(PJO and a bit of HoO spoilers)
Okay so basically Annabeth is the daughter of Athena which makes her super wise and such but doesn’t give her any demigod powers, which causes people to underestimate her like a bunch. She never got any quests and she wants to be noticed. With the part where she talks about her family not loving her, it’s because her stepmom always played the “bad cop” or something like that, and I’m pretty sure she favored Annabeth’s brothers over her? I’ll edit if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that she didn’t mean to act so cold but again I have a bad memory. An example of this is when she wouldn’t believe the spiders were harassing Annabeth and thought the spiderwebs on her was a clever trick. Her dad was always at work I’m pretty sure and never payed attention to her. I’ll check what happened with her half-siblings later because I can’t remember. The part where she says she ran away is when she went on the run with Luke and Thalia. She can be pretty prideful in the song since that’s her fatal flaw such as “Bring on any challenge!” (Annabeth you’re going to regret saying that especially in MoA BUT ANYWAYS) yep. Okay I’m done writing this it took too long

Do something from Jasper in Deadland! I swear no one knows that the musical is, but it’s made by the same guy who created 35mm and the main character is played by Matt Doyle. The style is contemporary and I absolutely adore the musical. It is based off a book which is based off of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Other then that an even lesser known musical is We are the Tigers which is a mix between Bring it On and Heathers.
Both are contemporary and now very well known.
As for popular requests I’d love to see Bare. There are so many good songs from there as I’m sure you know.
