This song holds important memories for me. I love those memories. And I praise and thank God that we still hold on to the foundations of our mothers and fathers. This chior is singing and giving up the praise!
The Director's expressions go deep. Ride on King Jesus is a song of triumph! We have a history filled with struggle and discouragement. In the storms of slavery we were anchored in the Lord. We dug deep to find inner strength and self worth. Jesus never left us. We rejoice in Romans 8:35-39. Despite the circumstances we rose to the occasion and sang out in victory! The lyrics "No Man can-a hinder me" speaks of Love, Power, Confidence and Victory. Not even "Massa" can take it away.
i don't think you can describe this as showmanship, it's just people expressing themselves without holding back, and singing their hearts out without fear of being judged, which is an incredible feeling, you should try it.

what is glorifying to the LORD? what lifts up the mighty name of JESUS? it is good to praise the LORD, and to extol Him in worship and in song! this is an excellent example of such.

I watch this every year around Palm Sunday and it has been the inspiration for a sermon entitled - Palm, Passion and Protest. Goosebumps every time! It is the best rendition I have ever heard! SING!!!!
In HIS Presence Gospel Choir always brings the house down. I went to go see them when they were in B.G. and once again they ripped it. Keep doin what yall doin. I know yall touch a lot of young people cuz when I show'd my friend, he wanted to watch it over and over. AND PEOPLE SAY GOD DON'T WORK. I tell them...thats because you never try him. He's blessing me every day.
