      NO singer is that good when they first start. Most songwriters sing their demos doesn't mean they are good but as time went by Noel's voice did and has gotten much better. He can hold his own with many now.

    • @lolamagenta
      @lolamagenta Před 6 lety +4

      He really nailed it when he sang Don't Look back in Anger! His back up vocals became stronger and he had to step up to the front man when Liam had his tantrums and refused to sing. Noel always ALWAYS put the band first even if it came at a high cost.

    He's always been a clever dude, Noel. Instead of getting lost trying to "produce" his demos as we all tried to do with cassette 4-tracks (a total and utter impossibility, since it's a toy you're recording with), he kept it simple. Vocal, bass, and a couple of guitars , and sometimes an "organ" pad (probably a cheap keyboard). But still managed to get his musical ideas across. You can tell he's working on his songwriting and performing skills, and creating basic guitar arrangements, instead of trying to get great sounds with a toy.

    • @michaelharrington75
      @michaelharrington75 Před 2 lety +1

      Lol. I always got frustrated with 4 track machines back in the day. When attempting to get a quality sound always finding you need some other gadget to go along with the 4 track. This process is repeated over and over until realizing the 4 track machine itself isn't good enough. I bought mixing consoles, EQ's, compressors, limiters, effects racks, mics, and all sorts of things to not much effect. Would have been best to spend that money going to a studio!

Sometimes as a kid people just laugh at ya; so you keep things to ya self, until you know start to be a bit good and might at some point be able to follow through, even very late in life, sometimes an opportunity shows its face to you. Youd have a very, very good point!. Especially now with computers and relatively easy digital audio software, an 8-track's not needed.. just plug your guitar via a pedal (if you wish) and/or microphone and you can make all kinds of music, if you have the hooks and the feel for it, you'll do well!. All you need to do is try, well said!. Keep toking mate!. :7

    I'm surprised at how it's sounds fairly professionally recorded. There's actually a lot going on in terms of the instruments; there's three acoustic guitars in 'What's it Got to do With You?', for example, as well as a bass and I think a keyboard in the background. No idea who the band was or maybe it was all recorded separately by Noel and he mixed it together.

    • @blink0r
      @blink0r Před 8 lety +17

      +Adam Andrews Pretty easy to do this stuff with a basic 8 track recorder in your bedroom actually. You just record one layer at a time and play them back while you record the next. Classic Noel :)

      You can do seven tracks on a four track with bouncing. Mix four tracks down to mono, put that tape in the four track and add three more. Or mix to stereo and add two more. The Beatles did a lot of great records that way on reel to reel four track gear. 8 track cassette machines were pricey when Noel was doing this stuff, if they even existed yet.

    Noel has been recognized as one of the greatest, if not the greatest songwriter of his generation. His lyrics compliment the music he is putting out it isn't about the lyrics. It's about the musical composition behind the song. Anyone can write good lyrics, but can they make it into a great song? Absolutely not. Noel can, has, and will continue to. Your argument is stupid.

    How can you judge the entire career of Oasis on an early demo tape? So many of their songs are amazing, Supersonic and it's B-sides (Oasis' B-sides are often better than their A-sides!) and all that came after until "Standing.." which is more psychedelic and not so many quick hooks but it's still good, all their albums are.. You can't say that "Some Might Say", "Whatever", "Rock'N'Roll Star" etc are shit, they have great lyrics, riffs and melody, and Noel's hearts in the right place. Your loss!.

  • @generalmayhemmcloughlin
