Fun fact. So Hyang's Arirang Alone is the most viewed of any Arirang covers on youtube(There are many versions on youtube). Second place is BTS version of Arirang. Just think about that for a moment. BTS is the biggest band in the world right now. That's the power of So Hyang's magical voice. So Hyang's version of Arirang is the most reacted on youtube also.

I think they just hand out the winners randomly so no one gets upset to be honest. I prefer the original Arirang Alone since the orchestra and choir were more elaborate but Sohyang does sound better in this version.

The 2015 version is my favorite performance of any singer ever. But I feel like her beginning and ending soft notes in this version were even better. How she does this and makes it so effortless is a mystery 🤷♂️ 😂

Time cannot lie. The way she did it on Immortal Song 7 years ago was more flawless than this one, here she sounds a bit more exhausted and has shorter breath. But still no one could slay this like she did tho. The technique, the expression, the feeling, just everything.
She's magnificent. I wish they wouldn't have drowned her voice with all the reverb and echo effects.. Also missing the original violin part. I didn't hear anything from the dude playing here

SoHyang's natural timbre is much fuller, rounder and weightier. as a result her sound is more mature and womanly. Tessitura and brightness don't affect fach directly and vice versa
