struck Rafa at that moment, that he now for sure won't feel that "natural presence" again. It's always easier for Rafa not knowing when Roger will be back on tour, like for the past 2 years. Now Rafa has confirmation that Roger won't be back ever again.

For me, you are tennis. There will never be another RF. The journey from a young swiss ball kid to the most loved tennis player around the globe. Legendary. Phenomenal 24 years. With eyes full of tears and a heart full of love, good bye. Roger Federer, my love, thank you for everything.
